If the year trends to where it feels like it’s trending… like the 78-86 win range – this isn’t the worst chance in the world to suffer through truly giving these middle infield guys a chance to prove themselves as the guy.
So fart… when they come up – they need to be plus-value immediately. If not they get shoved back down on their options, and only get their true chance when they’re out of options and we have to outright them to send them down. If this really does push Bazzana to not make his CLE debut this year, maybe it pushes him to mid 2026. Maybe this buys us 12 months of time to let these guys come up, play, work through kinks – fight through slumps… etc…
It’s not a good thing. But if it means we find the one useful answer to the middle infield (which sure seems like Arias) and outfield (?) it could be useful. We seem like we’ve been good at developing hitters and crappy at finishing them. Maybe this lets us finish one to a useful place.
I hope.

What god above did my ancestors offend that led me to Guardians fandom
Like clockwork. Every top prospect we’ve ever had has their body fall apart by the time they reach Columbus.
WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO THESE GUYS.
See ya next year.

We can’t have nice things
Oblique strains can keep a guy out for long time. Given their investment in Bazzana, I imagine they are treating this very carefully
The Month from Hell! 😫
Somewhat off topic. I like Bazzana and all, but to see what Jac Caglianone is doing in contrast is annoying, AND the fact it’s for the Kansas City system makes it that much worse. (The idea of him lasting out of the top 5 picks still baffles me.)
Normally I would, but I don’t believe it was as far fetched as most people think regarding Bazzana to make it to Cleveland this year. Teams and GMs are starting to think more progressively about younger guys playing earlier and earlier. This year for example, it’s only mid May and already two 1st rounders (Kurtz 4th & C.Smith 14th) from this past draft have already debuted. An even better example is 2023 where every non-high school selection among the top ten picks has played, and played quite well.
Sooooo, you combine that trend with the 2025 Cleveland Guardians offense and imo I can kinda see the appeal, but that’s just me.
Bust
Already figured he wasn’t making it up this year because of how our org is run but I would hate for this to impact his chances in 2026
hate when I injure my flank
Son of a bitch I wanted to see him at Huntington Park so bad this summer
It’s been a rough year so far
If Chase DeLauter wasn’t the second coming of the “every morning I break my arms, every night I break my legs” guy from SpongeBob, this news would be less disheartening. Soft tissue and core muscle stuff is nightmarish.
don’t think he’s going to make it to the majors this season
I hope that’s not a sign of things to come from him.

And so it begins…

*Hello darkness my old friend*
Not ideal
Closes the door of him making it to Cleveland, but it was a long shot anyway. He might not make it up to the bigs until like June 2026
Never was crazy about taking another infielder. But he will make a nice .230 hitting CF in 4 years
you hate to see it. 😔

Wow, another injury to a highly ranked prospect. First time I’ve seen this happen in quite a while.
*sobs in corner*

Trade him for Paul Skenes????
Ffs
Wasn’t expecting him up this year but still…
Whelp, any chance he might get called up by the end of the year is probably gone
Well that blows

Why do we have to keep suffering as Cleveland sport fans? Have we not suffered enough.
Well at least it’s not anything too serious, but still sucks to see him get hurt
Is there an option to forfeit out 1st rounders going forward? It will be easier mentally.
Me waiting for Daniel Espino to stop being injured
Big oooof. Does this mean Juan brito probably gets a crack at the second base job once he’s presumably healthy this summer?
Guardians minor league strength and conditioning team, what would you say you do here?
well dang
Of course
This does not bring me joy.
He caught the Kipnis already?!?

I disagree, but Go Guards anyway.
