Enough about Cleveland… let’s talk about Detroit

  1. The team is not built around a gunslinger QB, it is built around a game manager QB. There would have to be quite a few changes in addition to Stafford to elevate it.

  2. I know it’s just a meme but I like my memes to be at least tangentially related to reality.

  3. Yea couldn’t have anything to do with that guy that played for the Packers.

  4. We got a kings haul in draft picks that allowed us to build that team, we would not have the team we currently have without getting rid of Stafford first.

rj/ what I meant by that was this is somehow the Yzerplans fault.

  5. I honestly think that with even just half the defensive injuries they had last year, they win the Super Bowl easily. Even just getting Hutchinson back would have given them a shot at it. That was maybe the unluckiest season a team ever had.

  6. I dont get this take cuz without trading stafford the Lions wouldnt have gotten all the picks and good players anyway

  7. It’s amazing what you can do with a few extra first round draft picks and having an owner/ gm/ head coach who are competent, and on the same goal path.

  8. They got a lot of picks for Stafford, including Gibbs, LaPorta, and Jamo. You need to stop sniffing paint thinner

  9. Overrated. That Rams team only won the Super Bowl because they were motivated by possibly winning on their home field. Same with New Orleans the year they won. Katrina motivated that team.

  10. They should trade Goeff for Stafford and add a pick to it. The Lions will have a complete team.

  11. I’d rather keep JG16 at this point. For what we’re doing now, I think he’s a better fit. Not necessarily overall the better QB, don’t misunderstand me. But the best for what we’re doing now.

  12. If you think Stafford can beat the Eagles in that team you’re delusional. Bro would find a way to choke it away eventually.

  13. I don’t think the meme is saying that they shouldn’t have traded him….

It’s more that it’s ironic that they find themselves in this position. Catch 22, if you will.

  14. There are guys who have enough to get teams over a hump but they aren’t necessarily like franchise changers.

There are guys who are just franchise changers for whatever reason.

Stafford is the former. He is a guy who got the Rams just a little extra juice to get them over the hump but hes not a franchise changer

Goff weirdly is a franchise changer. Dude went through a rebuild in College, in LA, and in Detroit. Like if Stafford joined this Detroit team they are probably good for a season or two with a few first round playoff exit but Goff is a dude who gets them the #1 seed and wins the division

Stafford had a few solid teams when he was in Detroit and couldn’t win a playoff game for shit.

Goff for reasons beyond me actually gets a good use of the talent and takes them far.

Why that is I don’t know

  15. > Enough about Cleveland

Since the trade in 2021, the Rams have won 5 playoff games including a Super Bowl. The Lions have won 2 playoff games and had a 15 win regular season

The Browns have had 1 winning season that resulted in a wild card loss

  16. Man, Stafford playing for every injured defensive player would’ve been insane. They would’ve won the Super bowl no problem.

What do you mean he plays QB?

I get the joke OP but QB wasn’t the problem this season.
