  1. I know we’re all pissed off and frustrated right now but just wanted to say that I was born and raised in a small town in Georgia where no one gives a single fuck about hockey and truth be told, I didn’t either. But then I moved to St. Louis a couple years ago, married my wife and married into a Blues family. My father in law is a season ticket holder, my wife grew up going to games. My first few years up here I still wasn’t able to get super into it. But something about this team was different and they captivated me hard these last couple months and I’ve had a fuck ton of fun watching them. I’ve finally realized why hockey is so great. I think I’m officially hooked.

Already looking forward to next season. See yall in October and LGB.

  2. alright i’m over the immediate depression. this was a great season for our expectations. the final team to make it in, and also lasted the longest of any of the losing teams. it’s a good thing we have one of the best gms in the league. if he cooks up something nice in free agency we could win a chip next year. this is great fuel for the fire. proud of the boys

  3. Starting at 2:00 left, in probably 99 out of 100 universes we are right now celebrating the win, and talking about and prepping for the Dallas series. We live in the 1 out of 100 shitty universe. So brutal.

  4. They took the best team in the league to double OT in game 7. Can’t wait to see what this team can do next year.

  5. I could never root for the s-rats, but I will take some much pleasure in watching them smoke the jets in 5

  6. Dude I’m so mad. Any other way and I would not have cared. Get steam rolled? Don’t care, we were home merchants. Lose a close one on a last gasp effort? Tough to swallow but they fought till the end. Blow them out? Sweet, love watching more hockey. They weren’t supposed to be in the playoffs, who cares? But to lose the game like THAT?! I cannot believe it. We easily had the better chances throughout both overtimes but of FUCKING course Schenn gets stuck out there and is too old and slow to block a shot. Beyond cooked and I do not care if he is gone come October

  7. This hurts so bad right now… But deep down I know we shouldn’t have been there. But we were… And we were 2.6 seconds away (or an empty netter away) from winning this series. And that hurts. I’m excited for next year though! That’s for damn sure!

  8. I only wonder how this series would have ended with Holloway in.

Still happy we made the playoffs and had an amazing run. CGY or MIN would have been bounced in 4-5 games. Affectionately, of course.

    Loved the physicality too.

Good series, til next year. Should’ve held ’em, but it’s also, Blues hockey for the last 3 decades.

  9. We will be back next year even stronger (hopefully we’ll have Holloway back with a vengeance). Binner played his heart out tonight. WTF line really came through for us this series, along with Fowler putting up big points. Snuggy gained some valuable playoff experience. See you all next season. The future is bright.

  10. Absolutely pathetic offense in over time. Just constantly icing it. Fuck this is irritating. They were playing scared.

  11. I missed all of regulation because I played ball tonight. Old man beer league baseball. Did we even have a shot at the empty net? Fuck, man.

  12. i hate jaime benn, but it rhymes with schenn so im rooting for the stars.

  13. Great effort and a great season. Looking forward to the future of this team. Looking back for a second and venting, man, I just really hated our 6on5 and mentality when playing with a lead. All the things that make this team good, they killed with the way they turtle. But what really annoys me is that they clearly decide to play the 6on5 like a powerplay and don’t seem to adjust the personnel accordingly. Buch shouldn’t be out there, especially to just lob it down the ice. I’d rather our best defenders out there. Maybe Broberg instead of Faulk. Fuck, I dunno, I’m rambling. It just seems like a waste to grind down our opponent like we did and then allow them chance after chance after chance as strategy.

  14. One of the most painful losses I can ever remember, just way too conservative of strategery in those last few minutes of the third.

Really enjoyed this team this year, just sad it’s all over. Yeah, yeah, optimistic about the future, but goddamn this game is so cruel 🙁

  15. SOME SHIT THEY CANT TAKE AWAY FROM US
-Longest winning streak in team history

    -Three Walker playoff goals

-Pulling the Vezina winner every home game

    -Upgrading our coach

    -Beautiful playoff composure by Snuggy

    -Robert Thomas reading a teleprompter

    -Ruining Calgary’s season

    -Lasting longer than the Mild

-Technically lasting longer than the Avs

-Offer sheeting our way to two new core pieces

-Embarrassing Chicago in the Winter Classic

-Getting a sick new logo that we will one day be allowed to buy on a baseball cap I swear to fucking god

  16. can we please get rid of the old farts (except fowler) and build around the young core been saying this for years

  17. I’m actually upset with the blues and jets fan base trolling each other we gotta do better they haven’t won a cop at all they are a hell of a team I’m a die hard blues fan just to make that clear

  18. Noticing an influx of drunk sister fucking ice hicks about now. No one cares jets fan, we know and you know you’ll be on the golf course in a week too.

  19. You don’t get infinite chances at this. Team had their show ran for 3 periods and almost escaped with a win. Extremely disappointing waste of a season

  20. How were we so consistently shit at 6 on 5? We just lose every fucking face off, we can’t hit an empty net, we can’t block a pass.

This one specific thing has fucked us all year. We’ve given up so many goals with the opponents goalie pulled. It’s just pathetic.

  21. It sucks that there has to be a losing team after an epic battle between two opponents that showed no quit. The Blues never gave up and they showed outstanding effort and courage to take it to game 7. I’m not a Blues fans (I’m from Vancouver) but I can appreciate a team stepping up and pushing the boundaries to do whatever it takes to win. It’s crummy you lost but I’d be so damn proud of your team.

  22. Oh boy! Now all there is to follow is St.Louis City and the Cardinals and they both suck. Yee Hah!!

  23. Binnington played great. Two of the goals were off own players and the third goal was off yet another tip in. Nothing the goalie could have done.

  24. In hindsight… Would you rather lose that game 4-0? Or the way we did

  25. I’m normally the pessimist of the sub. I’m working on it I promise. But I just don’t have much to say. We choked, plain and simple. Happens all the time in sports. Our 6v5 has been atrocious all season, and every team is gonna have their kryptonite that’s going to cost them huge in these big games. For the first time in so long, I am absolutely pumped to see what happens in the off-season and to get next season rolling. Our team this fall compared to this time last year – night & day. Such a bright future with these young guys and our core developing. The hiring of Monty, and get us some defense changes. We’re going to be the kill squad next season. It’s been a pleasure hanging in the game threads with you all.

  26. Not a blues fan, but I was rooting for them the whole way in this series. What an effort from the Blues. Going on that insane 12-game winning streak to make it to the playoffs, then taking the president’s trophy winning Jets to 7 games is nothing short of impressive. Blues fans have a lot to look forward too. Still lots of young players and ton of prominent depth. Also Binnington was excellent.

  27. We outscored the Jets 27-21 in the series. Unfortunately a W is a W and an L is an L. We could have killed some clock in the last seconds but instead we gave it back to them and it cost us a regulation win and a trip to Dallas in round 2. This one stings.

  28. This one hurts like an absolute bitch. I’m still in shock. However, the future is bright. So much to be excited for and our “window” isn’t even open yet. Lots of great playoff experience for the young guys. Can’t wait to see what the future brings. Just wish I didn’t have to wait several months to find out.

    LGB forever

  29. I’m going to take this off season to write a really shitty pro-blues rap song. I think that will give the boys the motivation they need to hoist the cup next year. Keep an eye out maybe I’ll even give this sub a shout out in my shitty white boy pro-blues rap.  (I’m talking dominate the foes quality fly hip hop rhymes)

  30. Seeing my favorite band one night and having to experience this the next? I’ve cried two nights in a row for extremely different reasons. I was really hoping that a weekend like that would be double positive things but they exceeded what they should’ve done and it’s gonna fucking hurt to try to accept that. but I’ll just hope Dallas finishes them off because as an Atlanta resident/former thrashers fan, we are a strong legion of hateration so let’s go, bandwagon

  31. 2019 makes nights like tonight hurt less.

I don’t have to witness another disappointing postseason exit, wondering if I’ll ever see my team win it all in my lifetime.

Somewhere in a cemetery in Chicago is someone who died at the ripe old age of 107 having never seen their Cubs win a World Series. That won’t ever be me.

  32. Supposed to be a dogshit season that ended up an order of magnitude better than expected. Future is bright.

I’m gonna take a future on Dallas tomorrow because Winnipeg isn’t good. We lost it. They didn’t win it

  33. I know this is not what people in this thread want to hear, but this is the time to be happy to take the Jets to 7 and excited for what we can do next season.

If the Blues 6v5 was better this year, we likely wouldn’t have been the 8 seed. The outcome those final two minutes were exactly what made the Jets the 1 seed and us the 8. They showed up when they needed to, and we didn’t.

Once again, respect to Binnington, only gave up deflection goals tonight and a lesser goalie like Connor probably gives up 5 or 6 goals off those big opportunities our defense kept giving up late. Glad we have a guy in front of the net who shows up in May, glad our rookie looked solid after playing college hockey up until a few months ago, and glad we’ve got some guys in their prime who are ready to take a step to the next level. This team will compete for a cup in the next few years, and I’m excited to watch it.

And I said this in another comment, but we did what any respectable 8 seed does: we made the 1 seed look beatable, you’re welcome Dallas.

  34. Flames fan coming in to say that in my 40 years of life I’ve never seen a game like that. I know the sting of defeat like that must be just crazy. Literally 2 seconds left. But nonetheless you guys should be proud. That was epic once I
    In a generation game.
