A’s vs. Marlins Game Highlights (5/2/25) | MLB Highlights

On the hill for the Marlins tonight. The 25 year old from Mexicali, Mexico, Valente Belloso Belloso so far this year, two starts for the Marlins eight innings, a two run ball in those Jacob Wilson young stud leads things off that wide open stands from the right side as he bangs one high and deep towards the gap in right center, left, center field on the run is Dane myers. He gets there. Tyler Soderstrom batting here for the A’s hitting 289 with nine homers and 24 driven in this season. Soderstrom slaps in the air out to left Wagman was working back now he comes in and he makes the catch on a tailing fly ball. Rooker 2 52 8 homers and 17 driven in in on Rooker hands. He rolls one over to short X has got it. He gears up his throw to first in time to get Brent Rooker by a step two fly outs in a ground out. It’s a 123 frame for on the mound for the first time in his big league career. Hoagland Hoagland joined the athletics organization as the centerpiece from the blue Jays in the 2022. Matt Chapman deal, 11 Edwards slaps on the ground left side that is past the shortstop. Jacob wilson that rolls in the left field for a base hit Xavier Edwards with a slow rolling single in the leadoff. Man is aboard kyle Stour. He has been one of the best hitters in baseball. Ogle delivers in the pitch that’s hit up the middle right to the shortstop. Wilson step on the throw the first double play nicely done. Jacob Wilson gets the 6 to 3, double play was hit hard by ST but they had him play perfectly just about straight up the middle and Jacob wilson takes care of it. Here is Augustine Ramirez who’s over his last 12 at the plate. That’s check swing. Did he go? He did down. He goes and Hogan has his first career strikeout, no runs hit and nobody left nine pitches for Hoagland in that first inning J JB to the hitting 455 against lefties this season, but a modest 149 against right handed pitching and a breaking ball is outside and draws a walk one stretch pitch that hits Seth Brown in the back foot and he will reach base on the hit by pitch. 31 stretch pitch takes it is away and another walk for so to third Brown to second and to first with Kurtz coming up. Now the 22 and Kurtz in the air to right. It’s dropping fast and it will one hop the right fielder and get down for a base hit coming into scores. The throw gets away from the first baseman and advancing to third is Brown Urias to second and the bases remain loaded. So keep the line moving. It’s one nothing a in the righty gla comes up and the Marlins will play in breaking ball hit up the middle Edwards has it coming home? They get it out there for the first, not in time back to the top of the order we go and here is Jacob Wilson three zero. Jacob takes a four pitch walk and they also walks in on. You don’t see Jacob walk very much, but as I was very selective there pitching on Tyler shoulders hand and he sent it out to center field that’s caught by Myers in the inning is over. JJ kind of started the fire. The offense last inning worked the count fouled away a few pitches at three and two. Eventually ended up walking and now cracks one to deep right on the run is to he’s still going at the wall and has left the building. So JJ, welcome back to Miami Florida. He brings home the third run for the A’s with a solo bomb to right. It’s three to nothing. You know, that feels good. 789 for the Marlins coming up at the bottom of the third ground ball to he’s playing in first out 21 and he cracks that one to center but JJ has a beat on it, traversed these grounds once or twice swing and a miss just challenging these Marlins hitters with a fastball. Third strikeout for Gunter Hoagland in his big league career. He’s faced the minimum through three innings. Xavier Edwards, another guy that doesn’t swing and miss much at all. 22, got him looking great pitch , a fastball down the middle, the family and friends down there behind the first base dugout. They’re loving this 3 to 2 at it. Back to back strikeouts to go back to the third inning. That’s three consecutive strikeouts and two outs in the fourth. Here’s Augustin Ramirez two, that one ripped on the ground. That’s a fair ball down the first base line that’s rolling into the corner. Brown going to the corner to fish it out. Ramirez sprinting into second base and he breaks it down there. Augustin Ramirez breaks zero for 13 stretch and he’s aboard with a two out double. Here’s Eric Wageman, we’ll see if he can do a little damage, ground ball hit to third, backing up Ursa Bobbles it, he’ll put it in his back pocket at the time. Man is coming to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the fourth and nobody has been better in baseball this season with two outs and men in scoring position than the Miami Marlins waved at this down. He goes on the changeup. What a pitch from Hoagland. And that is strikeout number six for the right hander. No runs, two hits to left. We’re through four. It’s still a three in the Marlins nothing. One away runner on third. Here’s lang who has flied out to myers in center and popped up that is swung on, lifted to center field, moving to his left and under it is Myers Dean will reach up and make the catch. Tagging is Soderstrom. He’ll score and the lead at four JJ to right again. This time, the ball is going to get down and JJ is going to have extra bases, a double here with two outs for JJ. That might be the end of the day for Johnny coming out and that will be it for the right handers bang to the right for a base hit around third and he will come in and score and the lead five to nothing taken off. Here’s the throw from hicks. It’s not in time and Seth Brown with a stolen base that’s bounced on the left side to right Edwards. He’ll scoop it up, sling it over to first. It’s Lowe and the first baseman cannot dig it out. Brown is coming in to score and the lead six to zero. Myers leads off the bottom of the sixth facing Gunner Hoagland who’s tossed five shutout innings that’s in the air deep to right center field. Myers gets a hold of it back near the wall and it’s myers that ball the other way and this guy is hitting liners left and right. That one snuck into the A’s bullpen and a solo homer. The Marlins are on the board at 61 in the bottom of the sixth Edwards lift it to center, but the day will cover the ground and make the catch for the first out of the bottom of the sixth. And Stour lines one into center field that’s in for a base hit two pitch swing and a Miss sinker worked in on Ramirez and the right handed swinger fans through that one another strikeout for Gunner Hoagland make that seven a one pitch on the ground deep in the hole is short backhanded by Wilson clutches throws to first and it is in time to retire. It will be 891. Hicks Myers and Edwards in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Marlins Hendricks with the ball right towards the left fielder and a catch Tyler Soderstrom leaves his feet and makes an outstanding play in left field. But how about so streaming into the gap able to get the glove down just in time. See that knee first slide, bit of an awkward move out there for the first baseman left fielder slash DH as we go to the bottom of the ninth, Noah Murdock is on the pitch for the athletics pitch is swung on to operate to third, losing his footing a little bit, able to stick with it, throw across the diamond in time. And there is one away pitch to eric Wagman that a sharp roller in left center field that’s a base hit for Wageman. He got a three hit and a swing and miss that is a big one for him to clear right there on the full count. Here is Connor Norby zero for three has struck out, flied out and bounced out, swung on, missed on the sinker down. He goes and he got to 18 and 15 on the year three games over 500 they are now four and one on the trip.

  1. I understand it being the marlins but the A’s have been getting a lot better throughout the season as it continues. I can see them doing a lot better then last year.

  2. VALENTE BELLOZO was beaten in today's game, but do you think there will be a chance to go on the mound again as a starting pitcher?Or do you think you will be demoted to the minor leagues again?

  3. Don't look now, but the SacA's are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. 8-2 over their last ten. Also one of the best teams on the road.

  4. Oakland A's.. Small market team and of course is a low budget franchise but damn.. It's so hard not to like this franchise. Despite John Fisher's ownership.. Oakland A's still so beautiful and fun to watch.
