  1. “Herrera hits a go ahead 3 run homer in the 8th as the cardinals lose 5-4”

  2. So is this three or four blown saves in a row for Helsley? Losing track over here.

  3. While Helsley will get a lot of the blame, Noot really needs to get it together soon.

  4. Time to give someone else a shot to close a game. Sick of Helsley blowing damn near 40% of the games he’s in

  5. Not getting in one of the fastest men in baseball from 2nd with nobody out is atrocious.

  6. So fucking infuriating. Not a lot of games that piss you off. This is one of them. Someone needs to sit Helsey down. Give someone else the closer role. Noot can’t hit water if you threw him out of a boat. Make contact and the game is tied in the 10th. What a momentum game that would have been.

  7. I don’t want to see Helsley or Nootbaar or like 48 hours.

    Same for Arenado. Just woof.

  8. The blown lead against the Royals was worse, but not by much. Don’t know what’s to be done about Helsley. He was due to regress, but this is really bad

  9. I have just about had my fill of Helsley. We’re not good enough to carry his late inning adventures.

  10. Need Walker back, vilade to be dfad and maybe stop pinch hitting so much for Gorman.

  11. They’re trying to get way too cute with Helsley’s pitch calling this year

  12. Cardinal’s media tries to sell Helsley as a superstar closer when in reality he quite literally almost never closes a game without letting as least two men touch the base.

  13. Almost one of the great victories of the year turns into one of the toughest losses. That’s baseball. Get ’em tomorrow. I think Noot needs a day off. Maybe Donnie in left and Gorman at 2nd tomorrow!! We’ll see what Oli does.

  14. When Lars fucking Nootbaar is by far your best outfielder you’ve got major problems out there.

  15. Heisley has always been prone to giving up the long ball…..Phil Maton cost the Mets in the post season a number of times…..I’d move Pallante to bullpen with spot starts and bring up McCreevey…..Maton was cooked in the post season last year

  16. Hot take: Nootbaar might be one of the most overrated players I’ve seen on the cardinals during my life. A career .244 hitter, averages about 40 RBIs a year, and tends to strikeout a lot.

  17. Why does it feel like Ivan Herrera is the only player who swings at hanging breaking balls

  18. Helsley blew the save and wasted Herrera’s three run homer in the eighth 😢🤦🏻‍♂️🤬

  19. Helsley let the team down. Giving up a game-tying homerun to Clase. Unforgivable.

  20. It’s a damn shame that helsley will continue to be thrown out and blow saves and vilade will almost certainly get more playing time after this

  21. I’m sick and tired of hearing how good Nootbaar should be. He’s a fine player, but that’s it. Also, the Vilarde bs is absolutely ridiculous. There is legitimately NO reason for him to be up, let alone in the lineup. Bring up Sagesse and throw Donnie in the OF. If they don’t want to do that, how about give Koperniak a chance or cut Valarde/put a minor leaguer like Church on their 40 man. SOMETHING. I’m really happy with how the team has played this year and am well aware that it’s a re-tool, but giving at bats to Vilarde is almost saying that you don’t care about winning

  22. That spirited child who chanted and cheered for all ten innings deserved better

  23. In Ryan Helsleys 24 appearances this season, he has 4 without allowing a walk or a hit. He has not been good all year.

  24. The fact Helsley let a guy with 2 career home runs and an OPS in the low .600s tie the game is embarrassing. He’s basically what you’d get if Chris Roycroft was our closer at this point.
