so next week?
not that I am accusing them of doing it, but I was thinking that having him play this year means that he won’t be prospect promotion incentive eligible and we can’t get the bonus draft pick if he does well. Seems like a loophole they should address for players drafted in the previous year.
He is getting called up on June 9th

I gotta know the plans! I’ve got tickets to the Royals on 6/14 and would be floored to get to see Cags play in person
I would caution people against trying to rush him up before he’s ready. I really hope he keeps raking and forces the Royals hand but that’s fine if he doesn’t. It’s better than going too early and having him not be ready.
Please after June 7th! For personal reasons 🤣
I recall a while back hearing an interview with JJ where he basically said (without calling out Dayton) that in the past, the organization had rushed a bunch of young guys up to the majors and that hurt their development. I think now that JJ is fully in charge he has set time tables and achievements he wants to see prospects hit before bringing them up. Hard to say if he’s being too cautious or not, but I understand why he doesn’t want to screw up a golden opportunity in Jac.
Sounds like we’re all going to Omaha next weekend. So see you guys there
This translates to not soon, in my mind.
They probably gave him a “this many games unless there’s an injury and we’re desperate”
Probably not seeing him until after the all star break. And if the season keeps hovering around 500 it’s going to be tough to judge the right timing.
If it’s late in the season and we’re not making the playoffs, might as well bring him up and let him get acclimated to the game in a lower stress environment
If we’re clearly in the hunt maybe bring him up in June or July so he can get his feet under him before the playoff push
I mean, is he expected to say otherwise even if he disagreed with it?
I think they want him to get more work in the OF first.
As much as I want Jac to come up, I’m fine with them letting him stay in Triple-A for a little bit longer as long as there is a compromise in offense. Which has just recently happened.
Hunter Renfroe has been put on assignment and Nick Loftin has been brought up, and Cavan Biggio has been optioned, and John Rave has been brought up. Two of some of the best batters on the Stormchasers, with good batting averages, are available for play now, which supplements the weak Royals offense.
When Jac is ready, he will be the icing on the cake. I’m just glad the Royals management are making good decisions now- Getting rid of their weakest links and bringing in good potential roster material.
I can wait for Jac a little bit longer as long as there’s a little quid pro quo in the meanwhile to help the offense out.
