Lost the comment wondering if Diaz is tipping pitches. Had this to say about it (if anyone wants to dive into the numbers)
“I don’t think it that so much (maybe). He’s flat out not throwing strikes and when he is he’s catching a ton of the plate. His slider is very flat right now, with roughly half in the 6″ break category. His fastball has decent movement, but he can’t throw it with any velocity as a strike – it’s averaging 93mph and staying up. There is a LOT going wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s tipping, but there are certainly mechanical issues big time. ”
But moving on, lets get some runs on the board tonight and set up for a series win! (I hate 4 game sets….)
I expect great things from Petty. He’s yet to allow a single base runner when pitching against NL Central opponents. He’s been perfect. I see no reason why that should change tonight.
