Detroit Lions News: Lions Sign Isaac TeSlaa To Contract, Lions NFC North Champions Again?
In today’s news video, we’re going to be covering a lot here. Isaac Tesla has signed his contract. He is good to go. We’ll get into that. Lions got five players under 25. What does that mean for the future of this team? And it means that Brad Holmes knows what he’s doing. Cabinda talks about Matt Patricia and the Darius Slay thing. I had to throw this on there. And an ESPN analyst wants the Detroit Lions to pick up Zadirius Smith. But before we get into today’s video, who is your favorite Detroit Lions player? Name a player in the comments right now. Let’s get into the Lions news here. The Detroit Lions have signed Isaac Tesla to a deal. The Lions deal for the third round. Wide receiver Isaac Tesla, four years, $6.654 654 million $1.486 million siding bonus a salary of $840,000 1.112 million 1.42 million 1.73 million plus an additional $85,000 in workout bonuses from 2026 to 2028. This is expected as don’t worry, everybody’s going to be signed relatively soon. I know a lot of people worry, oh, can we get all the draft picks, all them sign of the contract? They will. This is not the rookie issues we had with Sam Bradford right back in 2010 in back where he had issues with the rookie class. Lions already got five signed out of the seven. They’ll all be signed relatively soon. That is no doubt about it. It’s going to happen especially before um you have the uh TAS and the camps, the training camps and all that stuff. So, they’ll be under contract very very soon. So, who is your favorite player on this football team? I want to hear what you think. Let’s continue on with Lions news here. The Lions next two players last year, Aiden Hutchinson Aman Ross St. Brown have aged out of the ranking, but they still have landed three players in this year’s top 10 with safety Brian Branch entering the ranks of number eight, running back Jir Gibbs coming in and joining at number 21 and at number 10 respectively. The Lions have got five players, five players under 25, they are drafting correct. Now, a lot of people, you know, want to know why is the Lions doing it the way they do? Because it’s worked. They go out there and regardless of position, they’re going to select the player they like. It doesn’t matter if it’s a running back early, doesn’t matter if it’s a linebacker early. This is the philosophy of Brad Holmes. And folks, it has worked. It has. Five players under 25. You know, yeah, you could say, “Well, it’s the early picks.” Well, not really. Penul said there people say he’s a bust. Aut said he’s a bust. I remember everyone said, “Why would we draft a Lee McNeel after Levi, right? You got you got Monroth St. Brown. I mean, the Lions know what they’re doing in the draft.” So, we may not like it on draft day, but it has done a good job up to this point giving the Detroit Lions five players under 25. And that and that’s just under 25. You can look around the players a little bit older, too. I mean, we get Jira Goff out of nowhere. He was throwaway. So, this team and they they picked up free agents like Clement, right? Year one, he ended up being a great free agent. Alex Analone ended up being a great free agent. Lions got solid players all the way around. Even if they’re not the best 25 under 25, you got players like Derrick Barnes, Jack Campbell, that’s a big piece to this Lions football team and they’re doing really good. And so this just goes to show you that the Lions can draft and that is something that we have talked about on here as something that is really important to build your team through the draft because if you don’t if you don’t it can be a problem, right? You can be like a team that’s always adding players to the mix in free agency and then you’re fiscally irresponsible and you’re not doing a good job with your football team. You’re simply putting player in spot and I don’t like that. I like how Brad Holmes drafts his players that he likes. Jason Cabinda spoke to the media. Let’s let’s hear about this about Matt Patricia. This was funny. He says Odell was getting the better of Slay during practice. Skip said, “We come into the team meeting room and after practice, Slay is chopping it up with Odell. They’re taking pictures and all of that stuff. Matty P is trying to drive culture, being hard-nosed and hard-headed as f and f everybody.” That was his vibe. Matty P didn’t like that. And they were shaking hands, taking pictures at this stuff because Matty P’s a Matt Patricia will go down is the worst head coach in the history of the Detroit Lions. I don’t care. I’ll take him over Marinelli who didn’t he who went 0 and6 one year. I don’t care. Matt Patricia was a terrible head coach. He sent this team back years. We were a if you remember we were a playoff contender. We were we were a playoff contender. And what happened folks? We’re going to trade away Slake Wandre Diggs. We’re going to get Trey Flowers. We’re going to do the Patriot way and end up being a disaster. Who gets the ring? Slay gets the ring. We didn’t. Matt Patricia. We got the onion ring. He got a freaking Super Bowl ring. So I the you hearing about Matt Patricia is ridiculousness. It’s good that we don’t have to deal with that crap anymore. But hey, it is what it is. Who is your favorite Lions player? That’s the theme of this video. It doesn’t matter. It could be Dan Skipper. You know, it doesn’t have to be the most athletic or the the guy that’s on the field all the time. So, give me your thoughts in the comments. Matt Bowen from ESPN wants the Detroit Lions to sign Cedarius Smith. Smith was productive after getting traded from Cleveland to Detroit before the deadline last season. Bone wrote, “In eight games, the Lions, he had four sacks, 20 pressures. He’s a speed to power rusher who can get to the interior one-on-one stand up nose tackle or three technique that gives Detroit new defensive coordinator Calvin Shepard more matchup ability up front. And I agree with Matt Bowen and I think a lot of Lions fans agree with Matt Bowen here in regards to bringing Zidius Smith back. The Detroit Lions need, and I repeat, need to be all the way around solid when it comes to the Lions roster, right? We need to be solid. Okay, this is the important thing. And it’s not just, you know, all but you’re trying to go to a Super Bowl, you need to have players from the depth from from 1 to 53, the practice squad that squared away. And I think he can bring value to the Detroit Lions. I do believe he can bring that value. So if he can bring that value, why wouldn’t the Lions look to bring him back? Maybe it’s a I don’t know, you could do a cheap, relatively cheap deal, like a one-year deal, right? five, $6 million, something of that nature, and bring a player back who is loved. Who is loved? That’s what the Lions should do on this one. He’s loved by the fans. He’s loved by me. And another player who is loved and who the Detroit Lions should look to bring back is how about Alexone because you know it’s reports coming out there. He wants to get a new deal. He wants to resign with the Lions now. He’s a little bit older but he is loved just like Cedarius is loved by the fan base. Right. Right. when he came to Detroit. But Alex Analone, I think we could resign him, and I think it’s doesn’t have to be a long-term deal, two-year deal, maybe of of something of that nature, and give him a pay raise. He does phenomenal work for linebacker. I mean, we’ve seen what he did last year, knocking the ball out before tight ends or are getting the ball. He was a really big reason why I think the Lions smoked the Minnesota Vikings. He’s a great leader on and off the field. He wants to get uh an extension and he wants to get paid to market value for what he brings to the Lions. And he is actually a lot of people like him, right? A lot of people like Alex Analone. They think he’s a he is kind of a fan favorite. He started in free agency. Not a lot of people really liked him, but now he’s really go grown on this defense and this team and he’s a leader. I think the Lions should try to I wouldn’t do anything past no threeyear obviously. I’m thinking like a two-year deal just kind of give him a pay raise because he is getting up there in age. And when you’re getting up at there in age, it’s important to kind of make sure that you’re not screwing your team for the long haul, right? You want to be able to have money for our young players like Brian Branch, Aiden Hutchinson, and all of those guys. So that’s that’s what we got to do. So I got a question for you. Would you re or or would you give Alex Anzalone a contract extension? Would you give him a new deal? Maybe a two-year deal. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. And you know, we’re going to go ahead and talk about the the proposed rule change that’s actually going to be taking this week to talk about. They’re going to vote on it. And that’s the one where the Detroit Lions were giving the teams like the Minnesota Vikings a home playoff game. That’s the playoff winning one. And it’s actually going to be spoken about today and per the athletic. The proposal of the first round playoff would be seed is currently as division winners get homefield advantage in the wild card. However, after the first round, teams would be reseed by overall record. So if the wild card team advances and has a better overall record of the remaining division winners, they assume that they would be the higher seed. So I like this proposal and I like this change if they want to do that. Again, that would be for the teams like the VI. It’s not like it happens a lot, but to have a team like the Vikings who did put up 14 wins, they shouldn’t be traveling to a team that did much less than they did in my opinion. I just don’t believe that should be the case, right? They should probably have home field advantage. I mean, they had a hell of a season. It was just it was a fluke year for, you know, situations like this where you had two teams that are 14 wins facing off in the final. But we’ve seen it before with Seattle that didn’t even have a a winning record what is a decade ago or 15 years ago, whatever it was, and they they hosted a playoff game. They actually won that playoff game. So, it’s it’s quite interesting when you look all around at at you know this uh rule change. But what do you guys think about the rule change? I think that it would be interesting and I would like to see it. I would like to see it. It’s not going to change that much. You don’t want to change a million times over, but as Lion’s getting better, too. I would like to see that rule change. With that said, folks, audio

Will the Lions win the NFC North? 'Y' for Yess, 'N' for No
Resign Az. Give him a 3 year at market. There was a real drop off after he went down. And an improvement when he returned.
Well as an Eagle Scout who knows the challenge! My favorite player is EAGLE SCOUT DAVID MONTGOMERY!!

Winner of division will go 13/4. I predict Lions go either 13/4 or 14/3, if they stay relatively healthy, the big question.
