California Dub | Bubic Dominates in West Coast Thriller

Game one of this three game series between the Giants and the Royals. I expect to see a pitching battle, similar stories. I mean, both these guys were coming off of Tommy John last year, came back to the season. Robbie Ray went into the rotation. Bubbi went into the bullpen. He went up being the eighth inning guy when they went into the playoffs and he was a really good reliever. So this year he’s in the rotation again. So both guys reconstructed. They’re both thrown with a lot of confidence. Giants, of course is the left handed. Robbie Robbie had an excellent year. He’s 6 to 0. The Giants are undefeated in games that he has pitched on the mound tonight against Kansas City. This game get started. Here is Bobby Wood. Junior. Junior hits it hard to left field and Ramos won’t get it. And now it’s going to skip by him and Bobby will stop at second base with a one out double misread it because Junior usually hits it back in a long way, but he barreled it all. It was hard to pick up the sound and when the ball hit it plugged and got by, this is slowly hit and it’s going to be a tough play, but Robbie keeps it from being a real tough play and Bobby will go to third the one strike pitch swing and there’s a high fly ball into center out in the sunshine battling the elements out there. Jung Ho makes the catch in on the hill tonight for the Kansas City Royals will be the left hander. Chris local kid out of Cupertino went to Archbishop High school in San Jose. Then on to Stanford where he was a first round pick by the Royals back in 2018 delivers and Ramos pops it up first base side, foul territory, pass, ambles back back pedaling makes the grab with Michael Massey sliding behind him to get out of the way. Passino hauls it in Ramos is out one gone in the bottom of the first inning. Here’s the pitch. Flores hits it in the air, shallow center field. Michael Massey ranges out backpedaling. He makes the catch above his blue cap. Flores is out too gone. Hit on the ground to the right side. Michael Massey scoops it up steps and throws to first in time for the out inning over and another 22 pitch and he got him to go up out of the zone. His second strikeout slow roller to third and Chapman was deep and even if he had picked that up cleanly, he had no chance to get Can. They were team mates in Oakland and Can has a one out infield single. It’s this one out into left center field Jungle got a good jump and can away from first the pitch. The bouncer, third base side, couple of high hops by chapman. The hurry throw to first in time. Matt chapman leads off last of the second inning. Nothing. Nothing scored a 10 pitch change up, popped up third base side foul ground garcia Hustles over the coach’s box and right on the chalk of the coach’s box. He makes the catch and Chapman’s out one away. The 22, it’s over the outside edge called strike three. A big bending sweeper gets Adamus looking has his first strike out of the game and that is lined to center field for an out and that was the 1st 1st pitch strike for Bubbi kyle Isbell leading off against left handed pitcher, Robbie Ray one and one on the pitch on the lefty fastball lined the other way, left field coming in. Ramos will play it on a hot and kyle Isbell has a leadoff single. The Royals have a hit in each of the first three innings. This time, it’s the leadoff man and India takes down and in so the Royals have two on with nobody out. And Bobby Witt Junior coming up , he lines this one to short caught by. Adam goes to second for a double play and Fitzgerald pivoted and was hoping maybe he had a chance to go to first for a triple play. The runner at first and got back. So no triple play, but it is a double play liner off the bat of Bobby with Giants will take it. The pitch is hit high in the air to center field, not deep jungle Lee coming in, still coming in and he will now slow up, make the catch for out. Number three is going to try to keep a scoreless here in the bottom against the bottom of the order that is inside for a leadoff walk and that’s the Giants first base runner and the pitch and a swing, fly ball hit pretty well to center is going back to the track right in front of the 391 sign. He pulls it down for the first out of the inning and a swing and a miss and there’s a strikeout on the fastball 93. That’s the second of the night for chris in his pitcher trying to work around this leadoff walk with the runner going gets a two hopper and throws over to Vinny and that puts an end to the Giants bottom of the third inning. Hunter Renfroe leads off the top of the 12 pitch strike three call and that was a slider up. Renfro has given the, the little stare to dan Marsel. It was a slider that starts like it’s out of the strike zone. It’s too high. And Then when it breaks and it drops down into the top of the strike zone, it’s a ground ball just past Ray to second over to his right. Fitzgerald’s got it spins around throws over to first at number two, there’s a drive in the center field to left center on the move to his right is Jung Ho very nicely done. Bottom of the fifth at Oracle Park Royals and Giants scoreless Willie Adam swings at the first pitch. It’s a fastball popped up foul ground. First base side pass. Quintino ranges over onto the warning track dirt and he makes the catch one pitch one out for Bubic little bit high and that’s ball four. So Bubic issues his second walk of the night. Schmidt’s on at first with one out for Tyler Fitzgerald. The pitch rolled back to the mound. Bubic picks it up looks at second double clutches instead throws to first and gets the sure out. He retires Fitzgerald to gone the 02 fed toward first pass. Pitino dives, gets it on the backhand. He gets to his feet touches first with the out inning over and Chris Bobi is through five scoreless and hitless innings at Oracle Park in the last of the six innings. Chris Bobi, who has not allowed a hit. Giants have drawn two walks and that’s all they’ve had two and a breaking ball is called strike three. Got him looking with his fourth strikeout on the night and the pitch and a swing and a chopper left side glove by boo from the third base side of the mound. He throw a strike to Vinny for the second out of the inning. Very smoothly, calmly, two in a swing and a bouncer to the right side to his left. Massey, he slipped and it gets by him into right center field. And William Wilmer Flores hit a ball that off the bat looked like it was going to be a 43 and it’ll be an error on Massey. They changed that the ground ball no longer an error. Well, it’s a base hit. It’s the first hit of the no longer a no hitter for, but most importantly, it is a shutout. What an unceremonious way for a no hit bid to is going to run now for Canada at first base, now the runner goes, they got picked off the first, not out of the shortstop covering at second for the out. And now here comes running out of the dugout wondering about the pick off move or the move period. He’s out there to argue immediately with the second base umpire Jordan Baker who has thrown Macro out of the game matre is talking about blocking the base and he clearly thinks it should have been called on that play. So two outs in the top of the eighth inning, bio leads off second Pao at the plate facing Rogers, the 10 pitch Pa Quentin launches it deep to right field. Matos is out of the track. Looks up, it’s out of here out of his second row bleachers up right field fence, Vinny past Guin clears the bricks and scores the first two runs of the game with one swing at second Ramos at first Jung Ho Lee, who for the year with runners in scoring position has hit 342 swing line drive base hit down the right field line hustling over to cut it off in the corner is Renfroe one run scores going to third and stopping there is Ramos on a double by Jung Ho Lee and it’s 2 to 1. Kansas City. And so kyle Isbell gets a chance with runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs and here’s a 31 to Isbell and he lines it to center field that will be down in front of the Lee Garcia scores that ends the inning and Carlos Est-vez takes the mound. Here’s the pitch swung on and missed strike three ball game and the Royals have a second consecutive win and a second consecutive heart pounder.

Kris Bubic spun a gem vs. the Giants and Vinnie Pasquantino made it count with a late blast to give the Royals a series-opening win.

  1. I'll never forgive Ryan Lefebvre for saying "no hitter" 3 times right after that first hit was ruled an error. Right after he said it they changed it back to a hit. Doesn't he know the rules?? lol
