Cardinals vs. Brewers Game Highlights (6/14/25) | MLB Highlights
Jose Quintana and coming off a good start against San Diego last time out. And as Vinny mentioned in our open, just trying to keep this ball rolling here with excellent pitching from the starting pitcher. The starters have really been the story so far since May 18th and jose Quintana has been a big part of that all set to go as Quintana to work against Mason Nguyen. The leadoff hitter today line into center and a good start. Mason Nguyen with a two strike hit the leadoff man on for the Cardinals his first knock of this series and Iv-n herrera is next and he loses herrera single and a walk sets it up for a, he does up the middle. There’s a base hit. Mason wins be the plate, the throw comes to third and that is going to ask these umpires to check that call at third that is on a line on a fly and got him right on that right hip before the foot touched the bag. It’s going to be a big first out for the Brewers over the runner out. Yeah, and it’s the first out of the inning. So now you’re a ground ball away from getting out of the inning. Wilson Contreras is the hitter, the Cardinals and a strikeout nasty sinker tailing away from Wilson Contreras. And it’s the first out at the plate for Quintana out number two in the inning sounded like it was off the end of the bat. Chio is there to make the play and minimal damage and is ready to go. His 14th starts action brad 4 to 3 of 4, 75. Er, a coming off an improved start last time out against the Blue Jays was, here’s how he’s going to bound it the pitch arsenal for Andre Polan, a lot of that four seam slider sinker and knuckle curve for him. And Frelich continues his run as the Brewers leadoff hitter, three hits in game one and two hits last night. Now he’s got an opening walk here in the first inning. There he goes big swing and a miss a second is, you can drop the knee and umpires, he’s definitely safe. But did he come off? He did come off actually. And Gorman kept the tag on him but the knee is in front of the base and that’s textbook obstruction. And that’s what the umpires are looking for. Left handed batter against Andre Polan JIC has gone two for eight. A homer, a couple of RBIs facing swing and a miss heats him up with a four seamer, two strikeouts in the inning leaving Frelich at 3rd 2nd inning in Milwaukee. Cardinals have a one to nothing lead to have Jordan Walker back. He was dealing with a sore wrist and his first pitch of the day is served in the right field. Like that approach for Walker, a base hit Cardinals have three singles today. Has this one on the ground the other way inside out swing Walker will stop at second and the Cardinals have two on and nobody out two soft hits. But we will take as many of those as Quintana wants to give us trying to slow things down with Scott who’s one out of two with a walk and a hit by pitch in the series full count with one away. Scott takes a called strike three. Quintana burns off the edge with a slur. Oliver Marmol was steamed after victor scott was rung up on a pitch that was low but give Vick Carapazza credit. He let OLLI have his say and did not toss him. I thought he handled this as well as he possibly could. Absolutely gave Ollie some time. Not happy about, obviously, not happy about the way things have been going as of late. Pate just struck out the side four in a row, striking out Brewer batters five overall for Palates one. ST Louis William Contreras, the only batter to put one in play and now Durbin joins him but Arna 53 put out and Durban and Contreras Collide Durbin hits the deck. Brewers dugout has given it to Wilson Contreras a little bit. He steps right into the bases that’s on you. Wilson hoskins is giving Wilson an earful Cardinals top of the fourth inning. So the first two have reached and the Cardinals have set themselves up here in the fourth inning as Jordan walker comes to the plate chopper to third, tricky hop off the, comes home Gorman on his way to third walker to second and the Cardinals get a big break. It’s 2 to 0 and now he’ll come after the number nine hitter, victor scott to second and a shot to left that’s going to get down for a base hit that’s going to score two. Victor scott the second with a big hit the other way, have a three spot here in the fourth inning. Vick had an RB I single last night. Picks it up again. Here goes the other way with a sinker from Quintana and drives in a pair. Nice job. We go to the bottom of the fourth inning ST Louis with a 40 lead. Jackson Chur will lead things off for the crew. Chur rifles one into the gap right center. It’s going to go to the, on his way to second and three. Here he goes to third for, there’s a start right there trying to whittle away that four run lead by the Cardinals and Jackson Chur leads off this fourth inning with a rocket on the slider has struck out his sixth man. Contreras zero for two. Today. There’s one away now for Christian Jelic, that one is a strike and here comes and it’s safe. Brewers finally get one on the board. I just got Doug talking about the instincts that this kid has on the bases and he’s showing them off right here, that ball gets away from him. He has the angle to see how far away that gets away from that is a pass and, and that’s how you do it swing. And a Miss gets Jelic for the second time and Palates evened his season high with his seventh strikeout. We go to the fifth inning here at American Family field, the Cardinals with a 4 to 1 lead and Contreras hit by a pitch. He’s going to go grab the baseball here and he’s going to hand it to Quintana and tapped him on the shoulder. And so a message sent by Milwaukee here, let’s see if that’s going to result in a warning. It is a couple of freebies doled out by Jose Quintana and he may be getting towards the end of his rope swing and a high fly ball belt to deep right center field. That baby is way out of here off the scoreboard. Nolan Gorman has hit a three run homer and the Cardinals punch back. They lead seven to one in the fifth inning. This was an absolute bomb off the bat of Nolan Gorman. His fourth of the season. He has been hot if you’re thinking about coming back now is the time to start. Chip away down by six Frelick up hit. It will score two. Frelick on his way to second throw comes in late. It’s a two RB I double and Sal Frelick stays hot. 7 to 3 ST Louis and he lines out and left center is around third. He’ll score. Chur gets him again. It’s an RB I single and the Brewers start to turn a little. It’s 7 to 4. ST Louis. And now Christian Jelic gets an opportunity to hit first pitch, swing high, fly ball to left into the corner. He slows and he’s got it at the line but the Brewers answered the Cardinals three top of the fifth Brewers trailing at 7 to 4. Durbin as a home run run batted in going four for his last 25. Durbin that’s going to get down to hit. And here we go to walks Durbin singles. The tying run is coming to the plate again, will give Ortiz a chance to hit. He has grounded to second base and sacrificed last moment by Scott at the wall and that will retire the side. It is 7 to 4 ST Louis. It’s the top of the order for the crew free to lead things off. He’s had a good day into play free to right field and walker Frelick in the second base. Sal Frelick on base again, the start of inning three and two and that one’s down and in Contreras draws the walk, the tying run is at the plate with two outs. Here in the bottom of the seventh runners go on the ground to short tricky hop but Mason stayed with that and that will retire to the Brewers trail. The Cardinals 7 to 4. Here comes jake Bowers as he comes up representing the tying run and that is inside check that swing , the bases are loaded. Frelick back to the top of the order. Swing and three pitches takes care of Frelick. That’s the second out it foul with ice water in his veins. Chur strikes out leaving the bases loaded Cardinals with the 7 to 4 lead. They have led from the outset. Wilson Contreras is coming up looking for a hit today, swing and a high fly ball crushed right center field going back at the wall that’s gone. Oh, and Contreras looks back toward the Brewer bench. A big insurance home run for the Cardinals to extend their lead. It’s eight to four or Ryan Elsley comes into a game that is not a safe situation and Contreras turns this one around , fair or foul. It is hooking. It is and William matches Wilson is taking his time to get around the bases flexing in front of the cardinal dugout of it showing up his brother as he should as Bryce Tang has been on base three out of the four times today, two singles and a walk fans on their feet down the third base line as Helsley brings her home stride three and the streak is over 85. ST Louis wins. It, Helsley looked good. Contreras looked good and the Cardinals Brad have a chance to split four games with a victory here tomorrow.

Tbh churio and Scott II look like twins 😂
The brewers are a poverty franchise with 0 rings
bases loaded, one out in the 8th, trailing by 3. What happens next? We all know the answers, 2 strike outs! Seen that many many times
Here we go again. Bases loaded, then they blew it. Sigh
Cardinals did so well please don’t let nootbar come back to the lineup
Brendan Donovan is way better then him
Mabie the brewers pitcher shouldn’t have hit Contreras cause gormon made him pay for it
That was like you’re gonna hit my teammate here’s one for you crushed
Give the ump credit for not tossing him? That's how it should be for umps, and how it used to be. They're way too sensitive nowadays and throw guys out if they look at them wrong. Let the manager have his say, he'll cool off on his own.
Lol down by 4 runs flexing after a HR..😂 I member my first beer
Even with the umpires help Milwaukee couldn't pull it off
Sal Frelick's performance on a scale of 1-10? Check the jersey number. GO BC!!!
Wearing the alternate jersey for José Quintana.
Lo quee hizo Wilson Contreras es verdaderamente admirable 🫂
The St.Louis Cardinals are 37-34🔴⚪️🟡
Go Cards Go!
Let’s go Contreras. Villain arc confirmed
St. Louis needs a right fielder .
😂😂😂😂😂
Sit down BrewCrew! 😂
No Gume
Hey Milwaukee what was that saying you love it when you beat the Cardinals
Flexing a homer when being down by 4 is crazy 😂 glad the Brewers got humbled
Cardinals finally win a game again lol.
How can you not hate the brewers
Im gonna be honest as a neutral party here, the brewers are absolutely cry babies. It was an accident! Then the announcer starts talking sh!t to Contreras! The brewers need to learn some self control
Finally i get to watch a highlight from the cards site. Yes bro Contro can hit 97mph. Good work singles club and D. And using all the pitchers we had. Pallante looked much better his 96 doesnt look 96. Hope he slowed his hook from previous games. Ya everyone is a good club now a days. They found cherio somewhere but hes been outstanding. Great job of actually hitting. Hope Gordon doesn't try to power up every time. Looked like a nice swing with relaxation and bat speed enuff but not trying to kill it. We need to go on a blue jays run..we got excellent players..Coach is maturing. Id love to see Arenado lead off and Herrera bat 2nd and Wilson 3rd if they pitch a lefty at us. Winn 5 to clear the bases with 2 out. Untill donny gets back. We have a darn great team..lets get back to long win streaks before August gets here or sign him now. We can train..
@8:16 that's the Jordan Walker defense we've all seen so often, breaking in on a ball that's obviously going over his head and instead of an out it becomes a double. Earlier in the game, he failed to get to an easy gap hit and let it go to the wall for a triple that ought to have been a double. Walker should only be a DH, he will always be a defensive liability. Burleson covers RF better. Today we had a big enough offensive day so Walker's blunders didn't matter. But in a closer game, those mistakes turn wins into losses.
These announcers are pathetic, summing up the game @10:15 by saying Helsley looked "good" ????? He gave up a homer to start the 9th inning!!! Closers are not supposed to give up homers every game they pitch, which has been the case for his last 3 or four appearances.
Finally!
That was pretty funny two brothers on opposing teams getting back to back homers
