  1. It’s tough because the massive contracts prevent Toronto from having adequate depth.

Either way, if they blow it up someone else will get a quality player.

  2. The biggest problem with the Leafs “Core” is games 5-7 every year. Marner has played 6 game 7s he’s -7 with 2 assists. Sure Matthews score in game 6 this year, but those 2 guys under performing every year when it gets tough is the reason they are in the situation yesr after year.

  3. Can we stop pretending that certain parts of fucking hockey don’t exist because we want to cherry pick how our belief in how shitty a player is, is valid?

    – First it was “nothing matters but playoffs”
    – then it’s “games 1-3 don’t matter”
    – then it’s “game 7 only matters”

So apparently all of the 82 games season and apparently… games 1-3 in each playoff round don’t matter or count.

    That’s legitimately insane.

  4. Toronto bottom six is awful, nobody contributed except domi. They dont have a top pair of demns. reilly is a second paid defenseman.

  5. I like Rantanen on this graph.

I do not like McDavid and Drais so close to him on this graph.

  6. This is a garbage post. Uses totals, with xGF in all situations. Obviously players who have played the most total minutes and played heavy PP time and little to no PK are going to have a great difference in xGF. 5on5, Matthews had a 53% xGF, Marner 51%, Nylander 50% and Tavares 48%. Comparatively, McDavid 65%, draisaitl 66%, Marchand 62%…”Best players from the first two rounds”… Lol what a joke of a post
