Minnesota Vikings Post Mini-Camp 53 Man Roster & Practice Squad Projection

[Music] what’s going on jerome’s audio version it’s not really rant but it’s close enough anyways 53man rooster projection uh after Vikings OTAAS and mandatory mini camp and also practice squad projection because we are not cowards all up in here now obviously OTA’s mandatory mini camp it’s it’s not concrete i mean there’s still a long ways to go until the 53man roster cut downs but you know no quarterback pressing no contact no pads and all that stuff but there’s definitely been some risers i want to point that out so quarterbackwise I still think it’s exactly what it was heading into OTAAS mccarthy won uh slinging Sammy Howell as quarterback 2 Brett Ripeness as quarterback three on the 53 uh because remember you can’t have your emergency uh quarterback three on the practice squad uh but Brosburn uh the UDFA from the Gophers I I think that he’s definitely raised enough eyebrows that he’ll stay in the sphere on the practice squad and maybe develop him into a long-term backup uh down the line and for the quarterback 2 job I think it will be Sam Hal and How has a much higher ceiling and then Brett Ripen uh and I think that even though Ripen has that inside track being in in the the sphere for an extra year I think that how eventually wins that job that that’s certainly something to watch for uh in training camp running backs wise so we got Aon Jones uh and Jordan Mason both on two-year deals and we’re going to go a little spicy so I got Trey Stewart the rookie UDFA from Jacksonville State as well as Ty Chandler the veteran who you know last year to Cam Acres uh I I think that he does get cut heading into year four of his rookie deal xavier Scott running back they like on the practice squad who’s on the PS all last year and running back three TBD so I’m not saying that they’re just going to trade for Cam Acres again but also it’s not a slam dunk that Cam Acres is going to secure a roster spot with the Saints now I I understand why he signed with New Orleans change of scenery uh a little bit closer to his home state of Mississippi but I mean they got Kamara they got Clyde Edwards aair they they have Devin Neil like they have some dudes man so I I think that the Vikings may just wait and see which running backs because remember there’s a very deep running back class the Vikings didn’t partake but eventually teams are going to have to try and get some of these running backs down onto the practice squad and the Vikings could put in a waiver claim put them on the 53 and go from there so that’s the first putting it on the table vikings RB3 uh TBD not currently on the roster and then CJ Ham the immortal one uh absolute best fullback in the game sorry Kyle used check get the hell out of here receivers so one change so you got Jefferson as Naylor 123 rond Del Moore healthy and good to go ty Felton the third round pick from Maryland uh is in that mix as well as UDFA Silus Balden now Balden is literally like 5’6 all right uh the pride of Oregon State/ Texas he’s shifty he’s a gadgety type player uh he is a very sudden in open open space like I I think that he makes the roster and I think that he wins one of their return jobs and then practice squad Deshawn Jones a former Maryland teammate to Ty Felton the Thomas uh the NC State punt returner as well as Tim Jones uh free a job i think that he would be a you know practice squad callup as the Vikings uh sort of juggle the 53 numbers uh cut Robert Lewis in the news Miles Price uh Lucky Jackson as well as Dante Fleming tight ends so h have a new tight end in the mix and Giovani Reichi uh being added to the 90man roster and as far as uh the tight ends goes Hawinson Oliver obviously won two and then for Bartholomew uh the six round pick out of Pit uh Urosk the UDFA out of Georgia/S Stanford and Bryson Nesbbit the the UDFA out of North Carolina i mean it could go either way it could go Bartholomew roster URICK practice squad Nesbbit cut like like it is here or URICK roster Nesbbit practice squad Bartholomew cut either way like I I I don’t think that uh you know draft status is ne necessarily going to shape things here uh but I think that’s one of the competitions that’s literally up in the air tight end 3 and that’s an important job because you know tight end 3 is going to be involved in most of the special teams units as well as uh some goal line packages as well so it’s something to keep an eye on as we go forward offensive linewise uh so stay same same as it was before darasaw Jackson Kelly Fry O’Neal as your first five and then Justin School the swing tackle Walter Rouse uh when the backup guard spot Michael Jurgens’s backup center Logan Brown UDFA out of Kansas i I think that he has enough talent to secure a 53man spot i think that there will be some concern about him getting snagged on the practice as especially after he shows what he can do at joint practices as well as training camp he’s one of the players I’m really fired up to see and then not making the squad Marcel Johnson Verson Lee who was recently brought in UDFA out of South Carolina should be itallic yeah as well as Leroy Leroy Watson now Brandle we have asterisk because I actually think the Vikings get a small trade done with Blake Brandle right and Brandle starter last year does have a I think it’s 1.65 million fully guaranteed on his deal um I I think that the Vikings are able to trade and get get a little something like a late round pick swap as well as a smidgen of cap relief uh from the Brle trade then defensively uh so change things up a little bit here and remember practice squad call-ups doesn’t mean that uh you know the player is going to be stuck on the practice squad forever and also you have call-ups a couple per uh season for each player uh and there’s always a shifting amongst the 53 on practice squad so uh defensive line Allen Phillips Hargrave one two three win play show the rookie Tier Ingram Dawkins I think is going to be heavily involved early on as well as Levi Dra Rodriguez Jaylen Redmond i mean they’re just dudes man i I think that both them in year two of their involvement with the Vikings is going to be great redmond the UFFL superstar from Oklahoma as well as Levi Drake Rodriguez uh Project X or sorry Prospect X project X is completely different but Prospect X from Texas A&M Commerce uh he he looks really fantastic year two I think he’s going to blow some things up uh two on the practice squads so Taki Tammani uh the nose tackle so obviously he could be game day callup and then eventually add to the 53 once those are exhausted as well as I got Elijah Williams all right so UDFA try out from rookie camp added to the 90man i think he brings a little something i think that he’s able to get uh his own pass rush heart hustle muscle all that stuff and just go from there uh outside linebacker so we got Van Ginkle Grard Turner who’s been moonlining a little bit offball linebacker so that’s definitely something that raises an eyebrow you got Bo Richtor and Tyler Baddy making the 53 as well so Baddy’s going to be a little bit of a mix playing on the edge as well as I think that he’ll put his hand in the dirt uh too and then you got Gabriel Murphy on the practice squad last year’s uh UDFA star and it’s a tossup i mean I think between RTOR Batty and Murphy two will make the 53 and one will be on the practice squad so it stays in the sphere but also you run the risk of trying to get that player through waiverss the Vikings are very deep at edge rusher chad Shambbley does not make the cut off ball so pace Cashman the veteran Eric Wilson uh the the rookie Kobe King from Penn State uh then practice squad got Max Tulie on there now it could be Tulie or Masio Keys whatever asa also could be in that mix he’s in he’s in the final year of his rookie deal asa’s in a sort of a similar situation as Tai Chandler where you know they’ve had time to to put up as well as the fourth year of their contract is not guaranteed so the Vikings can move on no must no fuss so there you go i I think that I don’t know it’s It’s kind of close i mean Asuma could be on the practice squad or Asawa could make the 53 Kobe King on the practice squad it’s it’s really up in the air right now quarterback wise so got a little something something so Rogers Blackman Murphy I think those will be your first three got Nudy Mcloth on the 53 as well as Javier Thomas playing special teams as well as in the slot and then Zamaya Vaughn so UDFA coming on in zamaya Vaughn from Utah he’s 6’3 he’s lengthy he’s physical he’s been in the mix at OTAA as a mandatory mini camp and obviously that that’s one thing but in training camp when those pads come on and when corners can press let’s see what he can do but I’m just going to say right now dark horse i I I think that Zamayon has a chance to make the 53 same thing with with Tyler Baddy same thing with Logan Brown we’re just going all in uh practice squad uh so now remember four of the spots can be vested veterans akuda on there as well as Ambry Thomas uh so he got some veteran depth at on the practice squad uh for a corner safety wise got a little bit easier uh Bubba Balden uh his 90man spot was taken by the center uh Verson Lee uh so safety wise pretty straightforward harrison Theo Matelis carry on my Jword son playing some some good special teams well penaltyfilled special teams but hopefully they’ll get cleaned up uh in year three is three isn’t it as well as Michelle Powell uh we have him on the practice squad uh the ball hawk from Miami that’s the UB and the U uh then special teams Riker right depala Chapman doesn’t count against you on the practice squad so he’s down with IP yeah you know me and then return jobs got healthy Rondale Moore returning kicks which is just going to be dynamic man they got Silus Balden returning punts uh then Isaiah Rogers Moonlighting as backup kick returner but also Silus Balden there too um Coach Hat has already talked about wanting Rogers rogers uh even though he’ll be probably the starting quarterback uh involved in the return game because he’s a really damn good return man he really is as well as Rond Del Moore uh involved returning punts as well but that’s it that’s it uh projecting the the Vikings 53man roster as well as practice squad after uh mandatory mini camp let us know your
