TA-DAYYYYYYYY 🔥🔥🔥🔥
hi guys today
I want Durant to stay
Yaxel not going lower than 20 is because the NBA very strangely hates aged rookies that are older than 18 years old and in smaller conferences. Personally I like Kalkbrenner better than Reynaud, he also has Lopez potential, and he has half a foot wingspan bigger than reynaud, while also his speed is only very marginally slower than reynaud at the combine. Kalkbrenner was way more efficient this last season, and matched up well against a lot of different (college) center archetypes. He can pass, he can screen. He wont be a top 10 center likely but a decent center at pick 29 is nothing to complain about, thats assuming lendeborg is gone by then of course
Glaze 😂😂😂😂 more of that Brendon love it 😂
I wanted yaxel
Don’t compare yaxel to ISH Wainwright !! Yaxel should be much better. Bad comparison dude
Man I love y'all's podcast. Great to see y'all talk about a bunch of nothing for another day while this franchise continues to also do a bunch of nothing. Helps me sleep tbh 👍
Suns need Yaxel. Would be a game changer and he’s very versatile. I know he can play the 5 too if needed. If KD stays then he’d be great to run out there alongside him at the 4
On the Rockets side. Think the interest on Devin was high at the start of the season. But seeing the regressed play and how much Devin could cost on the next extension, has given pause to suitors. Booker is a top 20, but he's going to get paid like a top 5. And we see how restrictive teams can get with the aprons.
KD is nice, and as much as Rockets would love to have him, getting KD with 1 year left ($53 mil) is risky. Giving all those assets for KD for 1 year, where he may walk. It's different when Suns got him from the Nets (when the contract was longer). I'm not saying you guys should make the deal, I'm just saying should see it from the other side(s).
On paper, the big names are there: Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, yet the Suns couldn't make the play-in. And it wasn't because of absences, Booker (75 games), KD (62 games) this season. The floor raising of KD and Booker have limits. While I don't think KD/Booker are coach killers, the fact they couldn't work out with Bud for longer is sus (even if Bud wasn't the perfect fit).
Rockets still think very highly of KD, and would be an asset to any team he goes to. However, Rockets is also happy just using Sun's picks and keep a pipeline of cheap talent going. It gives them potential backup options if current core asks for too much money. The sweepstakes for disgruntled stars is an opportunistic thing than a requirement. I personally prefer KD over a Giannis because of fit and should cost less because of KD's age. Giannis would also require a mssive reconfiguration on the current team (whoemever is left). If Suns are getting decent offers from other teams, then Gatlin is correct in walking away. Rockets is less desperate than they were two seasons ago. Things changed a lot from start of summer to now. If Rockets just want shooting, there are other (cheaper) options out there.
Still need stars in this league, but as we see with the apron rules and finalists in the playoffs, the pendulum has swung slighly away from a big 2 or big 3 and towards depth, and being finanically responsible. It's great that Ishibia is willing to spend, but not all owners move their chips in when the team can't even make the play-in. Willing to spend is one thing, but when over the double apron, many of the options a GM has is restricted.
Lastly, yes Jalen doesn't fit with Booker, but I don't think that contract is as negative as people think. Jalen's defense for example is neutral now (no longer negative). Low $30 mil is a going rate for starters recently on the re-up. Cap growing is gradual, but that number is likely what guys his age (with flaws) go for, Bulls for example likely will give that number to Coby and Giddey. Postionally he doesn't fit, but before Suns just say no, if they are good and wheelin' and dealing, it's a trade chip they can use again to flip, if they are capable. Not everything has to be done on the first deal with the Rockets. Other teams really only want KD or Booker, Booker is off limits, having another a chip to deal with can give the Suns more options.
Why is Ben so confident that rebounds and blocks/steals from a guy who played against mediocre college competition? Not saying it won’t but saying you think shooting translates in the case of Walter Clayton Jr. but also defensive skills translate for Lendeborg sounds like just saying their best traits will translate
Yaxel at 29 would be insane.. but I feel he may go to Michigan if he’s not top 15.
Love the content, but you’re killing me with that Padres hat. 😂
Ben really isn’t that good at this job… check Maxime Combine tape

The best part of this is that one person actually seems to know what he’s saying and the other person is an extreme casual who has the dumbest takes of any podcast.
