I literally can’t stop crying, he 100% deserves this award (despite the vocal fans saying someone who didn’t even play in the regular season should win this year), and the video where he gets it is just… oh, tears.

Thank god I work from home today, the video of Meredith presenting Monny with the award had me crying at 11am. He really deserved this, I’m glad he won.

I am well past the hurt this caused to CBJ and the loss of a great player. What continues to hurt and will continue forever is the loss of the husband, father, son, and friend. The relationship, trust on and off the ice, and love these 2 had for one another is unparalleled and to be admired. John quietly touched so many lives and it has been truly amazing to see the outward support and love for him. Sean is another person that doesn’t come around very often. He is the epitome of what a friend and teammate can and should be.
I’m shocked, really thought Landy was going to get it but I’m so pumped that Sean got it. Well deserved.
He showed a lot of resilience this year when I don’t think I would have been able to. I hope he knows how proud everyone around him/the team/the fans are.
Meredith Gaudreau might be the strongest person in the history of humanity.
What got me was when Meredith referred to Johnny in the present tense. I have lost people close to me, and while I can’t know how it is for Meredith, in my experience grief for someone that close is measured in years, not days. It has still been less than a year since Johnny died, and while the rest of us have moved on, Meredith still has to live with it. The same goes for other people close to Johnny, like Sean.
Why did I watch this twice at work and cry more the second time ?? Meredith and Sean both so special and strong with the amount of times both have had the spotlight on them so many times since the tragedy.. don’t know how they do it
This is amazing and deserving, and that video is beyond moving
