the ramifications so here we go again your Dallas Cowboys now all day long in fact for the next couple days will be attached every website every headline to this available big name and he is a big name with nobody pausing to take a breath to consider the facts so I guess that’s my crappy job first let’s go to Green Bay where these two parties have been trying to attempt trying to reach for months a revised contract revised meaning we don’t want to pay you this much the team’s uncomfortable and this by the way this isn’t particularly fair now he did get $30 million signing bonus a year ago but it was they just did this deal a year ago fouryear $84 million extension so they decided I’m not very good at math they decided he’s a $21 million a year quarterback which when healthy he absolutely is four years $84 million a year ago and now they want out okay does that not cause anybody to pause does that not cause Cowboys Nation fans media and the rest to go “No wait a minute before we sign Jer Alexander and pay him salary cap this year $25 million.” What diddly diddly dank wait what $25 million why don’t the Packers want him same thing with Nick Chub by the way nick Chub is a hero in Cleveland and they’re not bringing him back and if they brought him back he’d be their fourth string running back looks like the Houston Texans are going to sign him good for them they have Joe Mixon they’re going to add Nick Chub and I know Cowboy fans are saying “What about us?” And my response is “I get it that that’s an attractive name but why doesn’t Cleveland want him?” And here why doesn’t the team that knows him best that just gave him $84 million now why are they saying “We don’t want to give you $84 million we made a mistake mark Sawyer we need another quarterback that one is true that one I agree with so the issue in Green Bay first of all injuries mostly he’s missed significant time in three of the past four years he is injuryprone in other words to some degree Jer Alexander is kind of the Packers version of Trayvon Diggs who’s also a who’s a 20 million dollar a year guy who the Cowboys want to show up and get healthy he’s missed significant time like Diggs he’s when healthy a two-time Pro Bowler kind of like Diggs he’s still young at 28 uh Digs will turn 27 this year but as excited as Cowboys Nation gets over stuff like this and we can disagree with Dallas’s hesitation for instance I think exploring Jaylen Ramsay his $4 million bonus has already been paid it’s 21 million left and his contract is escapable after this year so I think the idea of exploring Jaylen Ramsey is a good idea steven Jones has shut that down and that’s the end of that uh speaking of quarterbacks we reported this weekend on Kelvin Joseph tragic circumstance um you can get more at cowboyscountry.com uh his bond was set uh and he eventually made bond after being involved by his own testimony uh in an early Saturday morning 5:00 a.m uh highway accident in which uh his vehicle allegedly hit a woman on a motorcycle 27y old woman she’s dead and uh he’s arrested his bond by the way uh if um sources told us and I think I’m remembering this right I think it’s $5,000 for the DWI and $25,000 for uh being involved in in the death of another uh person on the road uh more at cowboyscountry.com as we get it the Cowboys hesitation should mirror the Packers hesitation yo Joe I have just subscribed to be a part of the school of fish so what’s left on his contract before it’s fully escapable 25 million this year cap 27 million next year cap before it’s fully escapable uh JC4 I’m glad you bring this up this really happened on Tik Tok to me at uh Fish Sports Cowboys why are we talking about Kell Joseph he doesn’t play here anymore i say this respectfully number one but please don’t try to tell me that Kelvin Joseph isn’t news because by using that same parameter and by the way people did use that parameter on me on Kelvin Joseph Pac-Man Jones and Greg Hardy all of whom in the span of three and a half days got in trouble with the law all have cowboy ties pac-man Jones only played here one year to my audience he’s still a former Cowboy and to take the logic all the way well he he hasn’t played here in 2 years well Tom Raferty hadn’t played here in 36 years and he died and I wrote about that if you get if you’re a second round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys your Cowboy and and you become the governor that’s Cowboys news if you’re a second round draft pick of the Cowboys failed though you might have been and somebody dies you’re news period although again I respect that you don’t enjoy enduring the pain of it all $25 million cap this year for Jier Alexander 27 million next year but next year it’s somewhat escapable uh it you’d save $8 million you’d have $17 million in savings $9 million in debt so yeah so it’s escapable after this year to some degree so this would be a one-year rental by the way you don’t have to pay him $25 million he might say “I want to go win a champ i’ll go sign with Philadelphia.” He might i’ll go sign with Philadelphia Baltimore Kansas City Buffalo Washington etc he might and as always uh a most bitter pill to swallow is when you as a Cowboy fan are thinking I think I’d kind of like him and then you’re going kind of i don’t want to bust the bank for oh the Eagles are getting them oh no i get that alexander frustrated up there packers frustrated too uh 2018 first round pick he’s got pedigree he makes plays uh now he’s got 12 interceptions over seven seasons so he doesn’t quite make plays not quite like Trayvon Digs in that way nobody will ever catch Trayvon Diggs in that way cowboys are waiting patiently for Diggs to return probably middle of the season those of you who are saying we need you’re not wrong right now it’s Don Bland and Company uh by the way we had a chance to bump into uh Rell the other day the rookie he’s listed at 63 195 guys and of course he’s got his bun on top of his head that might But we bumped into him uh at a social setting he’s gigantic he looks like he’s one donut away from being a defensive end be being a pass rusher but he probably I shouldn’t say probably he might not be ready for September we shall see so you’re absolutely scrambling a little bit at quarterback the former first round Buffalo Bill elim uh is impressing coaches so far so it’s Bland and Elim and then we’re playing around Juan Thomas a little bit in the slot and Izzy a little bit in the slot and they don’t have gigantic answers there that there are questions there but before
