It’s sad because I think he really didn’t want to retire, but he just can’t keep up anymore.
Thank you Savard for all the sacrifices, blocked shots, veteran presence, this beautiful smile, and most importantly:
Adding 10 years to our 25 year old team average age.
Seriously, enjoy retirement, you deserve it.
Consummate pro. Epitome of a team first guy. Habs only got him for those last few years but I am sure his example will be something the young guys can carry with them.

Thank you for everything David! Nothing but pure class. I cant help but feeling this was the perfect time for him to go. While I will miss him for what he bring to the team, his body was clearly done. Dude was a step behind for a while.

He was my sleeper in fantasy, when not injured he blocked a lot of shots and was good for at least a point per game and he was always available in case a starter was on IR
I honestly had no idea he’s retirement age. He just debuted. Sigh I’m old.
