the screen for more information and let’s find out if it’s right for you but let’s get to this one between the athletics and the Baltimore Orioles the Baltimore Orioles sending out Tomoayuki Sugano for the start in this one while the Athletics have no starter confirmed at the time this video is being recorded now hopefully we will be able to find that out for you for Sunday’s morning show um but like I said for right now what we do know is that Sugano is getting the nod for the Orioles here here and while I did have my concerns about Sugano earlier this season there’s no denying just the form that Sugano is in when it comes to his his you know pitching record when it comes to his road starts as of late you know you look uh basically going back to late April his last four road starts tomayuki Sigano has had quality starts in each of his last four games he has gone seven innings or more in three of those four starts and he’s just been on a roll i mean a combined seven runs allowed over 27 and a3 innings of work strikeouts haven’t necessarily been there at you know at the most but he’s never been a strikeout dependent pitcher he’s been more of a pitch to contact pitcher that can you know sort of get himself out of some jams and even when you know the uh when the Orioles were struggling Sagano was still keeping them in games they have a 4-2 record in his six road starts this season now my concern for Sugano in this start is that he is pitching in a very pitcher friendly ballpark or pardon me hitter friendly ballpark in uh in Sacramento and we have seen plenty of starters struggle with these you know new environments in Sacramento for the athletics where you know there’s complaints about the mound there’s complaints about the batters box but I still just think that Sigano is just in great enough form that he’ll be able to hold it down for the Orioles in this game the Athletics have had great numbers against right-handed pitching even during their losing run you know you look at their numbers in the last two weeks against righties they’re hitting 270 you know their team OPS numbers are top five as well the isolated power numbers are just outside the top five so there’s reason to think okay well maybe the Athletics could could get it together the problem is is that it’s been the bullpen it’s been the pitching that has let down this athletics team and if this does end up being a bullpen game I don’t think that’s a recipe for success for the Athletics in this matchup they have a 6.63 staff erra out of the pen over the last week and I just think that that could be problematic for the Athletics if they are expected to rely on their bullpen for an extended period of of time in this game the Orioles yeah their numbers aren’t earthshattering against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks but they’re still just outside the top 10 in batting average the team OPS is in the same spot the isolated power numbers are just outside the top 10 too so I think that the uh I think that the the Orioles are in a good spot here to be able to hold it down to be able to salvage something here and the bullpen in the last week a 1.45 staff erra as well so
