HIGHLIGHTS: Game 1 Colorado Eagles vs Abbotsford Canucks | AHL Calder Cup Playoffs
Whites. A clash of two Pacific Division Titans is here. Puck is down and away we go. Game one underway. Phillips off the faceoff. Dumps it in deep. He’s coming off a strong first round against the Barracuda. This entire line is Magna Feliper and Phillips. And here’s Phillips towards the slot. He missed. Feliper passes a bit behind him. And now Breeze tracks him down. Feeds it in front. Stolen Magna. He shoots. stopped by Sheil and goes out of play. Oh, just 22 seconds in. A great chance for Magna. And now some pushing and shoving after the fact. The captain was wide open after a turnover from Breez. He looked short side on Sheilaw but was denied and the puck went out of play. Boy, you couldn’t ask for a better chance for the visitors as Magna can’t believe it as she loss is into this one very early on. And there’ll be a face off to his right as we get to a look at the replay. Magna looked like he hit the goal stick of Sheilops and goes out of play. Close call that’ll in his own end for Stevens and he’s decked to the ice by Sammy Blade. Oh, Sammmy is into this series early on. His last shift lower the shoulder. Now another one as Poland goes down. Three big hits from BL as a puck goes over the glass in the neutral zone for a whistle. And Sammy has been doing that all playoffs. And it injects life not only into his team but these fans as well. And earlier if you’re watching at home, Jet Woo with a great check on Feliver who tried to chip it past him. And Stevens taking the blow there from BL and then he went across to the other side of the rank and threw Poland down this series. And it’s a great call because some of the Eagles best players are undersized in Phillips and Tinan. And if you can have the likes of those players hesitate a bit and a big hit by Neielson. He steals it. He’s behind the defense. Neielson got hooked. That’ll be a penalty. Maybe a penalty shot. Whistle sounds and it’s going to be the our ref still hasn’t decided. Probably a hooking call and that is the case. What a shift from Neielson who was physical in game four against Coachella and has continued that on here early on against the Eagles. Able to steal it at the attacking line. Was hounded from behind. Still got in tight towards Minor and then got hooked. And the first power play of the series belongs to Abbottzford. And just great hustle and determination. Neielson throwing his man to the ice and then stealing it and then getting hooked from behind by Wyatt Amed. So the Canucks with the seventh ranked power play in the playoffs operating at 20% go to work against an Eagle squad that is ranked sixth in playoff penalty killing 84.9%. Sammy Blade leads a Canucks. Sassin in front ends up to the point for breeze ball. He’ll te up a shot. Missed the net. Miner didn’t see it. Lecter Mackey stays in the play. Sassin trying to get it to him. He’s tied up and McDonald chips into his own bench. We have seen some huge collisions tonight, folks. And the latest is McDonald lowering the shoulder on Lecter Mackey who didn’t see him coming. And now we get a little bit of a scrum as the intensity has really picked up. You wondered how long it would take for the post whistle altercations to begin. And it didn’t take long as these two teams need to be separated by the officials. And we’re getting a look at TJ Tining’s injury. He looked like he tripped over Ty Meler. We’ll keep an eye on his status. Back out to neutral ice. Simon will dish it back into his own zone. 30 left of the power play. 17 left in the period. Outlet feed for Phillips. Right wing side. Ducks his way through. Looks up high. Finds a man. Un drive. sends it over. Rebound in front. Shot just set wide. What a chance. Right to the side of the crease. Stolen away by Carol. And that’s going to do it for the first period. 13 remaining in the power play for Colorado. And boy oh boy, I don’t know how that one did not find its way to the back of the net. Wow. Camped out in front and it just came off the end wall and it was just a redirection back on net. And you’re right. Let’s take a look at it here, Kevin. Yeah, Matthew Phillips and then it was Ivan Ivan who got that secondary crack and boy oh boy you had Sheilops down face first in the splits and that whole top third was open and that one it looked like it may have been deflected by Gil Breez as it was headed towards lean the other way rolls into the Abbottzford zone. Woo banks it to Cara and Assuri Native finds Sammy Blé. Here he comes down the right wing. Cuts to the middle. BL to Herros. Left wing shot stopped by Miner. Herros follows up. Throws it in front. Jet moves wide open. He shoots and he’s stopped by Miner. No rebound. There’s the Kuck’s best chance as Cara mixes it up after the whistle. And now eight of the 10 players getting involved. Officials doing their best trying to break these two teams up. What a setup by Herrosce behind the net finding his partner Jet Woo goes club side and Miner confidently snatches that one down as a goalender didn’t face any shots up until that point. He stopped Harros and then Jet Woo with a golden opportunity and the former Van now Waters takes a shot off the glove. Rebound loose in front. It ends up back behind the net. Kucks still have it. Left corner Chase Waters to the point. Breez over to Cole Mcuart. Snap shot intentionally wide. Ends up in the corner for Neielson. He’s tied up by Felibbert. Puck is knocked free to Phillips and he’ll lift it the other way. Not enough for icing. Kuck starting to find their legs here in the second period. Waters dumps it in. Neielson on the for check up against Stevens, his former teammate here in Abbottzford. Dino Cam bites down there. Knocks it free in front looking for Neielen and it rolls to Miner who covers in the crease. Neielson was open for a second there but got closed on and then ended up towards the Colorado net minder. 1227 to go and Abbottzford doing a good job of winning battles in the corners. They’re using their D getting towards the blue paint and now they have the last three shots of this game. Still 0 and Trent Miner getting his fifth start of these playoffs and it is his net to lose. There is no question about that as he played in all four games last round against San Jose, won three of four and has lodged just five goals over his last three starts. And he’s a good story because he was in the ECHL for a bit last season and also in each of the previous two campaigns of the Utah Grizzlies and now he’s not only starting tied up from behind. Now Bla knocks down Titan. Didn’t see him coming. And now Blade gets headlocked and thrown to the ice. Play goes on as Herros gets it down low for Cara. He’s all by himself and he hit the post. What a chance for Karen Tight off a feed from Herros. Remain zero Z as the Eagles chip it in deep, but they did it before the red line. It’s an icing call. 10:33 to go. A couple of glorious opportunities in the period. The first one Jet Woo a few minutes ago. And now Jujar Cara who got behind the defense stick handled in tight and then put it off the post. What a chance and a great hold on the blue line there by Herros to make it all happen. And Cena with a good hold. Shoots it to the right corner for Neielson. Now behind the net, Carlson. Left wing feeds Sammy Blake. Bling to take it towards the net in front. Shot by Mueller. He [Applause] scores. The Eagles had chances to clear. They couldn’t do it and Sammy Blade ends up feeding Ty Mueller in the slot and the rookie has his first career Calder Cup playoff goal and he just open the scoring in game one. It’s a power play marker. A shot beating Miner Club side and this place waves the towels. They’re fired up. It is one nothing Abbottzford. What a job by Blen Mancini. seconds before that holding the line somehow. The Eagles looked like they had a great chance to clear not once but twice. But Mancini able to shoot it around the net and comes back to play up the left wall. He takes it hard towards the slot, finds Mueller and it’s one- nothing Conucks with 435 to go as Mueller continues his fantastic playoffs. The numbers aren’t eye popping, but it’s the other stuff that he is doing that not a lot of rookies can do in the call to come. Omit chips it off a stick to center for Phillips. Threeon-ree rush the other way for Colorado. Phillips stops on the left wing. Plays it to the point. One-time by Amed is blocked by a sliding play. Amit gets it back and chips it down low. Phillips in front wide open chance. She loves the save and he’s got it. What an opportunity as Sammy Bl is down after the shot block. There’s carnage everywhere. There’s a skate blade and a stick broken in three different places laying on the ice right now. What a setup by Phillips in front finding Olowen and he’s absolutely robbed by Sheilovs with 16 seconds on the clock. Here’s a shot block by Play who went down to get in front of it and then the puck found Phillips behind that who chopped it in front for Wise. Actually, it wasn’t allows and wise with a huge opportunity stopped by Sheilovs and it just stuck to his gear. And now the concern is Sammy play as he was laying on the ice the entire time. But I think his skate blade might have popped out. That’s why as he’s staying on the bench and yes, he gets the skate blade from one of the officials. So that’s the second time some steel has popped out of a player skate. Much times left. Finds Baines and he’ll just eat the puck against the boards. Two seconds left. Uh, scrum ensues and time’s going to run out as McDonald’s blast one wide. That was actually closer than I thought. And now tiny getting into it with Mancini. Big size difference there. You don’t want to do that, TJ. Victor Mancini is almost 230 lb. And you, my friend, are 165. But give him credit for not backing down to a much bigger player. Gets to it himself. Lost the edge goes down. P still free along the boards. Eagles get to it. Wise cross ice. Rosen, winds, fires, deflects, just went wide. Rebound into the corner. Eagles after it again. Blow it skates up the half wall. Lost the puck in the process. Joselled for wise in there along with breeze blah finally is freed up. Eagles reel it in. McDonald up high. Gives it off. Foody back for McDonald. Left point centers it one time. Allow it and a glove save by Gilog picked up. DJeppy shakes off some physical play and sends it behind the net. Zomb after it now deep in his own zone. Carlson comes in, picks it up, gets cleared out with a big cross check there by Cali Rose and Eagles dodge a bullet on that one as the arm doesn’t go up on the official. Finally fed free. One hand on the twig able to pull it loose and get it moving. And now, oh boy, Rosen takes a punch to the face from Carlson on the ice and play rolls on. It’s right in front of the referee. Finally blown dead. I mean, when I say right in front of the referee, I mean he was standing over them as all of that was unfolding. And it was the FAR referee who finally blew the whistle. Rodie Sutter was just kind of taking it to show there. And it looks like matching miners going against Rosen and Carlson who head off to their respective penalty boxes. Oh, if you make the initial call there, the ref touch it. Four-on-on four for the first time. Baines takes a lead feed the other way. One-on-one against Levig. Baines spins it all alone. Bane stopped by Miner with the back hand and he’s got it. Oh, Bane’s had Levig in a bit of a pretzel there and created space for himself on that spin chance. And Miner makes a big stop to make it keep it one- nothing. Fans get a rise of that effort from our Steve Baines, the team’s leading scoreer in the regular season as he was looking for room glove side and Miner did look behind him but had it the whole way. Still one- nothing Conucks with 920 on the clock. Faceoff here between Sassin and Tynan. Eat some clock. 3:25 to go. I’m sure Trent Miner not long for this game as Abbisford continues to lead one- nothing. McDonald around his net. can’t get away from Carlson. DJ Sepi behind over to the right side. Mueller helping him out. Back door pass comes in front and Miner keeps it out and Carlson took an extra whack and then drops TJ Tinan and he’s going to get a penalty for that. So the Eagles getting a late power play with 308 to go after Miner just made a alert stop on a ricochet. Carlson is looking for the rebound and they got attacked. And then Carlson with the last shove on Titan. And boy oh boy, what an opportunity for the Eagles. If they want, they can pull their goalie and make it a sixon four. I don’t know how Niner kept that out. Great job squeez squeezing his pads on the goal line. Colorado’s 0 for two on the power play. Their biggest advantage of the game coming right now. Titan goes down after Carlson shoved him in the face, dropped his stick, and the ref was right there to make the call. Fans think it was a bit of a dive. Goes in the corner for Wise. He’ll play it to the point for Rosen. Time running out. 10 seconds left. Mansini steals. He’s got an empty net. Victor Mansini shoots. He [Applause] scores. Good night. Game one. will go to Abbottzford. Victor Mancini with a solo effort picks up the pass and scores his first career CER Cup playoff goal and this place goes [Applause] insane. Victor, how do you do a big league play to say this one is over? Abbottzford two, Colorado no score. 6 seconds to go. We’re back underway for a second straight game. Ar she loves and the atmosphere connects pitch a shut out. Let’s get out of here. This one’s [Applause] [Music] over. Another defensive gem and another shout out for Arthur. She loves his second in a row. and third of these playoffs. And the Conucks are off to a great start to round three as John Ludvig steals the game puck, which the Canucks want to add to their ladder in the locker room where they put the game puck into a slot. John Levig, like Chris Pronger back in the day, takes the puck and says, “I’m out of here.” And Absford is not happy, but hey, you won the game.

Arty party!!
Silovs just finds another level during playoff hockey
Thank you for the free stream tonight
Arty baby look at this champ
Sad yet happy that this is the Canucks team that's the best…
Shout out to Silovs shutout and performance between the pipes, shout out to Team Abbotsford Canucks, GO ABBOTSFORD GO.
Was at the game, Eagles were floppinng and whining all game long. They became too focused on the game after the whistles rather than between them. Canucks stuck it hard to them all game long.
The wheels on Mancini…the big team needs more of that from the back end
got the 69th like. nice.
The.commentator that came in at 3:50 should be doing the NHL. What a voice!
Lol buddy stole the puck. We win meanwhile the Eagles taking what doesn't matter 💪💪💪
The Abby fans showed their class during the singing of the American anthem.Half way into it the singer forgot the words and the fans sing the rest of it with all their hearts.😊
