  1. Captain Sal was a 4 time all star, has the highest WAR & brought us 3 straight World Championships,

Carney won a batting title (pre Oakland) & a Silver Slugger & hit .290 and beat SF in the Bay Bridge Sweep,

Chavy won 6 straight Gold Gloves & a Silver Slugger,

Chappy is an all star and has won 5 Gold Gloves,

Josh has the most HRs & won an MVP & 3 time all star & 2 Silver Sluggers,

and Tony was a Swiss Army knife on defense & beat SF in the Bay Bridge Sweep & had the highest OBP.

There have been many other 3rd sackers who have played in Oakland. It’s really a tough call, but my favorite is Carney. I loved his stances both in the batter’s box and defensively at 3rd. He was a great table setter and brought us the most one-sided World Series Sweep 🧹 in the history of baseball.

What are your Oakland A’s 3rd base memories?

  2. Damn, if only there was a way to see what Chapman and Donaldson looked like in an A’s uniform

  3. Among other things FJF robbed us of is an iconic ballpark with a captain Sal statue. I wish more baseball teams had captains. Not like football or hockey, but long tenured guys who are the leaders of the team. I think varitek and jeter are the last ones I can think of.

We would also have had a Rickey statue.

  4. Carney Lansford, great memories of that guy from a golden era of A’s baseball, got to enjoy it as a kid, which is the best time to enjoy it. The only problem was two out of three World Series against mediocre teams didn’t end the way I wanted them

  5. I still believe that Scott Sizemore would be on this list instead of Donaldson had he not gotten hurt in ST.
