Dallas Cowboys Minicamp: “Big 3” DOMINATING! Pickens’ Plan! Pro Bowler IN TROUBLE?!

ladies and gentlemen Dak Prescott CD Lamb and George Pickkins are giving the defense all they can handle in the early stages of the off season although it is important to remember the defense does not have equal right to the ball right now and they can’t actually get physical so the offense should be impressing right now and they damn show doing that let’s get right into it as we discuss Dak CD and picking and the new big three in Dallas a tight end who could be challenging Jake Ferguson for the starting tight end position and one of the Dallas Cowboys new acquisitions continue to shine let’s get right into it as we have all this and more on today’s episode of Attack on Cowboys [Music] man shut your up all right y’all so first thing I want to discuss is the fact that George Pickins CD Lamb and Dak Prescott have absolutely been tearing it up yesterday in the second mini camp Pickkins and CD both hauled in touchdowns so that’s that’s good to see right there and George Pickkins had some comments that he wanted to make as it pertains to CD Lamb playing every position and he actually revealed that he intends on doing the same thing here in Dallas or at least the coaching staff intends on him doing the same thing here in Dallas as he said quote “I’ll do that a lot that’s what I’m saying and more of like getting integrated with and playing everything and knowing everything kind of like CD does so he was referring to being asked about CD moving around the field and playing kind of different positions at that wide receiver position and Pickers just said he going to be doing the same thing so this is going to be part of the Cowboys being able to be multiple this is part of the Cowboys not being predictable is having three receivers out there that essentially you can mix and match those guys and they all can run the same route tree that is going to do nothing but make your offense less predictable i love hearing that they plan on moving George Pickkins around the field along with CD Lamb that’s is going to make the team much harder to guard and much harder to game plan for next thing I want to discuss though is going to be Jake Ferguson jake Ferguson um is loving the brand new offensive coordinator Clayton Adams he said quote “He’s really excited you can feel the energy.” I’m sure y’all can feel the energy especially at practice but it’s every tiny little detail is almost elevated and it’s contagious you can feel it in the room you can feel it across positions it just makes me excited to get the ball rolling and get it going the play of the day today at mini camp came from Dak to Ferguson of the scene in tight coverage for a touchdown he said quote “I love the scene ball he loves throwing it.” Ferguson said this in regards to being in the contract season i have one job and that’s to play football to the best of my ability i’ll let my agent handle that all right so Jake is letting his agent take care of those things he doesn’t really want to be asked about any contract situations and he’s taking note from his quarterback that’s something exactly what his quarterback would say and what’s interesting about Jake Ferguson right now though is he’s getting challenged a little bit he’s getting challenged a little bit here and maybe not in a serious manner to where we see Jake Ferguson lose his job or anything like that i’m not saying that by any means i’m not saying Jake Ferguson gonna lose his job what I am saying though is we have another tight end on the roster that is impressing enough people within that building to where he’s at least given the opportunity to compete or show what he looks like when he’s running with the ones let’s take a listen to Bobby Belt as he dropped some info on us as it pertains to the tight end room the only thing that I saw in terms of people subbing out or anything a little odd was on the offense and that was Jake Ferguson was not getting the reps at first team tight end for some reason i don’t know why he was out there practicing he would get reps in with the second team offense he did first team reps in seven on seven but Revan Spanford was out there getting the first reps at tight end then it was Luke Skoon Maker with the first team and then when they would go two tight end packages it was Span Ford and Skoon Maker all right so that right there is incredibly interesting to me um is this Brian Shenheimer kind of creating that culture of competition making some of the guys that are currently starters a little uncomfortable making them more hungry this could be psychological warfare i’m not going to look at this and instantly be like “Oh these guys are about to unseat Jake Ferguson.” I’m not going to do that i absolutely think that Brian Shockheimer could be employing some psychological warfare because if you felt like you were comfortable in your position are you going to try as hard every single day probably not if guys feel like hey I could easily lose my starting position they’re going to work a lot harder so I think Brian Shimimer is cooking right here i think this is a very very savvy and smart move i don’t think Jake Ferguson is in at risk losing his job at all but it is very interesting and something to note that Bravis Van Ford and Luke Scoon Maker were taking first team snaps while Jake Ferguson was taking second team snaps and they did say he also took first team snaps when they were doing 707 or whatever it may be but he is practicing with the twos which is something so much different than what we’re used to seeing this is definitely something new for the Mike McCarthy era never really saw Mike McCarthy make guys uncomfortable like this and I think this may be exactly what the Cowboys need remember the Cowboys are trying to create a quote unquote culture of competition this is exactly how you do that and create a culture of competition under pressure this is exactly how you do that what more pressure can you have than feeling like you’re going to lose your job so excellent excellent chess move right there Brian Shenheimer now to some other news and notes as it pertains to the Cowboys mini camp here’s Tommy Yar with his notes he says “Another day another Kaire Elum pass breakup it should have been an interception but he couldn’t bring it in.” Solid day from Dak Prescott in end of half situation where the offense had 115 left on the clock trailing by eight prescott completed six of his eight passing attempts with the drive capped off by a touchdown pass to Jake Ferguson in the scene with coverage draped over him also converted the two-point conversion on a rollout pass to Miles Sanders interesting name to hear pop up there michael Parsons participated in some individual drills but wasn’t a part of the team periods still good good on you Michael Parsons you really set an example there’s still heavy rotation at corner don Bland Israel Muamu and Kaire Elum all took reps on the outside with Bland kiman Hall and Wany Thomas taking reps in the slot during first team activities and then he talked about Joe Milton we’re not going to do that i am not about to continue to to to talk about the backup quarterback i’m sorry uh Donovan Ezrau is starting to stand out more his ban is on full display and he’s getting to the back field and speaking of getting to the back field Maris Leaf foul got to the quarterback a few times in 11 on 111 all right so we finally got a mess Leaf foul sighting and Donovan as a Reichu man this dude had 16 sacks last year bro you don’t accidentally get 16 sacks i absolutely expect him to come out and play with his head on fire i think him and Michael Parsons is going to be absolute terrors to opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks all right so those are Tommy Yarus’s thoughts here nick Harris’s thoughts um with Michael Parsons not in team drills it was Peyton Turner and Marshon Neland rotating with the ones at defensive end that’s kind of that’s kind of weird highlight of the day came on a 22-y touchdown grab from tight end Jake Ferguson on the same route from Dak Prescott we kind of talked about that already nick said one of two TD graphs for Ferguson who got almost all the snaps with the ones today so that is actually different from what we heard Bobby Belt discuss maybe we’re talking about different days maybe there was a different days that they were discussing i don’t know that’s weird three strong touchdown grabs from Jonathan Mingo Ryan Flenoi and Jaylen Craropper in the team period mingo’s name is starting to pop up more y’all so I love hearing that we’re starting to hear a lot more Jonathan Mingo i love the bend and agility on display from rookie defensive end Donovan Ezrau i’ve talked to multiple people off the record about standouts and Ezrau continues to be mentioned and a healthy dose of action for Duce with the twos today uh Donovan Wilson and Sam Williams were on the field for individual drills those two along with quarterback Kaylin Carson and Osa Diggizua went inside when team drills began um right guard Tyler Booker remains the only rookie running with the ones that’s by design earn your spot on the depth chart wide receiver Cavonte Turpiner remains an option out of the backfield under Brian Shottenheimer he saw multiple snaps at running back today and took a carry outside left okay so they are still using Cavante Turpin as a running back very very interesting uh note there and by all accounts Javvante Williams and Miles Sanders are still looking like the primary backs they look like they’re probably going to be splitting carries for the most part um but we do see that Cavonte Turpin looks to be figured in jaden Blue is going to be figured in somehow and I think that Dvon and Phil Moff are going to have to really really slug it out for that last spot in that running back room right but beyond that more of the same highlight plays made here or there um you don’t want to get too ahead of your skis with anything going on right now in the early offseason programs because it’s really unfair for the defense and there’s no trench play really going on right now they can’t really get real physical so we’re not going to do too much as it pertains to trying to dissect the team and talk about where it’s going to be but the these are some interesting notes just to kind of keep in the back of your mind so that way you’re just in the loop with your team that’s really all this is about y’all but either way um I love the stuff I’m hearing about Dak Prescott CD Lamb George Pickkins they’re all kind of getting on the same page together george Pickinson said he hasn’t played with an offense with this much speed ever since Georgia um and there’s a lot of positivity going on around the Cowboys right now now they did have another mini camp today but it was just a walk through so we may not get too too ind depth on that either way let me know down in the comments below what has been
