Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlins (6-16-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] 951 952 we’ve got our boy Mick Ael and the suddenly hot Phillies winners of four straight sitting at – 112 Sandy Alcantara coming off a couple of good starts sitting at plus 102 total of eight and a half flat across the board minus 110 Bub let’s start with you here Phillies we know they’re important to the Bub household they’ve won four straight San Die his last two starts have been solid right no runs allowed but again that was against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Colorado Rockies so that doesn’t give me a whole lot of comfort i just think that uh I all year we sort of talked about this with Corby last week you get like afraid because you just keep thinking Alcantara is going to be good he’s going to be good because of his name but he just isn’t good and I I think the Phillies here beat on them i took the Phillies run line i’m getting the price is moving in my direction too this is like plus 125 last night it’s all the way to plus 140 now give me the Phillies on the run line here i I like Mick Ael i think he’ll get through the Marlins lineup just fine and uh for me I do not trust Sandy Alcantara what does the model think here phillies Marlins well it’s a tough game for me Kyle i Mick Habel’s body of work is is really limited and I have him in there as is a little bit worse than average for a pitching standpoint so it’ll be interesting to see you know Kenny probably knows more than about this than me and I I must admit I haven’t been following the Phillies as much as I should being in a Phillies household uh I got to catch up because I’m going to be going to the game next uh uh the Mets Phillies on Saturday night we we’re going for at least having a family deal and I said well I’m going to catch a game while I’m out there so I might be watching this guy uh but but Alcantara Kyle to your point I I have him ranked like 8% worse than average what what’s interesting about him is his location number is really low 17 percentile the stuff’s still there according to uh the metrics provided by the athletic and enoseras uh 92nd percentile but the BBK is high.54 and that is concerning i I think what’s concerning though with this bet Kyle is Harper’s having some wrist inflammation and I know you’ve you’ve kind of dealt with that in over your life but you know that but uh i don’t know why I’m I’m bigging you i’m bigging you very wrist inflammation i I love you still but I have it I have it 19th in baseball the offense and the bullpen’s concerning too these bullpens there’s not too much uh you know apart you know discerning these these teams from each other uh Phillies 21st ranked bullpin marlins’s 23rd ranked bullpin uh but I hope you hit your play Kyle i I would would would pass on it personally i I’m noticing here that we Mick Ael today do I need to take it off the board why is this a trap for the Phillies because that’s not what I wanted to hear this morning i really didn’t again this is more more gut than anything else i just uh for again for how unimpressive my record is we’re hanging on we’re hanging on to the green by by a sliver here i just I feel like I’ve had a an okay pulse for when to just you know hop very temporarily hop off the Phillies train and I don’t know i just I got a bad feel I got a bad feeling about this one number one Sandy has looked better in his last two starts again i know they they were against crappy teams but again this the stuff looks good i mean even you look at the baseball savant stuff like I know his the velocity is nearing all-time highs like the actual the pitch mix looks good and to beat up’s point it was a location issue um really in the starts leading up to that i mean his command had been all over the place if he’s dialed that back in I just I still I still believe in sort of the upside of Alcantara abel has looked good in his very limited work although very very few swing and misses the last two games which I noticed again he had that that really good first outing against Pittsburgh granted anybody can look good against Pittsburgh and then the command’s been good but again he’s I feel like he’s getting like I would love to see the the metrics on you know like the expected batting average over the last two games because I feel like he has been getting hit very very hard just directly to to some of the outfielders here so I think he is ripe for a bit of a stinker here and then lastly just for no reason at all the this Marlins team has always beat the Phillies in games that they’re just not supposed to do it like even like this is a team that I think I would venture to guess we may have a losing record to over the last 5 years which feels impossible given the success and lack of success of both of these teams here so all that to say I just I I have weird vibes on this one um it makes me want to stay away from really anything Philly related again I’m not I’m not backing the Marlins here i just think you know the the card overall is is just not that great today um I think seven games there’s some weird spots so I feel like people are naturally going to gravitate to Philly’s money line and Philly stuff um as like a first reaction and I don’t like I I understand it completely i just this feels like a Philly’s leap down spot i I I I don’t want to I don’t want to back them today well son of a well I’m gonna I’m gonna back the Phillies here i will say they’re one of seven teams they’re on the road today i like the road team run lines they’re one of seven teams in baseball with a positive 500 record on the road they’ve been one of the better road teams in baseball i’m going to f this is the first time I faded Alcantara all year because I’ve been afraid of the good Alcantara so hopefully we don’t get him today purposes of the show i am now going to more tentatively lock in the Phillies run line i feel way worse about it than I did before we started the show i want you guys to know that i want you to beat up what you I I got a question for Kenny as far as like the stolen bases go in this game i I I do you think that the Philly could have multiple base stealers in this game alcantara has given up plenty of steals this year um he doesn’t really have a great first move uh the first one I actually thought of was was Kemp auto Kemp I think had four hits yesterday he had stolen base i think I think he had two attempts he got thrown out the one time so actually the first went first bet I went to look for was a Kemp stolen base price was like 390 i just that’s I just don’t think that’s enough juice for me for a stolen base but I you can you can run on Aanta if you get on base yeah I’m I’m thinking like maybe like an opportunity for for a double steel i don’t know i don’t know how that What about Kyle Schwarber after a walk a walk the double the double steel angle you would you would do you know Turner and Schwarber honestly make a lot of sense they both look good on base that that’s that’s a two-legger that I’ve I’ve kind of experimented with a little bit this year like that a lot for purposes of the show i’m going to take that Philly’s run line minus one and a half little bit of lemon booty now we’re going to do that at plus 140 [Music]
