But let’s get to this one between the Houston Astros and the Athletics. The Houston Astros sending out Lance McCullers Jr. for the start in this one. While the Athletics will counter with Luis Severino and McCullers Jr. had a had a solid outing in his last home start definitely sort of getting himself in the uh turned in the right direction after that really rough loan home start he had had when he made his home debut at Dyen Park. Um but you know last time out it was five innings or sorry he made it into the fifth inning. Four four to third innings of two-run ball, five hits allowed but he had eight strikeouts season high. It’s actually more strikeouts than that one start that he had in the previous three combined and uh did a good job of getting himself back on track and now faces an athletics team that historically against the Athletics McCuller Jr. has had some success a 1.86 erra in his last five starts against uh against the Athletics and you know he’s still you know solid numbers but you got to also keep in mind that was when the Athletics were a different team back in 2022. this this year’s athletic team. Yeah, they’ve been in a little bit of mired in a little bit of a slump, but still a very solid lineup, a lineup that has some pop in those bats. And now, you know, the Athletics send out Luis Severino here, who’s coming off another quality start, back-to-back quality starts for Severino in his last outing. You know, six innings of two run balls, seven hits allowed, also put up five strikeouts. But the thing is is that Severino did that at home, which was impressive considering that’s where a lot of his struggles have been this season. But you look at Severino on the road this year. He’s been excited it seems like to get away from from uh Sutter Health Park um you know that hitter friendly ballpark in Sacramento at home a 6.2 20 RA and an 0 and4 record across seven starts, a 274 opponent’s batting average. But you take him on the road and Severino has just been outstanding across four starts, a 1-0 record, but a 0.72 ERA, a 200 opponent’s batting average, and of the 18 hits he has given up, 18 hits in 90 at bats, 99 play appearances, he’s issued a few walks as well, but only two extra base hits. And those two extra base hits have been doubles. So he has been able to keep the damage to him and we’ve only given up two earned runs on the road this season. So I think that Sephino could be in line to have a solid start here. I guess Houston Astros lineup that in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching, you know, has been solid from a batting average perspective hitting 271 and the team OPS numbers are above league average. But I said, Seino’s just been a different pitcher away from Sacramento and on the road. And I think that, you know, the athletics bats can back him up here to where he could have a decent enough start. McCuller’s Jr. said a righty in his own right. The Athletics have slightly better team OPS numbers in the last two weeks against righties. You know, similar strikeout rate, much higher walk rate, a 242 batting average, but the isolated power numbers for the Athletics are top 10 as well. So, I think that the Athletics do enough to get up in this game. My concern for the Athletics, if you’re backing them here, is when the bullpen gets involved. Um, because Severino, he’s been about a six inning guy. You still have to deal with about three innings of an Athletics bullpen that in the last week has a 7.24 ERA. So, I I may end up going with the Athletics in the full game, but I think the best play right now, Athletics money line in the first five. I think they can jump out in front and at least have a lead here. So, give me the athletics in the first five and that’s going to be my free pick.
