That dude is terrible and that chick sounds like an 80 year old professor back in the year 2000 the most monotone boring commentary maybe out of anybody that has a regular job for important games. These people were both handed jobs not for their commentary skills but for other things.
So watch the SportsNet feed instead

Both American broadcasts don’t have good play by play announcers. I’m biased, so I like Jim Jackson doing the play by play for some TNT games… but Kenny Albert and Sean McDonagh being the main play by play guys for national games in the US is a tragedy. Both are so dry and boring. Ferraro doesn’t do much for me either. At least Boosh is solid, but again, absolutely biased as a Flyers fan.

I swear I’m not one of those guys that claims the broadcasters always hate my team, but it really sounds like the announcers are pro-winnipeg.
I’m convinced the networks are trying to put out bad product so there is less backlash when they replace the announcers with AI.

Is this the same broadcast I’m watching? The one where they showed a video of Hellebuyck like exercising his eyes? They’ve been up is ass all night. Showed a video of him in an interview basically saying he’s read the most goalie books in history

The Florida game was worse. AJ trips over her tongue so much. I’m like.. Stfu paleez. Of course, I posted something like this earlier and it was immediately booted. Only way to consume espn hockey is on mute.
I have had the game on mute for the last hour. How is it hard to do better than this absolute joke show?
the bolts and panthers espn/sn cast on earlier was painful too. everytime the woman tried to make a comment she would forget what she was saying three words into it. and the guy was talking about his university career which like.. there’s less than a period left of a clinching game and you’re talking about what non-relevant YOU did 30 years ago..

Leah Hextall in the Florida vs Tampa was absolutely terrible in the game tonight. Half the time she’s saying the wrong thing and brings nothing valuable to the commentary. I know there a lot of terrible male announcers but I can’t stomach being forced fed her in all these great playoff matchups

The sad part, it’s least it’s not a remote team.
I listen to the local radio broadcasts that the NHL app makes available and kill the TV sound. These announcers were, quite possibly, the audio equivalent of an airport stall.

I can remember years ago I was watching a game on FOX and the commentator started telling some nonsense story about his college sports career during the play. A team scored and he didn’t stop telling the story. Just trucked on through. These guys remind me of that.
All anyone on ESPN does is endlessly recite statistics during the play, in lieu of actual commentary, until you can’t take it anymore and mute the television. It’s depressing

I’ve done this on a lot of national broadcasts, put the TV on mute and listen to the radio coverage. My Alexa has more soul than the ESPN hockey crew, and she apologizes to me if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Not everyone can be John Forslund and Edzo.

I hate her almost as much as I hate the Blues.
This is the perfect broadcast team for the Winnipeg Maple Leafs.
No, seriously, ESPN’s on-screen graphics called them that at one point.
She’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
yeah, 100% better than the CRAP they put on the Florida n Tampa game . . . Why do they Even let ESPN have hockey again ?! They Suck & we don’t even get weekend games on ESPN , they’re on TNT or TBS & 1000 Times Better ! NOT to mention Paying for ESPN+ and being Blacked out by hem “Forcing you to have a TV provider” (Collusion, illegal practices) . Total BS, ESPN is a joke unless it’s a College Football or Basketball game, then they have 24/7 coverage . They suck !
American fans get such a bad product compared to the Canadians, its so crazy
