    Literally everyone around him needs to step up.

  11. I’ve watched nearly every minute of these games and I couldn’t disagree more. Panthers have a two-man assignment for McDavid on all zone entries like clock work. Barkov has been mostly relegated to defensive duties, and the Panthers around him have elevated to chip in. Oilers need to do the same thing.

  12. It’s a team game. The Oilers collectively need to improve. They played like shit in game 5. It’s almost like they enjoy losing cup finals.

    This is a hot take. Thank fuck the networks employee analysts or we never would’ve known. A team needing their best players to be their best player is only an unreasonable ask in Toronto, where the players play way worse after Game 82 every year and wanting them not to play like shit means you are being an unreasonable and disloyal fan.

  22. It can’t all be about one guy. Goaltending is leaky, Defense is traffic cones with Marchand running circles on them, and no one scores enough goals. When FLA takes no penalties, they win, so EDM needs to draw more penalties. There’s a lot to address.

  25. Mcdavid needs to earn his pay cheque and win game 6 for Edmonton. Period.

    Edmonton fucked up huge by starting Picard in game 5, Picard won’t win you a Stanley cup. You ride and die on your starter with 3 shut outs and get the rest of the team to actually play

  28. He has 7 points in 5 games in the series. He’s been double teamed the entrie series. The entire team needs to be better. McDavid was one of the few players who showed up game 5 for Edmonton.
