Rangers vs. Nationals Game Highlights (6/6/25) | MLB Highlights

Patrick Corbin back here in DC. Six years internationals uniform won the World Series, of course in 2019. Great to see him. Hope we beat him and Then we get to see him again. Give him a hug afterwards. We could love up on him after he’s allowed three runs or fewer in all 10 of his starts in a Rangers uniform. He’s Michael Soroka, 27 years of age out of Calgary. Canada has won two of his last three starts. Michael Soroka 65 making his seventh start of the one thing that we have been loving is that fastball has been so powerful two up and two down for the Rangers. And now the long time former Dodger Corey Seeger coming up, breaking ball to the ground to the right side. Lowe has it. He’ll make the handed flip to Soroka covering and it’s in time for the out of a 123 inning and there he is. Patrick Corbin back at Nationals Park will make his 11th start in a Rangers unique down here in the last half of the first and that brings up James Woods 22 and a swing and a Miss, he strikes out wood a 123 1st inning in his return to Washington Corbin looking sharp early on Nathaniel Lowe stepping in the box for the first time against his former team, part of the Rangers World Series winning team in 2023. Corbin after a perfect first inning and he gets Lowe to shoot one out to left field that’s in for a hit, first hit of the game and first baserunner of the game for either team got to believe that Nathaniel feeling pretty good about getting a hit against his former team has been slumping five for his last 43 called to right and will fall in front of garcia and throws in on a line trying to get the thing to low at second. He’s in there and there’s two on with nobody out. Here’s Adams trying to bust out of an zero for 16 inning 1, 25 5 for 40 swing and a long drive to left field. This is way back Langford to the warning track to the wall at the wall. He makes the catch for the Lowe tags from second. He’ll go to third Riley Adams sending Wyatt Langford the wall. I mean off the bat, it looked like it might go but it just died at the fence. So here is robert Hassell the third ground ball right side gonna be tough to turn. They will get the runner hassle Lowe to score called to second and the Nationals have a one to nothing lead. Nice job by Robert has just to get the ball play. Here we go. First run of the game base run all the way around the national on the board. First. It’s Washington one, Texas. Nothing pretty standard here as we go to the fourth inning, a low scoring game involving the Texas Rangers one right back in there. Four variety this time. That’s filthy for Michael Soroka and he has his fourth K we like to call that the angry heater a great backspin that he gets on it. I mean, it just has full carry popped up left side, Abrams out wood moving in and James will drift a bit, make the catch moving off to his left swing and a miss a half swing of the ball in the dirt down. He goes and Soroka with his 3rd 123 out of four, he has five strikeouts through four hitless innings. Soroka off to a whale at a start. Rangers still looking for their first hit. He has a complete command of that slur throwing it where he wants when he wants three straight, make it four straight slurs for Soroka and he strikes out Jake Berger for strikeout number six on the night, Soroka right into the wind up. Here’s the pitch swing and a miss, he struck him out with a breaking ball running down and in Michael Soroka just mowing down Texas Rangers here, this breaking ball has been nasty tonight. That’s where he’s getting his strikeouts and swing and miss out nobody on to do Garcia. The batter pitch of the way, swung on line to right. That’s going to be a base hit toward the line Hassell over to get it on the backhand will fire it in to second. And that is the first base hit of the night for the Texas Rangers. So four and two thirds hitless innings for Soroka swings the grounds one at first right and Lowe who was holding the runner , he fields it and steps to his left on the first base bag and just like that, the inning is over runners at 1st and 2nd with two outs. Marcus Simeon coming up, Simeons zero for two. Soroka holds here. He comes swinging a fly ball right field. Hassell is there moving in on it? He will make the catch and the inning is home. Soroka survives his first spot of trouble. Six scoreless innings in the books for the Nationals right hander go to the bottom of the sixth inning, 1 to 0 the Nationals leading a second inning run the difference. Meanwhile, Corbin dealing again nine in a row retired by Corbin and again an out away from finishing six innings for only the third time this year, ground ball, ground ball to second base and his old buddy Marcus semi and throws him out. And how about a nine pitch? Sixth inning for Corbin’s not lose sight of the night he’s having, he is pitching a beauty here tonight. Patrick Corbin coming back to Nationals Park has spot a gem but he is on the short end of a 10 score. Thats lead the Rangers, the left hander wins kicks, throws a swing a long drive left center field for call racing back Langford to the track to the wall and there it goes, Alex Cole’s first homer of the season drops down to the Rangers bullpen and the Nets have a key insurance run and lead it two to nothing. Alex Cole has been waiting for that first home run and he gets it in his first big league game as a designated hitter. First pitch slider puts it on the bullpen mound in left center for a big hit for the Nats got all barreled to it 407 feet. Here we go to the bottom of the eighth inning. It’s a two nothing ball game. Patrick Corbin back out here for the Rangers. Corbin is at 76 pitches currently 70 six Corbin with an opportunity to go the distance. He’s got a lot of early action and he strikes out Nunez his second strikeout of the night. He goes back to the heater for a second of the game. Top of the zone is doing everything possible to give the Rangers a chance to win a game. He’s got a lot of early action and he strikes out Nunez his second strikeout of the night bouncer down to first Berger feeds Corbin. He never forgets to cover two away here in the last half of the eighth. And that brings up Ahmed Rosario and he swings and he lifts this one into the air. Coming on is Carter, he’ll get there and he makes the catch. So Patrick Corbin a 123 bottom half of the eighth, all of this for not unless the Rangers could at least score a couple of runs in the ninth. It is the ninth inning here at Nationals Park finning. It is on to try and preserve a two nothing Nationals lead for Michael Shoku pitched six innings of two hit shutout ball scoreless innings. The 12 got it splitter down and in and kyle Finnigan has one out in the night. Well, just everything set up by that fastball, perfect fastballs away top of the zone and Then the split off the end of the bat , the see Nunez will spin and throw out Corey Seager and kyle Finnigan one out away from save number 18, Simon on the ground. Shortstop Abrams has it sets fires high and Marcus Simeon is on. So the Rangers have life in the ninth inning. Too much hot dog here. CJ Abrams does not take this place seriously after making a nice play with the glove makes the nice play. See him look into the crowd a little too much flair. He forgot there’s still a throw to make. So now that the time runs at the plate and a guy with great power and jake Berger popped up right side playable for Nathaniel Lowe Nationals win game one of the series with the Rangers, Michael Soroka gets his third win in his last four starts. Kyle Finnigan gets saved number 18 and the Nats shut out the Rangers the ninth time this season. The Texas has been shut out our 50 game time. Dan tied for the fastest game in nationals team history.
