He ain’t wrong. They play almost identical styles, but FLA has game breakers like Barkov, Tkachuk, Reinhart, Bob while CAR only has Aho.
Rod the bod is a legendary coach and former player. I know at the end of the day what really matters is the chip, but this guy has built a solid team and play style. GG’s man.
I don’t think a perennial eastern conference final coach really has much to worry about regarding his employment. What they need to look at is a couple more high impact players. Like noted elsewhere here.

I would argue the team plays better than the sum of its skills thanks to their coach. 100% committed all the time. Brind’amour is not the issue.
I know Aho potted four goals but I think the breakout player for Carolina was Stankhoven. Amazing skillset and huge heart.
I think they should take a page out of Ekblads book and do a bunch of PEDs. That will make you a better team for sure.

It’s a talent difference and depth difference, no legit 2C it’s tough, I think considering the roster, Carolina over performed, playing 4 rookies in the ECF two of which were brand new.

Said it before, but they really ought to invest in a more consistent goaltender. Anderson is either in shutout mode, shutdown mode, or injured, with seemingly no in between.

He’s not going to dissect his team with the media but Rod knows what they need. Personally I think they need a top 2C. They lost two depth defenders and Staal is way beyond his prime
The Panthers kick ass and play physical hockey. The playoffs were and are always more physical. Newer fans and lots of Redditors want to cry about this but it’s reality. You want to beat them, you’re gonna have to be more physical.
I can’t stand hockey reporters, “hey team who makes the conference finals every year, and then lose to the eventual champs. Why do you keep sucking so bad??? You’re only better than 30 other NHL teams! That’s barely 93% of the league.”
Rod would like to take that guys head off. His rage is just barely controlled.
They need to fire Rod. Get better scoring players. It’s the same thing every year. Canes can’t score to save their life and Rods playing style doesn’t carry them to finals. Not now, not ever.
Can we just say the obvious part out loud?
They don’t call the rule book in the playoffs so the rule benefit teams that play dirty.
Why the fuck have a rulebook if you’re not going to call it?
First off: I’m a Panthers fan, have been since their inception. For the rest of this post, that’s irrelevant.
Coaches and teams that are in ruts or bad streaks tend to shake things up. Look what the Canes did with their goalie. Freddie gets pummeled in the first two games, so he gets benched for Game 3, and they still get pummeled. Then he comes back for Game 4 and blanks the Cats.
The mentality change that a switch like that can bring, could be something they need to look at with RBA. I’m not saying he’s a bad coach (I’ve honestly never been a fan of him, even as a player), but isn’t it time to consider that he’s just not cut out past the second round? Kudos to him for getting his first ECF game victory, but 1-12 overall? We’ve all seen coaches let go with better records.
Sometimes a shakeup is needed.
Get some tough players on your team to clean the clocks of those who kept running your goalie.
That’s the standard
Owner won’t pay for a scouting staff, lowballs players it comes down from him.
Brind’amour is a great coach they need at least 1 more game breaker and to stop cheaping out.
