I went through a whole schpiel explaining to my gf that they don’t touch the trophy out of superstition and then he immediately touched it and I was like “uhhh maybe he has to for the picture with this guy?” And then the whole team touched it lol

This is textbook replay of the Penguins vs Redwings 08 and 09 finals. Avoid touching the Campbell Bowl, lose in the finals… touch the bowl the following year, win the cup. McDavid is copying Crosby’s notes and I can’t blame him for it.
This is the least of their problems, they have Corey Perry in a cup final.
Needs to do a George Constanza and do everything the opposite what they did last year!
I noticed when all the players came up for the team photo it appeared like every player and coach made a point of touching it. It was funny. They are a superstitious lot aren’t they. Don’t touch it because its not the one you want. But you lost doing that so this year everyone touch it before it leaves that table.
