top 20. I think he’s absolutely within that range. But the fact of the matter is, as much as it might suck to say sometimes, it’s not good enough to be a guy at the salary point that Book is at for the length of time, especially if he signs an extension this summer and to go into a future where KD is not on this team. The 20th best player in the league is not getting you much. It’s not that great. Can Booker get back higher than that? I think it’s absolutely within reach. I think a lot of this stuff just varies season to season. He’s done it before. He’s only 28. What would make him not be able to do that again? I think this is a great place for Deon Booker to be. I think Booker did need to be slapped down a peg or two. I think there needed to be consequences for him not shooting the three ball very well this year and being a just bad defender. I think this is exactly where Booker needs to be. Go into that Kobeesque mentality of just bleep you mode and I’m going to carry these group of misfits next year. I’m just going to take this team to the playoffs on my own. And there are some players that don’t answer that bell and there are some players that do.
