No matter how many years it’s been, I always think someone is starting their headline with excitement.
Lotta action
SIANISZN
I’m not super familiar with these terms. Does this mean:
– Siani back to the majors
– Roycroft back to AAA
– Vilade cut and available to other teams
– Granillo picked up from another team (inverse of Vilade)
– Jordan playing for a Minors team
?
Vilade got an at bat and couple innings in the field at his home stadium when the Cards played the Rangers. He was born right down the road from Globe Life. Hope his family got to see that.
omg they are slow to learn but eventuallyyyy
I’m here for it. Good roster shake up.
Granillo turned into the GOAT closer in one of my OOTP saves….
Just sayin….
So happy to see Granillo callled up. Finally got the walks manageable and striking out the world.
About time!
Siani is really entertaining in the outfield—- and often was just what was needed on the bat in some clutch moments.
Keep Roycroft down for good please
What a trade
I love all this.
Great news!! No more having to watch Vilade flailing away at the plate!
Works for me. Torres maybe was another option, but that would have required another 40-man move. Plus, Siani won’t be up for long.
In the bigger picture, I’m curious about how this team looks in 1-2 years with a few guys potentially in the mix to replace some of our starters. Although it’s not necessarily a pressing matter, the plans for the future could play into how this team handles the upcoming trade deadline.
I did not think someone (Vilade) could be so bad with a bat that I’m actually excited to have Siani back. *Some* hits are better than no hits.
Definitely saw Vilade being the sacrificial lamb when he was called up. I really don’t understand why they wasted the 40-man slot on him. I could see him clearing waivers but I could also see a team scooping him
Woo indeed!
i read this like the harry potter sorting hat
Thank God the Vilade experiment is over
Can’t say I’ll miss or remember the Ryan Vilade era in Cardinals baseball. But I wish him well.
Can’t wait for the inevitable “getting Walker back is like a trade” from this org.
