That’s Marco Doco. Follow him at M and Demo. Um, always like and subscribe. It just helps the channel and pushes it forward. And thank you for your ongoing support. And we’re not going anywhere. You can expect regular content uh right through the summer months. That’s Marco Demo. I’m Sean Star. Betonline.ag. Marco. Take a look at some of these odds as we look at the Stanley Cup and odds to win. You’re Dallas Stars. The odds on favorites. Odds on favorites, brother. To win the Stanley Cup. I mean, how tempting are the Dallas Stars to you? Because I’m not going to lie to you. I mean, Toronto, the Anthony Stolar situation is wild to me. But Vegas at 6 and a half to one, the Vegas Golden Knights are are tested. They’re battle tested. They always get the conference finals. They’ve won a Stanley Cup. If you ask me, right here, right now, today, I think I would put a dollar on the Vegas Golden Knights. Is there something on this page here? Washington plus, 1100, the Jets plus a,000. Uh, who do you like here from these eight options on the board for the odds to win the Stanley Cup? Um, coming up this month in June, you know my answer. I’m Dallas Stars the whole way. Wow. Wow. And I’m going to say this. I’m Dallas Stars the whole way and they’re playing without their best defenseman and they’re probably their best forward. But he’s back. He’s back. Robertson and Heiskin, right? Yeah. Well, now they’re now they’re gonna be back. And I that’s why I’m saying there you go. There you go. To go headtohead with Colorado like that and to come back and to win that series, if if they get highkin in, even at 75%, watch out. I know. Uh fast deposits for firsttime players and easy cash out options from a trusted space in the business for over 25 years. Betonline.ag. Here’s a simple question for you. Are the Montreal Canadians Do you believe the Montreal Canadians are going to make the playoffs next year? Marco, it’s I’ll I’ll follow it up right away. Yes or no? Do you believe that the Montreal Canadians are going to make the playoffs next year? Yes or no? Yes. Okay. So, how do they fix the second line? Let’s talk about filling holes on line number two because I think you and me and everybody else have Ivan Deidov. I’ve logged in on Demidov and we have Deitov on the second line. I don’t know how many question marks are on are on your second line today, but how does the regime fix line number two this summer? I think they want to add a play driver, right? And I think that’s that’s that’s the key for them right now. Um it was a little hard to ask uh Ivan to be that player uh for them in the playoffs just having two games of NHL experience, but yeah, I think over a full season he could definitely develop into one. I think one of the key elements that um you know everybody’s talking about the second line center and we’re we’re going to get into all of that uh in the summer, but I think one thing that was really interesting was how uh Jeff Gorton indicated that there’s more than one way to build out a second line. You want to build it out with play drivers. You want to build it out with guys that push the pace of the game. Yeah. And so he pointed out there are there are 100 point wingers in this league that drive play on their own and don’t necessarily need a top end center. And I mean he’d know he signed one in in Arti Paneran that’s exactly that, right? A play driver on his own right. Uh doesn’t necessarily need the top center on the team to run that line. So it was a little interesting to me, you know, like I was I was a little hesitant to to to kind of take that in. like was he talking about Demodolv just taking another step or was he talking about potentially acquiring another top flight winger um you know because at the same time he also mentioned that he didn’t want to be a he didn’t want to go and sign a player long term to be a stop gap for young players you know I’m thinking about Michael Hayes when you’re thinking about a center of the second line oh 61 baby it’s an interest yeah you know it’s an interesting take uh just because not everybody’s sure whether Michael’s gonna be a center in the NHL or not But I think again it has to go with um I think it has to go a lot with uh you know the build and the the look of it all and what we’re trying to do with it. And so when we when we build out a team and you’re trying to bring in different elements to it, you know, I think the Canadians are just trying to bring an element that’s going to make that line harder to play against. My only issue though is, you know, if the center is not the play driver, then the Canadians really kind of need a center like Phil Deno was for them, you know, you know, five or six years ago who was like a 50-ish point player, but really did so well at five on five that the wingers did, you know, were able to get all the the offensive opportunities that they needed. And I think that’s slowly where they’re trying to build to, but they’re looking for a fit. So they’re on the one end, they brought up the winger. On the other end, they kind of diminish this the idea of needing to absolutely go out and get a second line center. Yeah. My read on that they’re trying to improve their positioning by saying that they don’t absolutely need to get that second line center this year and that they’re totally okay with, you know, trying to go back into next year with the same lineup um and, you know, with an addition in their top six if possible. So the reason is because everybody sees the Montreal Canadians coming. Agreed. Agreed. Yes. The Canadians were after Dylan Cousins not by chance, right? It’s because they have identified that center role as being a problem. And there Jeff Gorton’s disappointment in Kirby Doc was further uh easy to read when you saw that the guy that they initially thought could fill that role isn’t isn’t cut out for it right now. still have a place for him in the lineup. But why throwback here, Marco, on like, you know, so I’m going to give you a stat here. There were three players in hockey that had 190 hits, 50 points, and 60 block shots this season. One was Brady Kachchuck, one was Levkovski, who’s 21. These stats, by the way, uh come from Grant McCag I saw on Twitter the other day. So you’ve got Brady Kachchuck, Uricovski. The other guy is Vincent Trochek. And that takes us back to the Rangers for a second. I like him. Scores 20 goals, puts up 50 points, plays that hard two-way game, which I like. I got blowback. It’s like, well, 50 points, I need more than 50 points. Like, what about the complete picture of a hockey player? Um, so how much of that for you is like, yes, complete player. Does the 50 points, you know, kind of average turn you off? Do you think it turns the Canadians management off when we talk about a point total related to a two seat? No. They just finished saying that the play driver could be a winger, but I mean people people are mad because he had 59 points in 82 games. Well, they after having Yeah. Some fans want more. You know, they want more from a you get more. Like when I tell you this house is worth a million dollars, you’re like, oh, in my head I know what a million dollar house should look like. And so when I say a 2C, some people have this like dream fantasy of what a 2C looks like. Yeah. With respect, if your 2C is hitting 60 points and playing in all three, playing penalty kill, power play, and five on five and he’s got 60 points and he’s a monster on the faceoff. Like my only issue with Vincent Troche, to be completely honest with you, is he’s going to be 32 this summer. I know that’s that’s if you were four years younger. Yes. I could definitely see the Canadians just being like, “Hey, hey, hey there.” Yeah. Rangers, take what you want. Uh, but the other thing to keep into consideration when we talk about the Rangers is there’s considerable bad blood between the Canadians and the Rangers right now, right? Those two are not trading. So, we’ll kill that. But that mold of a player, that mold of a player, the player that can get you to to the 60 point plateau, you know, with with that that kind of ability. I mean, like people saying people saying no to Troche based on points is silly. Absolutely silly. They were a train wreck this year and he still got 60 points. Yeah. Got 77 points last year. Like what are we talking about here? If the Canadians were to get him on a good deal, like wouldn’t even blat bat an eye. But a the Canadians are not on good terms with the New York Rangers and it’s their centennial season next season. So what are the Canadians going to give them that’s going to entice them to let go of their second line center? It’s not happening. So forget the Rangers, but based on points, um again, if Ivan Demidov is as good as everybody says he is, is he not going to help said center get points? It’s it’s elementary Watson. So, this is the way that I see it is that the Canadians at special teams are getting absolutely boked when it comes to the faceoff circle. I would prefer a center that is that, you know, hasn’t necessarily reached his peak or has in the 60point range, but is a monster on the faceoff circle and really good at five on five and really good at being a complimentary player if that’s what the Canadians want to go and get. But, you know, when you look at the way that Jeff Gorton talked about, I think they would rather a hardnose center. Like, you know what center that what style of center would make sense for the Canadians? Bo Horvat. That’s the kind of center. Amen. That’s the kind of center. But the problem is those centers are so hard to come by, right? They’re very difficult players to come by. And, you know, to trade for them, like again, like I you’d have to burn it down in on on Long Island for that to happen. And there then there will be teams interested. But those are the kinds of centers that you’d be looking for if you’re Montreal. You really want play drivers. So if you have Demadov as your play driver, then you need the complimentary player that’s going to make life easier for him and a guy that’s going to be able to fill nets. And you have a guy like Orbad who’s a, you know, 30 goal scorer. Exactly. That the fit makes sense and he could play on the penalty kill and he’s money on the face off. Like that’s exactly why the Islanders went to get him when they did. And people are going to be like, “Oh, well, 8.5 million till he’s 37. Who cares?” Amen. Amen. Like, buy him out at that point. The Canadians will have all the cap space in the world. A, B, by the time he’s no longer good, you’re talking about six years from now, the Canadians window will be like at its peak and 8.5 million, retain 50%, trade him to a team for at 4 mil and your problems are solved. the Canad like people have to get themselves out of a flat cap reality. The cap is going to keep going up and up and up and up and only 50% of the teams in the NHL are going to be able to keep pace if you know because then at that point it’s no longer going to be TV driving up the price point. They’re going to need to keep up ticket sales wise. They’re going to need to keep up merchandise wise and nobody can keep up with Montreal, Toronto, and New York in that regard. That’s a fact. So, so I’m not worried. I’m not worried about the long term. The Canadians are going to want players, but again, we talked about it earlier on. They want fit and I think that’s the biggest that they’re not going to make a deal. Just because a guy like Bo Horvat looks to be the best fit on paper in that situation when we’re looking at available teams right now doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to, you know, sell the farm just to get him now, right? Just to just to put him in a situation. They might just go out and get a top six winger that can impact the game on all ends and could bring a physical touch and then see who ends up becoming that number two for the season and work around that then overpay for a second line center this summer and just you know maybe it works out maybe it doesn’t. So they’re going to evaluate all of that. And this is why I’m saying the Canadians, whenever the Canadians start playing this game of maybe we won’t, maybe we will nine like I don’t think I’ve ever seen them play that game and not actually execute. That’s the thing. And you know what I mean? You you speaking to the general you, you can take in the Monday press conference um and form your own point of view and your own opinion. My own point of view and my own opinion is once again that this front office has a very clear p plan. I think they communicate very well between themselves and I really think they’re in a very good way and I mean this as a compliment. I think they’re kind of stubborn. They’re not willing to kind of move off their spot unless they really really want to. And as Marco said, they have the money, they have some assets, they’re building and continue to build. And so Demo and yours truly will be all over this blanket level coverage. Marco Demo with RG Media and always here on YouTube.com with Sean Star. Thanks for the time. Great stuff as always and looking forward to to next week where we’re going to have a whole new batch of content and really dig in on some very important talking points. Marco, thank you, sir. 1. Bo Horvat. I know he’s 30. But he’s 6’1” 215, is a 50-60 point lock and he was 58% from the dot. I feel like he’d be perfect to centre Demidov.

  2. Bo Horvat is a good solid guy. A real steady Eddie. He's a former captain and a good leader. The Canucks may try to get him back though. Stamkos is a natural to go after with the connection to St Louis and Lecavalier. Maybe Dach would improve with a bonafide scorer like Demidov with him.

  3. Kirby Dach has great hands if he comes back I would like to see him on a line with Demidov I like those odds since now we talk a lot more on betting.

  4. Mr Starr …. Trocheck is a shrimp cocktail.. 5-11 … 188 pounds … he is too small … even if he hits 1000 times … he could not hurt anyone, not even my 85 year old grandmother who is 6 foot tall 170 pounds…. … habs need 205 + pound player and hits like a train … Mctavish….. Geekie …. zacha … Thompson …. Tuch …. Voronkov ….Fiala … Vilardi

  5. Easiest fix, trade for Crosby. Flank'em with Demidov and Slaff and give Flo a look with Suzuki and Caufield. But short of Crosby, this is still the basic formula I would like to see. Horvat, Slaff and Demidov would also make a nice line. With all of the talk this season about Slaff playing more like Tktchuk, Flo has a lot of those needed ingredients as well. And I love the idea of having one on each of the top two lines

  6. It will be difficult to attain a 2nd line center. We will definitely have to overpay. And if we expect to get a player that will make an impact, we can expect we will have to give up someone. Having said that, I trust Hugo.

  7. My list for 2C

    Crosby – trade
    Horvat – trade
    Byfield- offersheet
    Duchene – UFA
    McTacvish – trade-offersheet
    Granlund – UFA
    Tavares – UFA
    RNH – trade
    Laferniere – trade
    Perfetti – trade
    Sillinger – trade
    K. Johnson – trade
    Roslovic – UFA
    Ryan Suzuki – trade / O.sheet

Bennet – ❌ too much negative attention, yes gritty but honestly don’t know if the fit is right. What good is a 2C if he’s suspended or in the box for half the game

  8. I think it definitely needs to be a lefty that is good at faceoffs. They heavily relied on Dvorak in important situations and will likely need to rely on the new guy going forward to play on the PK, late game dzone with a lead, etc, especially if both Dvorak and Armia are both gone. Beck, Kapanen, Newhook and even Suzuki aren’t the best fits for those roles.

  9. Still have a year of Carey price at $10.5 million and two more years of Gallagher and Anderson for an additional 12$ million a year. So plenty of time to try to draft and or develop that 2nd line center. If we don't have one in two years time to try to fill that hole with a free agent. Crazy to fill it now and find out Michael Hage is actually the answer to your question and you are sitting on an overpriced poorly aging Bo Horvat who you have to get rid of. How much do you want to pay for a 30 year old 60 point center in Horvat and for how long?
I like Trochek . He's 31 and 4 more years at a pretty reasonable number $5.625/. Honestly someone younger.
