Marlins vs. Angels Game Highlights (5/24/25) | MLB Highlights
Beautiful night in Southern California, Saturday night at the ballpark and Angel Stadium. It’s the hottest team in baseball. Those homer and Halos take on the Miami Marlins, the Angels searching for their ninth consecutive victory. It is an absolutely beautiful night here in Southern California, jose Soriano will look to keep it all rolling for the very, very important for him to establish breaking pitches early on last time out gets the athletics wasn’t comfortable with that. Then he started overthrowing his sinker breaking pitches. So, so important for Soriano Sanchez will lead things off for the Marlins at this point, probably their longest tenured position player. He hits the first pitch on the ground to luis. Look at that. There is a ground out for Soriano one pitch and one away. A bouncer, mcada waits back to grab it, tosses it across shot with the stretch for the out 24 pitch walk to put Lopez on the one guy in this lineup that you really worry about when it comes to hitting the ball out of the ballpark stour has been off to a very good start this season. The Marlins, there’s a chopper up the middle he’s going to get through. Yes, it will. Goes off the glove and Lopez will take advantage go to third yet another hit for kyle Towers. That’s an 11 game hitting streak and a 21 game on base streak in the Marlins in business with two outs in the first ground ball up the middle netto is able to reach it. He spins and throws and plenty of time to retire. Had a range to his left heel that ball in the second base bag area and threw from the outfield grass. The inning is over right hitter , Cal Quantrell on the hill for the tonight, the 30 year old from Port Hope Ontario, Canada Quatre is making his 10th start in a Marlins uniform this year. He is 3 to 4 with a 6.37. Er, a two of the hottest Angel hitters retire at the start will bat now swing and a strike out for 123 inning. Cal Quantrell, a 123 innings soft contact in the air and a punch out of the Angels three hitter. Soriano has walked two already out of the 1st 6th that he’s faced. Chopper back to the box. Hicks will go over the second but they get the out at first hicks moves up to second and now out Ronnie simon to one pitch is a ground ball through the left side of the infield base hit ward going to pick it up and Hicks will score from second without a throw. That’s Big League RB I number four for Ronnie Simon. And that open scoring here in the top of the second one. Nothing Marlins. Thanks to the nine for the Fish Taylor Ward by recording an extra base hit for the ninth straight game last night. So he can have that record all for himself if he can do that again here this evening. And in his last nine games, he’s hitting 417 and in his last nine games, he’s had six home runs, two pitch that would cut on and missed. Cal might have the for Taylor Ward. He strikes him out on an elevated fastball at 93 two, very quiet innings here against Quan. And each inning he’s made just 10 pitches, 7-Up seven down. So far a soft contact today from the Angels. So far, Joe Adel, a guy that was a top 10 overall pick by the Angels at a high school in that’s a base hit the first one , the one out single for a pretty good at bat too. Two gone. Zack Neto still looking for his first hit in this weekend series will be the next batter throw over to check on a and he is just in diving safely. But Matt Mes says, look at this and mccullough is going to challenge Quattro with a quick move over to try and get Adle after the over, the winner is out. Retains. So it will be a pick off on Adele as the Marlins win that challenge and the inning is over. Soriano has retired the last five in a row going back to the final out in the top of the second. And with one away, here’s Liam Hicks, he’s already has nine groundball outs in this game. Soriano is 2 to 2. That one will rip through the right side of the infield base hit that one stung by hicks 105 off the bat on a two strike pitch. Here’s Connor Norby runner goes again, ground ball base hit sharply hit hicks routing. Second easily will go to third Marlins out him on the corners with one out Norby. Now, one for two. I love that. Put the guy in motion forced Norby into, put the ball in play , which is exactly what he did and he found the hole on the left side of the infield swing and a miss it was the breaking ball to get Mevis. There’s the first strikeout, a big one for Soriano in the first swing and miss on a breaking pitch so far tonight, bouncer over the mound, you second right to the bag. It leads Netto to end the inning bottom of the fourth coming up. Zack Netto will be the batter recall. He was batting in the bottom of the third inning when joe Adell ended up getting picked off first base 1 to 2. The center field, that’s an extra base hit for zack Netto as Towers cuts it off Meadows on his way to second base. He dives head first with a medal. Only the second Angel hit and that is Meadow’s first hit in this series and he represents the tying run in scoring position. There’s a bouncing ball left side, Lopez shoots over to make the play strong for post too late. Got down there quickly on that one good read two by Netto runners at the corners. One out for Taylor Ward. They’ve probably seen a lot of Taylor Ward on MLB network over the last week and a half. They’re probably talking about the highlights right now. They might be going to the bullpen here and the Marlins are going to go to the bullpen throws 46 pitches tonight. He looks surprised that he’s been asked for the baseball. Ronnie Enriquez is in for the Marlins in his 22nd game. He’s been outstanding with a 1.90. Er, a but certainly a quick hook for Cal Quattro. It’s a fly ball to left center field, the score and ST gets under it to make the catch and attacks from first to draw throw. But Netto comes home. It’s another RB I for Taylor War in the game tied at one RB I number 37 for Taylor runners at 1st and 2nd here. Nobody out getting this fifth inning underway against Soriano. 02, pitch line drive base hit for Lopez runners will advance 90 ft here, softly hit charging in his award. The bases are loaded with nobody out for kyle Stowers. 10 pitchers of the rocket. That’s glove in the back by R goes to short for one on to first in time for two, but a run does come in 100 and nine miles an hour off the bat. But Rengifo went down to his backside to glove it and he tossed to short to begin that 463 double play. Sanchez does score from third base. So it’s 21 Marlins in the top of the fifth. Waggaman is the batter with two outs and now a man on third base breaking ball punch to center field and that will drop for a base hit RB I for Wagman and the Marlins get two in the frame as Ramirez scores and it’s 31, Miami. The Angels have two on with two outs and that’ll give Taylor Ward a chance to do some damage here. He’s driven in the only Angel run with a sack fly, swinging him as he struck him out. Big strikeout chances and chunk got into a hairy situation but he strands runners at 1st and 2nd and preserves the Marlins and that is Cayden Dana Dana just recalled from AAA prior to the game today. A couple of walks in this inning , the Marlins have been walked five times tonight up 3 to 1 runners at 1st and 2nd 2 men out. Now, Connor Norby pitch on the way deep left field and that ball is going, it is gone. Goodbye. A three run homer for Norby here in the seventh and some big time insurance for the fish. A three run homer. It’s 61, Miami in the top of the seventh. Back to back base hits and a couple of balls hit hard here in the seventh against Jansen. Jung. Batter is going to be joe Adell. The score was different. O’hoppe would have went to third on that easily, but you cannot take any chances when you’re down by five runs. You got to play a lot safer on the bases grab by Norby for one double play. Conor Norby have a night. Nice play of 54, double play and the Marlins are out of the inning. We’ll go to the eighth. That’s Kyrie Perris in the top of the order of four. The Angels in the bottom back down 6 to 1 looking for their ninth consecutive victory, eight wins in a row. The longest winning streak since September of 2000 and 14. That ball is driven deep by Paris. Right center field. Hill goes up, makes the catch Derek Hill jumping up at the wall. I don’t think he took a homer away but a little bunny hop on the warning track in right center field. He’s out. Number one headed now to the ninth inning. Sad had that streak in 1998 straight game for an extra base hit. Taylor Ward has matched it and he’ll have a chance to make it 10 and there’s a line drive to the left field corner. This might be in and one hops over the wall and there is 10 in a row. Taylor Ward keeps the streak alive. He is the first Angel in history to have 10 straight games with an extra base hit. So at the plate now, so it’s a ground ball through into center field, words going to be waved home. He will score easily and the Angels get their second run in the game and the Miami leads now 6 to 2 here in the bottom of the ninth, two men go here in the bottom of the ninth deep to left field going back. He will make the backhanded catch and this ballgame is over. The Marlins snapped their three game losing streak, they win it 6 to 2 and in doing so, they snapped the Angels eight game win streak.

Go marlins!!!
Looking at last year's schedule, we were 30 games under .500 at the AS break. It's still early, but it could be better by the break this season.
Let's go Marlins
