The STATE of the BILLS OFFENSE: Expectations, CONCERNS and JOSH bleeping ALLEN

What is the current state of the Bills’ offense? We all know Josh Allen makes the entire offense better, but who will step up this year to make HIS life EASIER? Will it be Dalton Kincaid or Keon Coleman? What could the offensive line look like in 2026?

Mike, Jenna and Dan give their thoughts on the State of the Bills’ Offense on the latest episode of the Buffalo Plus Podcast.

  1. I have zero concern about the offense its the other side that needs to step up big time this year. Josh Palmer is going to be very good with us. People forget most of his career so far he had keenan allen and mike williams ahead of him. Both of those guys have been very productive and palmer always made plays given the opportunity.

  2. there’s only ONE football to go around.. and somehow you can’t grasp that the Bills offensive identity is BALANCE. Kincaid isn’t a disappointment.. he’s a product of sharing touches, at Brady’s design. but u want him to be a ball dominant player and snag 100 catches.. all while getting Shakir his 100.. and Keon his 100.. and Knox.. and Cook.. and Palmer.. and Samuel

You guys don’t know ball.. I’m convinced

  3. @BuffaloPlus – the next time you interview McD or Beane, can you ask about the rumors that Kincaid already had knee surgery this o/s, please?? That would SUCK, and the fact that nobody’s come out to publicly deny it yet is a bit concerning. Thanks
    🙏 🦬❤️💙❤️💙

  4. Bills tight ends. Take a look at Cover1 analysis of Kincaid – it appears that "under performed" might not be all on Kincaid. Perhaps Brady needs to rethink how to scheme for Kincaid. Dawson Knox is underrated – he seems to make clutch catches.

  5. All of these statistics, what are the stats on year 2 of some of the better tight ends, or players of the past? I feel like a lot of players take a step back in year 2 before bouncing back. Yes/No?

  6. I love buffalo plus but they was wrong last season on t he offense and keep doubling down on being wrong admit it abd sill do it and how bills got ELIJAH moore bilks did it eith a tougher scedule last season but some how by buffalo plus ligic bills cant do it this season with a easier schedule makes no sense

  7. I don't believe in nitpicking success. Improving a team is a positive reaction…nitpicking is a negative reaction, and nitpicking success is a ridiculous reaction.

  8. Interesting to discuss the players, but perhaps a stronger focus on Brady's offensive approach and play calling is warranted as well (how to go from great to elite?). For example, staying with the tush push when it was clear KC had found a way to stop it. Self-examination and better analytics are definitely needed to improve game planning and in-game adjustments.

  9. Jenna's new job is to buy the god child the most annoying toys known to mankind.
I'm thinking the defense makes things easier for JA. Stronger defense makes life much easier for the offense. Kincaid has a better year, Coleman has more TD's, love Knox but this is his last year in Buffalo(money), Palmer leads the team in yards per catch. Bills run the ball more with Ray Davis if they feel they can't work things out with Cook. I really hope they keep Cook, he's doing what you hoped he do when you drafted him. I want him resigned and given the ball more, I don't think that will happen.

  10. Love the show but what are we doing here?!? I understand you need to manufacture controversy but I have ZERO concerns with the offense. We have JA17. Did Brady ever have this level of scrutiny when his receiving corps was Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Danny Amendola, Josh Boyce, Matthew Slater, Brian Tyms?!? Defense has been the issue for the last several years. Biggest issue with the offense….pay James Cook.

  11. We didn’t have a 1000 yard receiver last season and I believe we upgraded at the position! So why would we need to worry abt someone getting a 1000 yards ???????

  12. I'm really concerned about Beanes ability/willingness to put together an offensive roster around Josh. He's either forgotten what works well with Josh or just refuses.

  13. I’ve been watching this channel since day one and Mikes take on Josh Allen was spot on ! Who can he count on in the playoffs? Even when Digs was here u couldn’t count on him in the playoffs!

  14. What do you think of the idea of bringing Poyer back for one final season so he can retire a Bill? I LOVE HIM and think he still has some gas in the tank and could be very useful! Thoughts?

  15. Y’all judge the bills offensive weapons based on your personal opinions they were actually really good last year one of the best offenses IN THE NFL. What are you freaking talking about?

  16. As a Tight End Knox is the better all around Tight End. Kincaid was drafted more as a receiver role than tight end. Unfortunately for Kincaid he has not lived up to the hype.

  17. 100 percent agree. If interested, please read this ChatGPT summary about Kincaid when I posed the question of whether or not the Bills reached by assuming his dominance of the PAC-12 would translate into Kelce-like numbers in the NFL:

    1. College Dominance vs. NFL Matchups
    • Utah’s offensive scheme allowed Kincaid to dominate smaller, slower defenders in the Pac-12—often isolated against linebackers or zone defenses with soft coverage.
    • At 6’4”, 240 lbs, he was too fast for LBs and too physical for college safeties. But in the NFL:
    • Linebackers run 4.5–4.6 with better coverage technique.
    • Safeties are often 6’0”, 210 lbs and run sub-4.5.
    • Nickel defenders and even hybrid safeties like Kyle Hamilton (6’4”, 220, 4.59) erase the size-speed mismatch.

Translation: His mismatch advantage is mostly gone.

    2. Physical Traits: Not Quite WR, Not Quite TE
    • Blocking: At 240 lbs, Kincaid is undersized compared to traditional TEs (e.g., Kelce ~250, Kittle ~250, Goedert ~255).
    • He struggles at the point of attack and can’t be used inline like a Gronk or Kittle.
    • Speed: He didn’t test at the Combine, but by most reports he’s in the 4.65–4.7 range.
    • That’s average to below average for a WR, and not elite for a TE.
    • Strength & Explosion: Also unverified due to injury during pre-draft, which raised red flags for some teams.

    Comparison to Claypool is fair:
    • Claypool: 6’4”, 238, 4.42, 40.5” vert
    • Kincaid: 6’4”, 240, ~4.65? (unconfirmed), unknown vert

Yet Claypool is often criticized for not being quick enough in tight spaces and not nuanced enough as a route runner, which are now questions facing Kincaid at TE.

    3. NFL Role & Expectations
    • Bills likely wanted a Kelce clone, especially in a scheme that’s been dying for a true slot dominator since Cole Beasley’s decline.
    • But Kelce is:
    • Bigger (250 lbs)
    • Quicker in short spaces (elite short-area agility)
    • Exceptional at feel for zones and creating yards after the catch

Kincaid is more of a hybrid WR/TE without elite traits in either bucket:
    • He’s not twitchy or fast enough to win consistently as a WR.
    • He’s not strong enough to dominate as an inline TE or red zone threat.

    4. So What Is He?
    • He might end up being a move tight end / big slot in the mold of:
    • Zach Ertz (but Ertz had better route nuance)
    • Jordan Reed (who was quicker and shiftier)
    • Mike Gesicki (who is struggling to find a role himself)

    Conclusion:

You’re on point. Kincaid was a dominant college TE because of mismatches that don’t exist at the NFL level. Now, without elite speed, size, or blocking ability, he’s caught in a gray area. The Bills may have drafted him envisioning Kelce, but what they got—at least so far—resembles a less explosive Claypool playing out of position.

He could still evolve into a useful piece, but the scheme and matchup engineering will need to be precise. Otherwise, he risks becoming a luxury piece that doesn’t fit the core needs of an offense.😂

  18. Just started watching this but I guarantee Dan will say, “And that’s the open” thinking he’s so funny and original 🙄. If he doesn’t, it’ll be the first time he didn’t say it in like 15 pods in a row…

  19. Mike are you coming for a shepherd university graduation? Or spring mills, martinsburg, Jefferson, or musselman HS graduation?

I know it has to be the panhandle if it’s 5 hours from ROC

  20. Kincaid is gonna ball this year. He was getting open a bunch and Josh was missing him. Their chemistry will develop and he'll have a big year.
