Top plays from 5/21! (Drew Waters’ SUPERMAN catch, Nico Hoerner’s DIVE and MORE)

Slow chopper to third. Going to be a tough play. Jose off balance through. Oh my goodness. He got him. You have to be kidding me on this kind of surface. That was an amazing defensive play by Ramirez. But watch how he doesn’t rush through it. Digs that one out and Fernando gets there to make the sliding catch for the first out of the inning. One elite defender to another. Good first jump and lowering the eyesights with the slide. Right. That’s what an outfielder wants to do. Breaks it down. Gloves it securely. Julio closing on this and he slides and makes the catch. Little slip and slide out there in center field today. Mention the wet conditions. Nice little slide. Stand behind that ball. Sends it high and deep to center. Jackson Merrill goes up and makes the catch. That is the only part of Rogers center where you can go up and do that. And Jackson Merrill just went up and did that. Aronado snaps at the first pitch and flies it to right field. Justin Henry Mallaloy comes in and makes the catch. A sliding grab against the wind and the left. Sters on it quickly. Here comes the runner. And oh, how about that throw from Kyle Sters? That was an angry one and left. This is caught. Will he hold on? Yes. Aidor saves a run on that catch on the ground. Vargas with the stop back to his feet and he makes the play. Miguel Vargas, show him how it’s done. This is just an outstanding play. And even with a guy who can run, he gets up and throws it right on the money to cut him down at first base. This one popped up. Tough play for Paradis. Tough play for Pñena. Duban makes a sliding catch to great play. Fist pump from Paradis right there with the best view in the house. Mount Castle into the gap in left center. Collins closing. Collins lays out and makes the catch. Two away. Sinking line around in the gap and a perfectly timed leap to make the catch. Hits with the glove first to make sure that ball stays in the glove. This one deep and Fredel extends and makes the play. Slams to the wall as he takes it away from Reynolds. Turns up that to right. Hines after it. He makes the play on a line and into the wall again. Good ride to right. Hines going way back. Hops at the wall. Yes sir. Creedle in center. Hines in right. Times two. And he shoots that out to right field. Garcia on the run. Dives and made the catch. That is just pure reaction by Garcia. Right side. Diving play by Nico to first. Ends the inning. Love thy leather. Nico her. Nice play. Flores lines it to right field. Waters sprints in. Dive forward. Makes the catch and barrel rolls onto the right field grass. A terrific catch from Drew Waters in right. Little looper into shallow center. Going to be trouble coming on. Meisner dives. Did he hold on? Yes, he did. A tremendous catch by Cameron Meisner.
