Breaking mother news. The Eagles have found a way out. Found a way out of the chains that bound them at kept them stuck at the bottom of the ocean. The only mistake Howie Roseman made last year has been has been fixed. Wow. The Eagles are pulling this off. I can’t believe it. I’m shocked it happened this quick, but I love it. Uh Arie Marriott off wrote this breaking the pound Eagles will trade. Defensive end Bryce Huffen Puff to the 49ers per Adam Shaper. Philly signed Huff to a three-year 51.1 million deal last season, but now send him to San Francisco where he reunites with Robert Salah, his former head coach with the Jets. The deal will become official after J uh after June 1st. Oh my gosh, you got to be kidding me. And let’s go right to Adam Shfter, what he had to say about this because this isn’t just simply, hey, you could trade them and that’s it. That the Eagles uh had to rework his deal. And there’s still things that have to happen. Uh Adam Shepard reported uh ESPN source 49ers and Eagles are working to finalize a trade that will send edge rusher Bryce Huff and Puff to San Francisco for Rice Cerrone the San Francisco treat for a mid round pick. A midround pick. What? Uh the trade cannot and won’t would not be processed until after June 1st. Both sides are working to make it happen. And Huff already has reworked his contract to help facilitate the trade. In San Francisco, Huff will be reunited with Salah, his former Jets coach. And just to triple confirm this because I want to make sure I’m not dreaming, uh, Zach Burman wrote this. The Eagles are reworking Huff’s deal to facilitate the deal, the trade. Perf at Field Yates. The mechanics of the restructure. The Eagles will save Jesus, how he’s a genius. The Eagles will save $7.9 million in cap space and create more than $15 million in cap space with a reworked deal, which would include the Eagles taking 9 million of Huff salary and the 49ers paying the remaining 7.9 million. Wow. I mean, dude, this has got to be one of Howe’s best, man. I mean, he’s had a lot of good trades. He’s done a lot of good things, but you’re going to say $7.9 million in cap space by trading them. And then with the rework deal, it’s going to be more than $15 million in cap space with the reworked deal. I mean, that’s genius stuff. That’s genius stuff right there. All right. There, look, we knew that that that Huff and Puff, we talked about it yesterday. He wasn’t gonna play with the Eagles. But you got to figure I mean, and this is what gets me. This is what I’m thinking about Tay going. I don’t get the 49ers. Like, you know, you know that the guy is going to get traded or cut. You know, it’s going to happen. So, why why do all that to get him? You’re giving a mid round pick. What’s a mid- round pick between what? Fourth and fifth. Fourth and sixth. No, not even sixth. Like it’s like a fourth round pick, right? Fourth, fifth round pick. Are you I was talking 2097th round pick for him. Like I was talking send me some rice cerone the San Francisco treat. You’re talking about a mid- round pick. Th This is highway Howie robbery. Oh my god, I love this. I’ve never been so happy to have a guy signed with us, didn’t work out, and get the hell out. I will fly to Philly right now and drive him to the airport. I’ll pick him up. Hell, I’ll pick him up. Only a few hours away. I’ll drive him to to their facility. Oh, what a what a this is a great move by Howie Roseman Eagles. And and to me, I got to tell you, I’m a little baffled that the NerS would would pay all that. They’re going to they’re going to still pay $7.9 million in his of his contract. He’s also, you know, you’re going to give up a mirror pick if they just would have waited. The Eagles probably probably would have gave up for less. Just play it out. But I mean, I I can’t believe that the Eagles would have even had a market. How Howie Roseman pulled this off is beyond me. And now all of a sudden, you got what? So, you got essentially $22 million right now cap space. after June 1st, it’s going to go up with the rework deal another $15 million. So all a sudden you go to like almost $40 million. Now that that make that’s that opens up some interesting things to me. Okay. Some really interesting things because one all of a sudden you could afford another move. You could afford another move if need be. How big how bad you want to go. the Eagles with the extra $15 million of cap space, if they choose to use it all, you got two rookies left to sign. Then you’ve got 20 Yeah, I think the Eagles are about $22 million before the trade. So once the trade’s finalized with the rework deal, that’s $15 million more if that’s accurate. If that’s accurate, um you you’ve got close to 40 almost $40 million, just under. So, I mean, if you want to go out and get a Jaylen Ramsay because you feel like you need that extra corner, which I don’t think the Eagles want to do, you could do it. Uh, what really becomes interesting to me is could a guy like Trey Hendrickson all all of a sudden become something the Eagles would consider because they have the money to do it and if they could do it in a way that they structure, you know, a lot of upfront money and things like that, would they be willing to do it? Does this open the door to one more big move by the Eagles? Cuz all of a sudden, you’ve got the space to do it. This this this deal with Huff and Puff was weighing us down big time. It weighed us down all throughout free agency. Having to pay him the money that they did and have him on the books the way that he was took so much uh from the Eagles. Now all of a sudden, uh, you don’t have to worry about it. The fact that they got rid of him and it’s quickly I’m shocked. Like, no, I’m literally shocked by this. Usually teams, you know, they see a guy, you know, another team desperate wanting to get rid of somebody, they usually they usually teams usually wait and then let, you know, that basically lose all the value. the way the fact that the Eagles got rid of him and he goes to the 49ers and and for him that’s probably a good fit, you know, get solid back. He knows what to expect. I I would expect him to play a lot better than he did, but he wasn’t a fit in Philly. He wasn’t a fit in Philly. and and also the fact that you have guys like uh Jay Hunt who I think is going to have a monster year. Okay, with the with the immersion, you know, of Jay Hunt, with him showing up last year, especially in the playoffs and the Super Bowl, um I think the Eagles are perfectly fine without uh Bryce Hoff. They’re not going to need him. Okay, they didn’t need him last year. They don’t need him this year. Now you freed up. I mean, to me, this is this is some Howie Roseman work. This is good Howie Roseman work. I don’t know how many GMs in the league could pull this off. I just don’t I I don’t think they could. The fact that he’s going to get out of this contract and you’re going to get all that cap space. Uh I mean, geez, you you’re that’s crazy. That’s crazy. And and like I said, I I think I think the chances that the Eagles go out and make more additions is very likely. I I think you’re going to see I I think you’re going to see one more significant move, whether that’s a pass rusher, whether they’re going to get another corner, whatever it is. I mean, there’s even talk that um you know that Atlanta’s shopping their tight end uh around. So, who knows? Uh, you know, I’m shocked thi this is one of How’s shocking trades and I know a lot of people are thinking whatever, but I mean for what you had to pay Huff and the contract and what it was to get the restructure and to be able to get rid of him for a mid-round pick, what year will the mid-round pick be? That’s the question. It doesn’t we we don’t know if it’s 2026. We don’t know if it’s 2027. My guess it’s probably 2027, right? They got they got rid of um Hassan Reic and they had to wait two years to get uh a pick for him, right? We haven’t even picked we haven’t even picked for what he is yet. We don’t do that till next year. I’m I’m guessing this is going to be like a 2027 fifth round pick. Anything I mean to me that’s tremendous. It’s absolutely tremendous. uh you know, so manh. All I could say is is how he how he pulled off one of his better ones. And and let me say this, I do expect another move. I don’t know what it’s going to be, but if they if they want to go out and get a pass rusher now, they could afford it. I mean, they could easily afford it. If they want to go out and get Ramsay, they could afford it. Uh this opens up the door to a lot of things for the Eagles. This is a big deal. A big big deal for the Eagles. A great trade. It’s amazing. I’m still in shock. But but get this. Jeff Mlan said this, right? He said Huff already agreed to the restructure to help facilitate the trade. So, he wanted to get the hell out. And then he says uh with former Jets head coach Robert Sal in San Francisco, he wanted to play with him, right? He wanted to be with him. Uh pound Eagles will pay a fair amount of remaining guaranteed money, but they would also clear about $15 million in cap space. This is what the owners don’t like about the Eagles. They are willing to pay cash to pay upfront. And they’re willing to do that and create cap space for themselves. And by taking that money and making it guaranteed upfront money, you’re going to get the cap space. And now the Eagles have the world available to them. Denzel Washington out. That’s all folks. The brother screwed us.
