Payoff pitch. Durant strikes out on a cutter up and there’s one away to start. Blue goes one two. Bregman bounces it left side at Whit who gets the force. The turn from Massie in time and that’s two to end the first. That one he’s at 94 to 96. This is pulled on the ground and Bregman sliding play to get India. Very nicely done by Alex Bregman. Yeah. 2-2 Wit strikes out on 95 up. Abrau’s going. Lugo fires to second and they’ve got Abrau. Tries to change it up. Runner going on the 3-2 and Soard lofts it into right. Waters makes the catch and Story gets back to the bag. Two down. Bouncing ball at Alex Bregman who approaches and there’s one away to begin the bottom of the second. Pulled to right at Abrau who backs up and one two three for Gito in the second. 3-2 rocketed to center. Kyle Isbel trots back and makes the catch for route number two. Here comes the 01 pitch. Isbel squares again, drops down back to Gino. Goes to third with it and throws it away. Waters scores and the Royals lead. Lucas Gelo’s one-two up the ladder indeed to strike out Bobby Wit Jr. for out number two. First pitch, another tor short at Trevor Story and Lucas Gelino leaves two in the third. Lugo Bregman rolls it to third at Mikel Garcia. Two down in the fourth. Abrau hammers one to deep right field. Waters goes back and it is gone. Willard goes deep to tie the game in the [Applause] fourth. Now Trevor Story hooks one at Michael Garcia to end the inning, but Willard goes deep with a tater and we’re [Applause] tied in the air toward right at Willard and there is one away in the fourth. So who knows on the ground at Trevor Story who retires Mikeel Garcia for round number two. Dan, you made a really good point earlier about Abrau was the fact that even when he’s not getting hits 2-2 Massie gets under this one into shallow rights. David Hamilton battles the sun and it’s a one, two, three, fourth inning for Gilito today. It’s one two top of the zone. Strike three called and Sogard goes down for out number one via the punch out. It’s an art to be able to pinch hit, come off the bench, and have good at bats. He pops this one up into short left. Jonathan India with the shades on for out number two. But on top of that, it’s not just the pinch hitting. It’s the fact of you might go three, four days in a row with not playing. One, two, swinging a miss. Good breaking ball from Lugo who bookends a one, two, three, fifth with a couple Ks. [Applause] I can attest to that, guys. Love my wife as well. Joanna does a fantastic job. Wouldn’t be able to be here doing this job without her. Well said, Jamai. Drew Waters lines one in left at Jiren Durant. Isbel hooks one. Sogard stabs, got the bag, and now they’ve got me hung up. Story runs at him. Gelo applies the tag and it’s a double play to end the fifth inning. reaches out, flicks one at Michael Garcia. Had to get rid of it quickly. 6 years old. Rafi clubs one in the air to center. Isbel goes back. It is gone. Oh my god. Absolutely crushed by DeS. Bregman swings and strikes out. And there’s two away here in the sixth. Good way to cancel noise as you talk even louder with your bat. But for Rafy, he just wants to play baseball. William rolls this one at Perez, who flips to Lugo and the inning’s over, but demolishes one to center. Just two hits given up by Gilo here in his third start of the season. India on a line to right at willu has to come in for the first out here in the sixth. Here’s Gilito’s 02 to wit swing and a miss. There’s that sick cutter again unleashed by Gito today and there’s two gone. She kind of worked passino skies one to left center. Son Raphaela calls off Jiren Duran and one two three on eight pitches again for Gilito. Comebacker past Cruz at Michael Massie who retires Trevor Story for the first out in the seventh. Nick Sogard chops one into the ground at Salvador Perez. Couple ground ball outs for Cruz following Seth Lugo who went six innings and the three runs righty lefty to finish out the lineup. Hamilton in the air to left. Jonathan India makes it a one two three seventh for Steven Cruz. This is pulled to short and stabbed by Story. Well, Perez finally found some hard contact against Gelo today. 2-2. Gelo dots 95 for strike three called and there’s two away. That’s gas. You know, we talk about his four seamer being really good at the top of the zone. Started the first couple of games of the weekend and gets jammed up the middle right at David Hamilton. One pitch, seventh is over in Kansas City. Right on the ground and past the dive of Mikel Garcia. So, the extra time pays off for Narvz who legs into second with a leadoff double to begin the eighth inning. He just keeps doing it, right? keeps finding hard contact. He’s not gone first pitch swinging those first two trips like you pointed out. Squares here and St. Don drops down a good one. Lynch fires to first to get Raphaela whose sack is successful. Lynch fires. Durant strikes out. 02 in on the hands and Bregman went around according to Manny Gonzalez. And so the Red Sox leave two like that. Justin Wilson who gets Waters swinging with a fast ball up. Another 02 on the way from Justin Wilson. Swinging a miss. Much better slider that time. And there’s two away with a couple strikeouts here in the eighth inning. That’s one two popped up. Behind home plate, Carlos Narvay locates and ends the inning as Weisser does his job in the [Applause] eighth. Two two story. He reaches out, pops one to short right at Drew Waters for the first out. Well, we mentioned Lucas Gilito was excellent. Stackcast 3D. Two-run game, ninth inning. Two-2. Sogard pulls it to right. It sends Waters back and he’ll haul it in for out number two. Not going and Hamilton strikes out. Chapman for the bottom of the ninth for the Red Sox up two with punched out three times swinging today. And he goes first pitch swinging. Pops it up into the sunny sky along first for Nick Sogard in foul ground for one away. Can Chapman get him here? One, two. Pull left field. Durant on the move and he slides to make the catch for out number two. Tremendous play. Tremendous play by Jiren Durant right here. It’s a line low liner, which is a hard read for an outfielder. First pitch in for strike one. He’s just pouring in first pitch strikes. Ready with another 2- two. popped up. Foul ground near first. Nick Sogard battling the sun ends a Red Sox win and the Socks take the series in Kansas City. This is all about Lucas Golito. The bounceback outing to give this team a chance to win. Go six and two/3 just one run and it was unearned. One walk, five strikeouts. And I thought what was great with him, the command was really good, but he was effective with breaking balls, which he hasn’t been in his first two starts this

  1. Wilyer Abreu is going to put up a good amount of dingers this season. He’s on fire. His 10 HRs are tied with Kyle Tucker, Trent Grisham, Brent Rooker, Spencer Torkelson, Pete Crow-Armstrong and James Wood. He is ahead of the likes of Mike Trout, Francisco Lindor, Teoscar Hernandez, Fernando Tatis Jr and Pete Alonso.

This is Wilyer’s breakout year. This Boston team has so much potential. As long as we commit fewer errors than we have done this season.
