2025 Updated- Closest Hockey City by Central County/Province Coordinates

Is this to the location of the rink? Or the location of the city?
Because I find it hard to belief that Denver’s reach would grab most of Kansas and Dallas wouldn’t take a larger chunk?
Hol’ up, San Jose is closer to Hawaii than either LA or Anaheim?
Alaska making zero sense here. I can maybe see the top county there being closer to Edmonton, what with it being farther north and all, but someone please explain to me how it’s physically possible for those other counties to be closer to Vancouver and yet somehow the tip of the archipelago is closer to Edmonton. Make it make sense.
Over in the Indian Ocean, the French Desolation Islands are oddly torn in half for geographical loyalty between the Oilers and the Stars.

But, it boggles my mind that there is no Wisconsin team.
Especially when they’re so great in college Hockey.
Having the St. Louis blues take up 2/3rds of illinois is wild
