2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile: Porter Martone – Mammoth Upside

Nashville was my favorite team before Utah got one, so I’m super conflicted on who I want to take who lol.
After the top two picks, Martone is the guy you pick if you want to take a massive swing on a guy who could become a star. Frondell or Desnoyers would be safer, they are both well rounded, but they lack the high end skill and offense in Martone’s game.
Players in Martone’s mold have also busted before, guys like Dylan Strome who dont really figure out how to put it all together. If he does bust, I think Martone would still be a nice middle 6 winger. His speed is average, some players figure out how to compensate for that in other ways, but it’s rare.
His upside is a Draisaitl, Rantanen, Robertson type player, not the fastest but immensely skilled and intelligent.
