This would be a fascinating chapter in an otherwise an unlikely rivalry. Did the bad blood between these franchises start with the 2002 playoffs or was there animosity beforehand?
I get the love for Marner, but I don’t see him as a fit for this current team. He’s basically what we think Barzal could be if he had better offensive weapons to play with. I mean, I think Barzy would also put up prettier numbers if he had the guys Marner has had with him. Who would he play with here? Bo? Kyle? Holmy?
If we’re bringing in a Marner, we need more offensive weapons. Seems like that’s going to take some time.

You had me right up to the last part. I don’t want that prima donna or anyone with an ego that enormous on this team. They took our last diva off our hands. I don’t want theirs back.
No way in hell a guy like that would come here anyhow. He is bound for a big market place like LA, the rags, Montreal, maybe Detroit, Chicago, or even Boston. He’s not coming to some small market team unless Columbus offers him 15 million a season or something insane like that.
