Dallas Cowboys’ Stephen Jones SOUNDS OFF on Micah Parsons Contract, George Pickens Trade, & Dak!

What is going on everybody? Welcome back to Attack on Cowboys. And today, Stephven Jones is doing some talking. And I’mma keep it real y’all. Stephen, he actually has been a man of his word this off seasonason as the Cowboys damn sure have been selectively aggressive. And he honestly hasn’t said much that should piss Cowboys fans off. So, let’s go ahead and take a listen to his interview on Mad Dog Radio as he discusses Dak Prescott, the George Pickins trade, and an update on Micah Parson’s contract situation. Be sure to subscribe for more Dallas Cowboys content every single day, literally even during offseason. And check out Attack on Cowboys on your favorite audio platform, Spotify, Apple Podcast, whatever it may be. All of those links are in the description below. And you guys have been asking me about the Sybau shirts. That link is also in the description. Those shirts have already launched for those of y’all that’s been asking me about SYBA merch. It’s already out. So, check it out and let’s get right into it, man. Shut your up. All right, Stephen. Let’s see if you can keep your streak of of of good press going here. And the first thing we’re going to start off with is we’re going to actually start with this quote concerning Micah Parson’s contract situation. This is from John Macho. It says, quote, I’ve never been one to crystal ball when contracts get done. You can be close. You think you’re right around the corner and then they get pushed out and there’s extenduating circumstances as to why they or their agent don’t want to pull the trigger. So, that’s just a work in progress. It’s never easy to comment on them because you really don’t know where you are until both sides are ready to go. But obviously our goal is to and we have visited with Micah at times and our goal is to get him here and I think Micah wants to be a cowboy and we want him to be a cowboy long term. Look y’all, I’mma be completely honest with y’all. Matter of fact, can I give y’all a sip of reality right here, bro? Get your morning joe. Get your coffee. Hell, it ain’t my business. Get a drink if you need to and let’s dive right into this. For the blue in the sky. From a dream to a movement. Now we can’t stop. Cowboys forever. All right. So look y’all, let’s keep this a buck. Does it actually matter when Michael Parson’s contract get done at this point? Because remember, the only reason we ever cared about the timing of when these contracts got done in the first place is when we felt like the timing would be what would keep the Cowboys from being competitive when it matters in free agency, in the off season, in the draft, whatever it may be through trades. We felt like that the timing with these contracts is what was stopping the Cowboys from doing that. They’ve already made good on that, y’all. They’ve had an hell of a free agency period as far as satisfying some depth concerns with the team. They had a hell of an NFL draft and they’ve made some very selectively and smartly aggressive trades. So quite frankly, I feel like they’re pretty much done roster acquisitionwise this off seasonason. Unless there’s an interesting postjune first cut candidate coming, I just don’t see the Cowboys actually doing much more to the roster than what they’ve done already. And I think they’re in good enough position to where now this team can be competitive with pretty much anyone. As long as guys play up to their potential. I cannot stress that part enough. As long as guys play up to their potential, this team should be able to be competitive with pretty much any team in the NFL right now. If I’m being completely honest now, I’m not saying they’re going to win a Super Bowl like Troy Apen said. And we’re going to get that on another show. So, be sure to subscribe. But I am saying that this team is competitive and and quite frankly we don’t need or honestly should we care of when the timing of Michael Parson’s contract get done cuz I’m going to tell y’all right now it’s 100% getting done. The Cowboys are already starting to make good on some of the things that that they promised they were going to do for Michael Parsons as it pertains to his contract negotiations and everything like that. I don’t know if you guys actually noticed this, but the Cowboys are now actually pushing a live stream or a podcasting type of scenario with Micah Parson. So, all those hopes about Micah stopping the edge and all, no, no, no, no. Y’all, y’all could put that to the side. The Cowboys own official YouTube channel is going to be streaming like a countdown to schedule release. Um, and it’s going to feature Micah CD, Tyler Smith, Osa, Diggy Zooa. So, the Cowboys are already kind of showing that Micah is part of the fabric of this organization and the organization is even starting to evolve a little bit to complement Micah in certain aspects. And spoiler actually little behind the scenes here, Jerry promised Micah that he would go and and help him in some of his other business endeavors outside of just being paid and stuff. Jerry actually spoke to Micah about supporting him in some of his other business endeavors. And you can’t tell me that this some this right here don’t look like some of that. All right. So, that contract is coming. I don’t care if it gets done an hour before a kickoff. I don’t care if it gets done tomorrow. It’s coming. And that’s the only thing that we need to be worried about. Unless something takes a drastic turn, then honestly, this is a this is a non-story at this point. Michael Parsons will be a Dallas Cowboy. It’s just a matter of when, not if, right? So, we can go ahead and move on from that aspect of what Stephen Jones talked about today. All right. So, this first question we’re going to get into, and I’m skipping past the actual interviewer’s questions, cuz man, that they were long and drawn. He he took 40 seconds to ask a question. Essentially, the question here is, “What are expectations for the Cowboys passing game this upcoming season with the addition of Pickkins and Dak coming back off an injury, etc., etc.” Let’s listen. As you said, I think we’re starting to add the weapons. Dak traditionally, uh, you know, historically, not traditionally, has come back after an injury or a tough season and followed it up with a a great year. Uh, facts. Absolute facts. The year he broke his ankle, he came back, had an amazing gear, should have won comeback player of the year, but got cheated. The year he had that broken thumb and threw more interceptions than he normally does and people was on his ass. He came back the next season, had a near MVP type season. So, Stephen ain’t lying. a couple of years ago. He came off an injury and a tough year and he followed it up with an MVP type of season season. Fully expect that again. Dak’s such a competitor. Uh you add the weapons as you said, George and CD. We love our addition of Jaden Blue, the back from Texas with his uh speed and juice that he can bring uh not only uh running the ball, but to the passing game. And then of course uh hopefully it makes sense now. It’s not the sexiest picks. Uh, you know when you take the best guard in uh college football with Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I knew. Hey, Stephen said, “I’m about to come back around and make sure that I tell y’all I told y’all asses.” So, and be patient. Stephen said, “Yeah, I know it’s not the sexiest pick, but when you get the guard Tyler Booker, hopefully it makes more sense now what we had going on.” You know what, Stephen? Y’all deserve that one. Y’all deserve to throw a shot here and there, especially when y’all put in work the way y’all did this off season. Talk a little bit of smack. Talk a little bit of smack. We got We shy Steven out here with your first round pick. Uh but I think now that everybody’s seeing the uh you know, our pieces come together with him and Tyler Smith at the guards. You know, we spent a one on Gayton and Paige Steel and then Cooper BB. uh you know, I think we’re really got the resources in the offensive line to give Dak uh what he needs. Okay. So, I I want y’all to pick up a couple of things here that he put down. For one, he he specifically mentioned Jaden Blue, right? It sounds like or at least seems like to me Stephen Jones and pictures Jaden Blue being the starting running back here at some point. That’s what it feels like just based off of him specifically mentioning him out of all 18 running backs we got on the roster. He brought up Jaden Blue. Then he talked about how the offensive line, it sounds like to me Tyler Gayton is a part of their future plans. It sounds to me they’re not giving up on Tyler Gayton. They’re not giving up on Terrence Steel. So we could forget any thoughts about them maybe cutting a Terence Steel post June 1st or anything like that. I don’t think any of that stuff is happening. I think the Cowboys are satisfied with their offensive line. So that’s a little that’s a little nugget that we picked up there. I think that they feel like they’ve done a a good job building this line out. But more so than that is uh to be able to run the football even at a higher level. Yeah. Yeah. And that’s important. I’m glad he mentioned that as well. So, I like that right there. Essentially, Stephen Jones just expects the offense to be a high octane offense like it usually is anytime Dak Prescott is healthy and especially after he comes off of somewhat of a down season, which has only happened like two times in his career. Um, but anytime he’s had like a down season or injuryprone year, he comes back super strong. And I think that he has the weapons this time to come back even stronger than we’ve pretty much ever seen him come back, right? Um, with the two receivers you have, you have Jake Ferguson out there, you got Jaden Blue and that and that mafia of running backs that’s in there. So, I think the I think the Dak Prescott and this offense set up to to to surprise some people and Philly are probably going to be our first set of victims. All right, next up, this is Stephen Jones talking about George Pickins. Well, first of all, we look at him uh you know, it’s just two starting receivers out there. We don’t necessarily even think uh we think him as more than a two when when we were looking at the deal. Uh I mean and I agree with that. I mean factually he is more than a two. He was the number one receiver for Pittsburgh the last couple of seasons. So you can’t get a number one receiver bring him over here and because we have a CD already you demote this dude to a number two. He’s not a number two. He’s a 1B type of guy. So I like this. Certainly, we looked at the draft, uh, you know, in terms of scratching an itch, uh, you know, uh, seeing what might be available there in the draft, but here you get a guy who’s got experience who who’s had great success in the NFL. Uh, obviously a tremendous competitor. Uh, he reminds a lot in our building of Dez Bryant in terms of There it is. There’s the Dez Bryant comparison. And I knew that’s what they probably really liked about George Pickis. He plays a little bit like Dez, too. jump ball guy. Not going to create a whole lot of separation, but it’s more than a 50-50 ball when you throw it his way, right? You know, his competitiveness and uh you know, what he brings to the field, his edge. And uh you know, we were, as I said, we were looking at the draft as a way uh to look at uh uh filling that need uh when it didn’t happen. Uh you know, we had some God dang ah is your favorite term. a opportunities around the league that we were looking at and this one uh you know at the end of the day made the most sense and uh whether it was a I’m about to start doing a uh counter anytime we listen to these I’m going to start having a uh counter in the corner somewhere. Coach Senheimer and his offensive staff looking at him whether Will Mccclelay and the personnel group obviously Jerry and myself uh felt like this was the best uh action for us and uh certainly one that made a lot of sense to us. And I mean, and I agree. I I really like the move. I think that you got a young receiver that probably hasn’t even really scratched his prime yet. If we’re being honest, he’s only a couple years into the league. I don’t think George Pickins has actually scratched his prime. You got a young receiver that’s going to come in. He has a chip on his shoulder. He’s already proven that he can be an effective NFL wide receiver. He’s already proven that he can beat some of the better DBs in the NFL and man coverage one-on-one. So, I think that this was an amazing trade. And honestly, the only way you could have possibly done better than George Pickkins in my opinion is maybe a Garrett Wilson, but does Garrett Wilson actually bring you the type of temperament that you need on this team? That injection of nastiness that George Pickkins brings you? I don’t think so. So, I think George Pickins might have actually been the perfect move for the Dallas Cowboys. I like everything that Stephen Jones just said there. And just overall, the Cowboys have done an excellent job filling this team out and putting this team in this roster and position to where, hey, now you have the tools. Figure out how to build this house, right? Either way, appreciate you guys tuning in. Please be sure to subscribe for more Dallas Cowboys content on the regular. 1. Let’s be honest with Micah’s contract. When has Jerry ever let go of one of his guys never. But I’m digging your new cinematics you have on the channel man!!!

  2. We should 10000000% care that this parsons deal comes quickly. Pay him now at 41-42 per year before the league starts paying their top guys. Before you know it Micah’s deal ain’t done and the market rates gonna be reaching 50 per year for him

  3. All of this hate that's coming out now about Dallas after they made the GP signing let's me know Dallas got it right!!! I hope CeeDee and GP are Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper 2025!!!

  4. We're taking a loss Week 1 against the Eagles. Dak will stink it up as usual. We officially have the worst quarterback in the division. Yes even Russell Wilson is way more mobile than that and has skins on the wall.

  5. Love the upgrades to the channel. AOC gettin profesh!

Couldn't agree more about Micah's contract. As long as he stays a Cowboy, who cares when the contract gets done?

Hell, they might be tryna fix that relationship with Micah's agent since Pickens has the same agent. Court that man and make him excited to get that Jerry Jones money!

  6. I truly believe Pickens was the best 1B wide receiver to bring to Dallas him and Ceedee are going to shine in Dallas can't wait until the season starts 💙💙💙💙💙💙

  7. I agree with Voch go get Amari Cooper too 🤷🏿‍♂️ don’t have to have so much usage shouldn’t be expensive knows Dak and is a route runner savvy Vet ! If you look at those dirty filthy hoe bird trash can Champion 😑 eagles the one thing there Gm is not afraid to do is add more talent at every position and I don’t blame him

  8. 5 year 45m would be a winning negotiation. I wouldnt be surprised with 4 year 50m either. Damn QB money. They gotta vote on a positional salary cap and stop letting players handicap teams

  9. Why not add keenan allen and gilmore to our roster depth. They are cheap available FAs that would play for a little over the vet limit just outta respect. Allen has less drops in 3 years than Cooooop had in one season. Gilmore is a must have because our vorner room eas scary bad last year. 8 diff corners last year. I know we got a few now and we have Izzy who was pretty good in his role. Still Gilly would put it to bed and imagine CD Pickens Keenan and Turpin w Ferg and Sanders/Williams/Blue or Cooks on the practice squad
