Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Iowa Hawkeyes fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

We are in the depths of the summer offseason and while that can mean some slow news cycles, the Hawkeye fanbase is coming off their first major sport coaching search (before you all throw up your hands and start to berate me about women’s hoops, that was NOT a search with Jan the clear frontrunner and named immediately) in.. at least a decade.

That has meant plenty of news on the men’s basketball side with candidates to evaluate, assistant coaches to identify and an entire roster that turned over. It means there will be plenty of uncertainty for the Hawkeyes as they head into the 2025-2026 basketball season, but it also means there’s a breath of fresh air in the program. It’s exciting to have a new coach and a new roster. We don’t know what to expect, but it will be different than what we’ve been watching.

All that excitement can almost make one forget that we are now inside three months away from the return of Iowa football. That’s an Iowa football program that saw significant improvements to its offense a year ago and is undergoing some pretty significant changes of its own.

Recall, the quarterback room was entirely overhauled and now includes a projected starter who was among the top QB portal prospects out there this cycle, a former Auburn starter and a Wake Forest transfer. Add to that the Hawkeyes scooped up former Wake Forest offensive coordinator Warren Ruggiero as a new senior offensive analyst and there is some momentum for Iowa on that side of the ball this fall.

So that begs the question, which of these two sports are you more excited about thinking exclusively about this season? Vote in this week’s Reacts poll and share your thoughts in the comments below!
