Step 2: have said franchise QB get an extremely wealthy wife so he can take pay cuts.
That’s how most successful teams were successful, the rest got a franchise qb through free agency or trade
Hidden option C- build a defense so good that you can get by with a quarterback who is good enough to not cost you games.
