Other facts (source):

  • Royals are dead last in runs per game scored at home (2.97 runs/gm)
    • The difference between KC and second last (PIT – 3.39 runs/gm) – 0.42 difference – is the same difference between 29th and 24th
  • Royals are 24th in runs/gm in road games (3.74 runs/gm)
  • In 2024, KC scored on average 4.46 runs/game – 13th in MLB (6th in the AL)
  • KC has the worst Year-over-Year run differential (-1.11 runs/gm)
    • Second worst YoY difference (-0.92 runs/gm) are Baltimore and Colorado
    • We're scoring over a full run per game less this year!! WTF?!?

Overall: We're not crazy. This offense has plummeted since last year – especially recently. Shit needs to get fixed, both from players and coaches. Someone needs to light a fire under everyone's ass

  1. Yeah, this is the worst scoring Royals team through 70 games in team history…trending down, too.

  2. They were all incredible with RISP last year. Regression was to be expected, but this is a bit much.

  3. We were propped up by our pitching to start out but the cracks are showing more and more, unfortunately

  4. Yup, watching these guys all look completely lost at the plate most games sucks. My faith in the Royals is worse now after watching them hit good pitching against the Cardinals only to flop even harder in each series after. Im so glad they’re okay with mediocrity because that’s really what this feels like at this point. No fire, no fight, no playoffs.

  5. This team does not have the talent or patience at the plate to have more than 1 or 2 bats going for any prolonged time. Good hitting teams are selective and foul off good pitches until they get something they can drive. They can’t even execute small ball, move runners and are perfectly content keeping double plays in order. No pressure on the defense with any running game. They just suck and are a welcome opponent even for bad pitching teams like the As. Hope jr did not have a career year last year. If so this is not a playoff team anytime soon.
