Stars Come Back to Win Game 7 vs. Avalanche | 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs

in all six in the series, now all seven after playing in just five in the regular season, 58 in the AHL. Back for Brandon. Brandon and all kinds of room. He scores. Moantin has Dallas on the board. Brandon and scored 34 goals in 81 playoff games for the A. Look at the patience to walk across the slot to shoot it. Sam Steel goes right through Lechanin and Lingren. He pushes those Colorado defenders. The crowd roaring sensing this could be the moment. Dallas ties it. The opportunity on the power play, but it’s O’ Conor again short-handed. He has help cut it. And it was Manson again, but Okconor got knocked off the puck. Numbers the other way for the Stars. Hence stopped by Lindren. Well played by Lindren. Manson. A good stick left on Duchain who got his stick back but sent it back to an empty point. And the time ticking off the Stars man advantage. And off the clock here in the third period. Branson in again. Branson scores. off the skate of Gerard. The former Colorado Avalanche star has scored twice. Rantin comes with such power and speed. He catches Lindren flatfooted. So he goes through that opening into the zone and the puck hits the skate of Sam Gerard. Back-to- back goals in the third period for Miko Ranton. An amazing turn of events. One more to be determined. Patrick, there’s a penalty. Bodies went flying. There’s a penalty. And who is it going against? It’s going against Colorado. Jack Drury called for holding. Colorado 18. Wow. Face off. And he’s going to get called for the hold here as he tackles Tyler Sean here. And a chance for the Dallas power play. Our rules expert Dave Jackson agrees with the call as Drury took down Sean. Power play for Dallas. They just tied it. A man up now trying to take the lead down low. Johnston scores. Ryan Justin with 356 to [Applause] go. This power play is perfectly executed. Duchain leaves the slot right on top of the crease and goes across the scene to Wyatt Johnston. From the acute angle, Johnston has the patience and poise of someone much more experienced. The youngster fires it into the empty net. Two power play. 15.2 to go. Colorado last 11 shot attempts. Mar kept it in. Free puck. Lindell didn’t get good wood on it, but Sean got it out. Ranch in again. [Applause] Unbelievable. A legendary performance by Ransin against his former team. [Music] [Applause]

Mikko Rantanen’s 3rd period hat trick leads the Dallas Stars comeback over his former team Colorado Avalanche to take Game 7 and advance to the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

  1. Man, that Mikko Rantanen fella sure is a special talent. Colorado really could use a guy like that and I bet they would keep him on the payroll and not trade him away if they did…

  2. The NHL Analysts have the Carolina Hurricanes as the heavy favorite to win the Stanley cup now that Anderson is reported to be coming back from that minor injury. He’s a risk with a former DVT but he had the highest save percentage of any goalie in the playoffs so far. With that said, Washington will be a problem if Ovechkin rally’s and now Dallas, is the wild card. They just dug themselves out of a massive loss to let Colorado back in to the series and now it starts over so I don’t see them letting that happen again.

  3. God I feel pain for Colorado fans just watching this. Nothing worse than giving up a lead in a big game like this. Nothing worse in sports. And I know it well enough circa 2019 game 7 against San Jose. Ironically enough coached by the same guy that just did it to Colorado lol

  4. I wonder if Mikkos back hurts from absolutely carrying this team in the third. He just said screw it we’re gonna win rather yall want to or not. 😂 Anyways hopefully they get their 💩 together for the next series and the rest of the team decides to show up. I’m still shocked they won. 😂

  5. The way Mikko skates through defenders is special. What a player. Thank you Colorado front office for letting the Stars get him.

  6. The last 12 minutes of this game was electric. Heck it takes 20 real time minutes to play the last 75 seconds of an NBA game. There's no comparison.
