But let’s get to this one. between the can, excuse me, the the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals, the Arizona Diamondbacks sending out Corbin Burns for the start in this one. While the Nationals will counter with Mitchell Parker and Parker in his last start, four runs allowed over four and two/3 gave up three home runs in that game against the Seattle Mariners, which for me is a little bit concerning considering that start came at a very pitcher friendly ballpark in Seattle. And he has struggled for the better part of the last month or so. you know, he’s the uh the Nationals have split his last six starts, but Parker himself has posted an 8.46 erra over that six start stretch. A 5.25 fib suggesting that there is some bad luck in that number, but again, it’s still not not great. You know, a fif over five in that out in that uh in that stretch. So, you know, something that you have to be wary of with uh with Mitchell Parker, but this is a Diamondbacks lineup that I personally trust a lot more against righties than I do lefties. Now granted in the last two weeks they’re hitting 285 against lefties and those numbers are solid. The team OPS numbers are great. You know at 832 it’s third best in baseball. The isolated power numbers are top five as well. So I do think that the Diamondbacks will be able to get some runs here off of Mitchell Parker. On the other side you have Corbin Burns who, you know, has been pitching very well over his last five starts. Basically in the month, if we just look at the month of May, he’s had three starts where he’s gone seven innings. He’s got a 1.83 RA in his last seven starts. But in the month of May alone, you know, he’s got a 1.67 ERA, a 177 opponent’s batting average, and a 1.72 ERA and 182 opponent’s batting average at home this season. The thing is though is that last time we saw Corbin Burns, he was outstanding against the Pittsburgh Pirates, it was seven innings of two-run ball, six strikeouts, and the Diamondbacks lost that game, you know, nine to six. I remember being on the uh the Diamondbacks in that one. They were up 6 nothing and it was my play I believe it was my play of the day and they just they fell flat and you know it wasn’t enough. Corbin MV seven innings of three-run ball against the Dodgers wasn’t enough. Now he did get a seven inning shut out of the Dodgers in a win at the beginning of the month and I’m not saying the Nationals are the the D uh excuse me are the Dodgers but what I have seen from the the Nationals is their ability to pile some runs on. Entering Saturday they had scored nine runs in three straight games. This offense for Washington has woken up and they’re playing some solid baseball right now. They’re closing in on 500. This is a team I think is going to be able to provide some value at times of season and in spots like these where, you know, I like Corbin Burns. We have seen unless Corbin Burns controls his own destiny by going a full nine innings, you hand the ball over to that bullpen and it is it is bubble gut central. It does not give you a good feeling. The Diamondbacks in the last week an 8.64 64 RA is second highest in baseball. The Nationals much more respectable around league average at 3.44. So if Mitchell Parker can avoid, you know, getting absolutely demolished, I think the Nationals could scratch off a couple runs against against Corbin Burns, do some damage against this Arizona bullpen and potentially win this game, win a highscoring game at that. So I’m going to take a shot on the Nationals here, either plus one and a half or on the money line at plus 205. I’m going to go with the over nine, and that’s going to be my free pick.
