“If an attacking player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by a defending player so as to cause him to come into contact with the goalkeeper, such contact will not be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.”
I swear, if the refs decide this game too I’m going to take a break from the nhl.

I can see why they missed that intentional flop in real time. But no excuse on the replay officials. It’s clear Kulak does nothing to make him go down. Crazy.
Where? He literally made himself trip, and the nhl made the quickest review in playoff history of a challenge, not even actually taking the time looking at all angles.

I feel like he took the opportunity to fall into the goalie. This is goalie interference if it’s the other way.
The most egregious thing in that sequence is Bennett holding Walman so he can’t make a play on the puck in the corner which is what led to the scoring chance. I’m not surprised it wasn’t called goalie interference, even though Bennett was barely touched, but you can’t allow a scoring chance to be created on a non call.

Ranger fan here , you can def see him feel something at his foot and then intentionally pushes himself towards the goalie . And it wasn’t at that instant . In slow motion you see the lunge happen not at the same time he’s “tripped” cmon NHL, don’t let these goals happen like this .
