NHL Playoff Highlights | Oilers vs. Stars | Gm 5 | May 29, 2025

they have to stay as aggressive as they can
difficult to do here’s McDavid flying deep into   the zone and spun it around dry Cidle he’s had a
point in every game in this series centering pass   perry scores beautiful feed by McDavid a power
play goal for Cory Perry and a disastrous start   for Dallas pete Dbor said scoring first tonight
was critically important and it won’t happen old   Perry as McDavid enters the zone with speed almost
impossible to stop him dryidle will hold the puck   and go around the boards to McDavid and as that
puck goes side to side the Stars are slow lindell   in particular getting back to the touched off by
Cece to Johnston as Blackwell heading for the net   johnston put it on net and it’s stared by Steuart
Skinner we talked to them and that is why he   returned here tonight first game since April 11th
he was in and out of the lineup late in the year   who has scored the only two goals for Dallas
in the last three games no one else in Green   has scored in eight days here’s another goal for
Edmonton matias Yanmark makes it two to nothing [Music] what a great look by Jake Walman he goes all the
way up the ice to Harvardson who finds Matias   Yanmar chris Knobblock the Oilers coach was saying
that Yanmar is the second fastest skater on this   team behind 97 that’s pretty heavy praise this
long pass this is like a jolt to the heart you   have to you have to save your season best you can
casey the Smith has played once in the playoffs   nonforgiving position and now it’s up to Casey to
the Smith i I get why he did it i I understand it   man the rest of these guys better come out to play
here well you understand do you agree with it cuz   I don’t i don’t yeah I do actually is your guy he
He is your guy but you can’t stand here and do the   same thing you need to jolt your team somehow you
have to jolt them you can only call a timeout you   can only change the line so often alex Pedravic
didn’t get it out leon Bishell didn’t get it out   either edmonton smelling blood here early on it’s
out in front for Trent Frederick now it’s Skinner   and he scores oh my goodness jeff Skinner making
his first appearance of the series just his second   career playoff game in 15 years in the league
scores to make it two nothing it’s his third   goal of the playoffs he only had two all year you
mentioned in catalog Jeff Skinner’s playoff career   which there hasn’t been one he played the first
game of the playoffs had an assist the Oilers   got pumped and so he’s been out of the line well I
don’t know how you blame the goalie when you leave   Cory Perry all alone at the top of the crease i
mean all alone conor McDavid his shot handled by   Des Smith the Oilers are a better team right now
mhm colin Blackwell for Sam Steel he put it on Skinner who’s faced only three shots
on goal now to Smith stops a long one   and here’s Thomas Harley for Mason Marchman one of   the slew of stars looking to end the
long goal as Stout Skinner made the save down three to nothing the 33y old to
Smith in there robertson scores desperately   needed for the Dallas Stars they take
advantage of a turnover and get on the board the puck is turned over by Brad Kulak
kulak has had a tremendous playoff but when   he turns it over to the fourchecking Wyatt
Johnston fortunately to Dallas it comes on   the suddenly hot Jason Robertson stick
two defenseman out there as part of a   third pair here’s Wyatt Johnston shortand he
had three shorties in the regular year harley   and a magnificent save by Skinner here’s
Dry Cidle with Trent Frederick heading to   the net front dry Cidle dumps it back for
Kulak a tip by Kapp and stopped by to Smith you’ve got to make it a challenge for them of
Ander Kane tried the wraparound to Smith went   sprawling across and he covered the puck you’ll
see him get along here to Smith’s down and Lindell   helps out gets all the way across as Kane tries
to wrap this oh it goes off of Lindell and gets   underneath the Smith we’ll get a good look at it
here wow gets cross checked down from behind by   Harley kappa and played it back to the line and
a broken stick for Boo Shark turnaround shot by   Kane stopped by the pad of Casey to Smith turned
over to Kaan off for dry side and another stop   by the Smith behind Stewart Skinner and Casey
the Smith the left pad stop this is that long   change in the second period dallas can’t get their
guy or Edmonton can’t get their guys off the ice   and they scurry to get fresh bodies on the pass
blocked as Johnson tried to center that one’s   off the side of the net from Harley out in front
a couple of whacks for Maverick Fourth sustained   pressure for Dallas cece sent it wide played
back in by Harley johnston trying to spin away   from Kappin he poked it in deeper robertson
out in front skinner a stop on Bourke who’s   had a couple of chances with a wide open net
then Wyatt Johnston gets so overdue to score   harley Robertson ranson in stopped by Skinner
skinner went sliding across to make a big save   harley into the corner brantin nudged by
Nurse back of the line harley some room in   the circle tough angle for Rantinan they crowd
the net front but no passing lane brantin harley   in close harley and it blocked by Pot Cen and
scores rope hits a power play goal and a one-goal [Applause] game but when you shoot it you got to shoot it
harley shooting to score pulls makes the block   but now he’s out of the play that rebound
comes right to Wyatt Johnston he’s got a   couple assists here a three nothing Edmonton
lead is now 32 as Ro hints a shot smoothest   of games for Granland who’s been Oh look
out it’s McDavid hints trying to catch him   mcdavid scores the breakaway goal for Conor
McDavid and the Edmonton lead is back to two [Applause] watch how quickly McDavid turns and
he can go now hints can really go too but McDavid   speed freezes Casey to the Smith he’s going to go
to the backhand and the Smith bites on it hints   can’t catch him what a critical goal for Connor
McDavid dallas had fought back to 32 you’re right   they have all three of their best goal scorers out
there together all of them 30 plus in the regular   season including Robertson he scores right through
Stewart Skinner and it’s four to three [Applause] Edmonton edmonton’s interchange mcdavid doesn’t
have a good angle on Rantin and Robertson takes   the cross both teams changing and the crowd
coming back to life after momentarily catching   its collective breath dry side played
it off kane centers and it bounces in   looked like it hit Lindell out in front and
wound up past the Smith five to3 Edmonton transporting the puck into the zone this
is well out in front of the net it hits   the left foot of Lindell look where it
goes though it goes up in the air over   the glove of the Smith most times that puck
will stay on the ice this is a brutal break   for Dallas a great one for Edmonton
to the line hasten in with 1620 to go   he was bothered by Nent Hawkins lindell rebound
shot wide by Blackwell four straight wins for   the Oilers they lost game one with a fivegoal
Dallas third period and we have a rematch of   last year’s Stanley Cup final and here it goes
toward the empty net and in with 10.8 to go outplayed Dallas for almost the entirety of this   series with the exception of the third
period of game one then Chris Knoblock

  1. Always said the NHL is a goaltender league. You saw the Stars light shine darkly when their goaltender started giving up touchdowns. Two best teams advanced to the finals and that series will be decided by goaltending too. You have to like the Panthers because Bobrovski is elite right now.

  2. I just hope Skinner stays locked in… from what I’ve seen from Edmonton and Florida the advantage is to Edmonton as long as Skinner can stay consistent. The advantage should swing toward Edmonton this final.

McDavid is gonna do some unreal things stoked to watch it and hope the cup comes back to Canada.

  3. Dallas played better tonight but the oilers were inevitable – they were never gonna win 4 straight games against this team. I am really rooting for the oilers to beat florida!!

  4. I'm happy the Oilers will play in the Stanley Cup Finals for the second consecutive season & I hope they'll win the Stanley Cup this time around, especially after last season's ultimately near-miss.

  5. Neither the Oilers or Panthers have been tested to the limit yet in the playoffs this year. They are both facing by far their hardest series yet. Florida won by a hair last year, and I doubt the difference is larger than puck luck this year. If anyone in the league is a puck luck cheat code, it's McDavid. So even though Florida is heavily favoured in the moneypuck model, I would rate this tilt as basically a coin flip.

  6. As an Oilers fan who used to seeing the Dallas stars beat us every season. I am enjoying watching my beloved Edmonton Oilers beat those lone stars. They used to give me blood pressure. Thanks my 2025 Edmonton Oilers team. You made me proud oilers. I hope this is our year bring it home boys good luck. 🤞🙏 🏆

  7. As a Pens fan I have to say: Putting Casey DeSmith in the net – one of the worst goaltenders in the league – and expecting to turn things around, is a decision that should get you fired.
