But let’s get to this one. between the Washington Nationals and the Chicago Cubs. The uh the Washington Nationals sending out Jake Irvin for the start in this one. While the Cubs look to be sending out Colin Ray for the start in this one. I haven’t I’ve only seen that on ESPN, so it hasn’t been 100% confirmed as of yet, but you know, if it is Colin Ray, you know, it’s going to be a tricky spot for him against Nationals team that has been able to provide some value as of late, especially when they’re going up against right-handed pitching. The numbers aren’t spectacular, but they’re hitting 256. They have a a strikeout percentage of 17.1%, which is second lowest in baseball against righties in the last two weeks. So, the batting average is just outside the uh just inside the top half of baseball. Their team OPS numbers are top 10. The isolated power numbers are solid as well, top 10. So, I think that the uh I think that the Nationals, you know, could have some success against Colin Ray in this matchup. On the other side though, you’ve got the Cubs who are absolutely crushing righties right now, hitting 285, and the numbers are even better when you take him out on the road. But I will say that Jake Irvin, I think, should be given a little bit of the benefit of the doubt. He did have six runs allowed on 10 hits over on his in his last start. He didn’t record a strikeout against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which does raise some red flags. Still got the win, but it was because he was opposite Brandon F in in a start last time out where FO got absolutely obliterated. He didn’t even record an out and gave up eight runs. But, you know, but the Nationals, like I said, they’ve been a team that can get get some value going. And Irvin still 5- one on the year. I mean, he was solid before that in his last start at home. And I think that’s what we have to take note of here is where the starts where where Jake Irvin’s been getting hit hard lately for the most part have been on the road. But, he has really improved his form at home in some of his last few home starts. If you look at Jake Irvin, he’s made 12 starts this year and half of them have been at home, but his last three home starts has seen Jake Irvin pitch to a 1.31 erra. The concern for me will be the Nationals bullpen as well as it normally will be with a 4.56 erra in the last uh last week against righties. And that’s why I can’t commit to the Nationals full game. But I will take the Nationals on the money line in the first five because I think that if it is Colin Ray going here, I think that the Nationals do have an edge in starting pitching and I think that they can hold it down long enough to where they can give themselves a chance. I don’t know if the bullpen will be able to hold on and match zeros with a a Cubs bullpen that’s been lights out over the last week with 0.35 staff erra, but I think that uh I think that the Nationals do enough in the first five to get the win there. So, give me the Nationals on the money line in the first five and that’s going to be my free pick.
