MLB LIVE🔴 New York Yankees vs Los Angeles Angels – Jun 16, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO
live from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx MLB the show with a good one coming at you it’s the Los Angeles Angels taking on the New York Yankees first pitch coming at you right after the break just about to get started and pitching in this game Carlos Rodon tell us about him in that sub3ra singy well anytime you can keep your erra under three you’re doing a lot of things right and you’re putting your team in a position to win a lot of ball games as well and he’s doing tremendous out there on the mound every time he gets the ball you expect him to go out there and dominate and that’s what he’s been to this point we’ll see how he is today and the batter will be the shorts stop zack Neto [Applause] ripped on a line that’s a base hit so a man on base to start the inning batting second the next Nolan Shuell he’s done a great job making contact recently can make it a fivegame hitting streak with a knock in this one rodone a 6-2 southpaw he features a fourseam fastball a slider a change up a curve and occasionally uses a cutter that misses and the count now two nothing that clips the corner runner at first with no outs here fly ball center field bellinger drifts towards it and out number one on the grab all right let’s take a look at the Angels lineup a guy who’s been huge for them over the last month plus nolan Shanuel and Boo he’s the table setter for this offense team leader an on base percentage i mean that just gives your teammates plenty of chances to cash in and bring them around to score man I used to love when I had a guy out in second base or third base easy to get those RBI game after game you know a guy like this what he’s going to provide and the opportunities that other guys are going to get in the lineup ground ball left side could be two off balance feed there’s one and that’s two one hit in the inning but no one left and now the Yankees will see what they can do no score [Applause] back here in New York and today’s starting pitcher Kyle Hendris well you know this guy wants to be better than that i mean the ERA is bloated he understands that he’s got to put his team in a better position to win ball games at this point you have to forget about your own individual stats and you have to go out there and attack and try to get that W and if you do that you’ll look up and most likely that ERA will have dropped over time this to third Newman and they get Gold Schmidt for the out batting second the first base let’s take a look at our lineup not a whole lot going their way offensively the last few games Chris yeah Booan that can put more pressure on the pitching staff to try to limit the opponent to just one or two runs a game knowing that their offense is not scoring right now and that never really works well because you try to be too fine and you end up giving up a lot of runs so we’ll see if everybody can just relax bring things together and perform at a level that they’re capable of and a foul ball [Music] in the air right field pretty well struck on his way gone he points it off the foul pole his 13th home run of the season and that gives him a lead it’s one- nothing [Applause] well he really crushed that thing down the line and everyone had to hold their breath until it clanked off the pole and every time that happens it just kind of feels like a trick shot or something but really it’s just a stroke of luck that it stays fair long enough aaron Judge in the box here lets that one go for a ball you know Boo Judge is one of those guys that leaves his mark on everything he does yes he’s great at baseball but he’s also known for working with charities and in his community he’s a special human no doubt about that swinging a ball drilled in the air towards right center field he makes the grab that’s out number two it’s a good recovery though after giving up the home run not allowing it to stay in the head but going to work at the next hitter and a tough one at that two outs space is empty cody Bellinger stepping in now for the Yankees [Applause] [Applause] [Music] fights that one away and the count remains 0 and two [Applause] ball one there recognize that change up right out of the hand just spit on it [Applause] pitch misses and now two balls and two strikes in the air to left center ward makes the grab and that’s the inning but they’re off to a good start as they pick up a run on this solo shot it’s now one- nothing it’s Major League Baseball and it’s on the show second inning set to go stepping in Taylor Ward taylor Ward rodone back to work a bit behind with that swing it’s strike one one’s the count [Applause] just missed ed Drummond our umpire behind the plate in this one yeah Boo he’s a really fair umpire both the pitchers and the hitters so standard strike zone he’s consistent with it and the great thing is you don’t see players questioning the calls too much so that’s a good thing in this day and age outside low two and one that one rifted right center field going back onto the track and he makes the catch well I didn’t think he got it off the bat but the wind made it a lot more interesting than expected nice job of the center fielder puts it all the way back to the warning track man jorge Solair up at the plate one home run shy of 200 for his career at 96 that pitch is in for a strike nowadays with advanced metrics and increased use of moving the infielders around defense isn’t necessarily about making errors are you able to get to the ball are you able to position fielders where hitters hit the ball but within the new shift rules odon ready here comes battling here as he fouls it away and an area that goes unnoticed is the coach that’s responsible for positioning and then uh the research person that’s providing the information so what we’re seeing in baseball so many more people behind the scenes that are contributing to the success between the lines one down base is empty foul ball still 0 and two back when you played it wasn’t the empirical data we have now it was a guy with a ruler and a diamond taking a colored pencil and drawing a line where he thought someone had hit the ball right that or just going off of gut or feel what does it look like his swing is today what’s the pitcher throwing they are sticking to the metrics and what seems to be most consistent for that hitter regardless of who the pitcher is on the mound a little bit high maybe and it’s two and0 two and0 right through there for a strike [Music] fouls one off two at two two out space is empty swing and a miss struck him out and good work there as he gets a one two three angels go quietly there and it remains one- nothing back at Yankee Stadium bottom half of inning number two and stepping in for the Yankees anthony Vulpi ripped to third and caught he put a really good swing on that pitch and hit the ball hard you know line drives don’t always find a hole but the more you can hit the ball like that with good exit vo the better off you’re going to be in the long run jason Dominguez getting ready to hit and first offering is fouled off swing and a ground ball up the middle that’s a base hit so a man aboard now with one away well I don’t think that pitch would have been called a strike but he did such a nice job of pulling his hands tight to the body and just getting enough of the barrel on it to be hard enough back up the middle for a knock here’s DJ Lameu runner on the go pitching for a strike throw the second game see Ruer goes again ball outside tag save stolen base darn no too late with a throw [Applause] ground ball left side and that’s just fouled [Music] hendrickx delivers right side hard hit slinging it to first in time so important to really lock in on an at bat like this it seems easy with the infield bat but you’ve got to make sure you put the ball in play put it on the ground brought that right austin Wells stepping in now for the Yankees [Applause] and a first pitch fastball is in for a strike [Applause] outside with a breaking ball [Applause] next offering is fouled back two down do on fouls it off still one and two that wasn’t an easy pitch to hit it’s much easier to do damage against mistakes but that’s not what that pitch was outside low and it’s two and two three ball two strike [Applause] good job to fight that one off [Applause] two outs good played appearance there able to take the walk it wasn’t easy but he earned that walk after a long bat one of the things about that two out walk the base runner over at first base is going to have a very aggressive secondary lead so a ball down the line or into the gap will produce a two out RBI and those are the best that is if you are the offensive side of it [Applause] [Applause] the O2 And a foul ball he stays alive [Applause] pitch misses there one and two to count two strike [Applause] and it’s fouled off they’ll do it again and that’s downstairs and outside really good take especially with two strikes [Applause] checks his swing now it would appeal to first no swing he held up clyde Washington with the call there [Applause] hendricks steals fouled off and they’ll do it again [Applause] swinging a drive deep right field a dive and he can’t haul it in welts around third he’ll score love how he became a really tough out with two strikes right there got a fast ball middle of the plate jumped all over it absolutely smoked that ball [Applause] back to the top of the Yankee order paul Goldmith stepping in now for the Yankees first time up he grounded to third that’s outside one and0 [Applause] ground ball right side ranifo throws to first they limit the damage here so it’s two runs on two hits no errors and a runner left we head on now to the top of the third yankees three and the Angels nothing here at New Yankee Stadium in the Bronx here’s the center fielder Joe Adell adele and the first pitch misses for ball one that one missed and that one popped in the air left field dominguez snags it one away [Applause] batting the second base and next for the Angels Luis Rangifo let’s go that’s in there strike one 0 and one [Applause] ground ball up the middle lameu tosses to first two out batting none the third baseman Kevin the batter now kevin Newman that one’s in there and it’s 0 and one he’s gotten into a really good rhythm sat down seven in a row he just wants to get the baseball and deliver it as quickly as possible keep the momentum going [Applause] this one in the air right field judge has it sized up and that is that set for the bottom of the third and here is Ben Rice not only can he hit the cover off the ball he’s got a great eye as well and the pitch a little bit low ball one you know these Yankees doing a good job of simply getting the bat on the ball in this game and the numbers back that up it’s tough to remember the times they’ve actually swung and missed at a pitch because it really hasn’t happened they’ve made contact on nearly 100% of their swings next pitch is downstairs two two count hard hit left side lead off man retired here in the third talk about being able to dial up the velocity that first base over there might need a little pad inside that first baseman’s mid here is Aaron Judge he’s 0 for one judge working on a massive campaign right now putting up some big home run numbers first pitch misses well we’ve seen him flex some impressive power this season and there’s still a lot of time to go if he can keep up this pace he’s on oh now this is blasted way back there on its way gone [Applause] and they add on it’s 4 nothing absolutely crushed that one no doubt about that one Bill we knew it wasn’t coming back anytime you have a pitch down the middle of the plate the percentages go up for the hitter to do damage even if it’s a pretty good sinker like that one nice piece of hitting there at the plate base is empty one away and next will be the cleanup hitter Cody Bellinger and first offering is fouled off bellinger is a brilliant defender whether in the outfield where he won a gold glove in right center field or at first base the footwork he attributes to playing soccer as a kid and Bellinger is a huge Premier League soccer fan one down base is empty up the middle neto throws to first in time bellinger is gone two away the batter number 11 shortstop Anthony two down base is empty and up next for New York Anthony Vulpi 0 for one so far broken bat and it’s popped up ranifo makes the grab and that’ll end the inning solo shot from Aaron Judge for the Yanks it’s now a four nothing ball game you’re watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show back in New York as we go to the top of the fourth now it’s the Angels leadoff man Zack Neto singing four homers in 22 games at Old Yankee Stadium what do you remember well I remember my rookie year hitting two in one game and you know before that game in the clubhouse there was a gentleman there who owned a suit company there in downtown Manhattan and he said to me “Hey kid you hit a home run in the game tonight come over to the store tomorrow and I’ll give you a free suit.” Delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95 so I went into the game I happened to hit two when I walked into the store the next day and he looked at me he said “You’re trying to put me out of business aren’t you?” And that was a great great experience that I had as a rookie playing against the Yankees playing in New York committed to that breaking ball just a little too much and couldn’t pull the bat back in time once you get it going it can be so tough to stop the momentum of that barrel good pitch had him fooled shaw batting for the second time and that’s strike one one out base is empty swing and a line drive and that one’s a base hit out of left center field this lefty matchup thing’s not going so well so does Super Joe give you two suits super Joe hooked me up with two suits so a man aboard here’s Mike Trout he has as they like to say let me guess boo light tower power that’s right come on Yankees yeah that’s fouled off for you growing up in New York City I mean you’re a big sports fan tell me about your experience with the Yankees growing up i really went to Sha Stadium more than I did to Yankee Stadium i grew up a Phillies fan there was one game though that I went to as a kid i sat in the upper deck it was the game that Bo Jackson hit three homers in his first three plate appearances and then hurt a shoulder diving for Dion Sanders inside the park home run that’s probably the most memorable game that I ever attended as a fan at Old Yankee Stadium ward takes a ball as he stands in for the second time shadowwell leads off first with two down to the inning and another ball two count great hitter at the dish if you’re going to miss you’ve got to miss outside the zone you miss inside the strike zone you’ll be asking the umpire for a new baseball hard grounder into the outfield for a knock throw in hulks the lead runner at second two on now with two away but when you fall behind in the count you’ve got to come into the zone and then guys have a better chance of hitting the ball hard like he did right there jorge Solair the next to hit for the Angels outside ball one solair with just one more homer to reach the 200 career mark first and second two down top half of inning number four yankees that’s a little bit low you know we usually talk about bigger numbers when it comes to homers but only about 400 major leaguers have ever hit 200 round tripers in their careers he’s putting himself in great company rod sets and there’s the strike wow just a beautiful back door slider right there if you’ve got any chance of hitting that pitch you have to wait until the absolutely last millisecond just a tough pitch to hit and not an easy one to throw either swing and a miss and he chases that one in the dirt that completes the strike out and that’ll do it angels strand a couple they’re on the short end of a four nothing score [Applause] back in the Bronx bottom four and stepping in for the Yankees jason Dominguez in for a strike one well he hasn’t quite settled in out there four runs in three innings he’s going to have to have some quick one two three innings to pitch deep into this ball game sharp grounder that’s through for a base hit man aboard on the leadoff single man those are the types of hits where you don’t feel any vibration in your hands whatsoever such a good feeling got the top of the ball a little bit but not much that was hit pretty hard through the infield so I think he’ll be happy with that swing definitely generated some good bats speed and now it’s DJ Lameheu digging in swanging a ball lifted in the air right field he just missed it makes the grab one down now batting catcher Austin Wells and now the catcher comes up to hit Austin Wells the walk and a run scored his first time hendrickx throws over dominguez back on a dive yanks a change up missing and that is ball one late on that fast ball one and one swing and a miss and that’s strike two man at first one away fights it off he’ll see another two balls two strikes and it’s out of here his 12th of the season and they throw a pair on the board it’s 6 nothing that’s their third home run of the game they’re having a lot of fun at the plate in this one they’ve got the long ball working for them on autopilot knew what pitch he wanted to hit spent on some other pitches in this at bat was very patient and it paid off now the Angels manager is out of the dugout and he’ll make a move to the pen kyle Hris out of the game and the home run really bit him today as he exits on the hook for the loss new arm coming on after the break jose Soraniano on the pitch here well they didn’t get much length out of their starter in this one so they’ve got a lot of outs to eat up in that bullpen i think they’ll look for some length out of him right here if they can get it one down oswald PZA stepping in now for the Yankees he doubled home a run in his first AB there’s a strike at the knees it’s 0 and one sorano in his third season he features a sinker a slur a four seamer a splitter and he works in a slider swing at a high-fly ball right field adele going after it drops into the glove and there you go every day during batting practice these outfielders get about 10 minutes of balls in the gaps they practice this and when the game comes they make the play perfectly [Applause] this will drill to left no doubt about it as they add on more golf [Applause] a solo shot it’s their second home run of the inning it’s 7 nothing that’s their fourth home run of the game they can’t stop and they won’t stop hitting home runs in this one Boo they’re clearly feeding off of each other at the D lightning fast hands to be able to hit that velocity fast ball on the inside part of the plate in my experience when you’re looking out over the plate allowing the ball to travel it’s pure reaction to hit a pitch in that location that’s a tremendous swing so two down stepping in the long ball threat Ben Rice he’s already homerred here in this one that one finds the zone and that is strike one [Applause] two down to right through there for a strike [Applause] that one way inside two gone base is empty but three runs across we’re here in the bottom of the fourth that’s down and in [Applause] swings and misses struck him out but two round tripers in this inning the long ball was working it’s now 7 nothing back now in the Bronx and here’s the catcher Travis Darno darno well every pitcher wants run support and having a lead is nice but it can be challenging for some pitchers i think keeping the mindset to attack instead of trying to be too fine and have too much finesse go after hitters and get quick outs you know these Angels just aren’t putting great swings on the baseball in this one they’re trying to find ways to drive the ball with some authority but it’s just not happening for them so far zero extra base hits in the game so it’s been tough for him to get anything going here’s Joe Adele fly to left his first time sometimes you have to keep chipping away until you break through but it’s a lot easier to put runs on the board when you have guys in scoring position because they put themselves there in the air right field judge getting an angle on it and it slices foul but it had the distance and there’s a ball one strike base is empty one away and we’re in the top of the fifth [Music] and a pitch ball 22 the count breaking ball inside and the count is filled up definitely a swing and miss slider down and in he finished that really well just couldn’t get him to offer at it swings through that one it’s a strike out and now it’s the switch in second baseman Luis Reo grounded out his first time up that one fouled off next offering is in for a strike oh this offense has just been locked down almost five full innings of shut out baseball and now one and two he’s great hitting the ball the other way and that pitch did a good job to straighten him up a bit mission accomplished outside two strikes that one misses and it’s three and two [Music] two outs fouled off the plate they’ll do it again he hasn’t gotten the result yet but he’s got to feel pretty confident three foul balls in a row he’s right on this pitcher grinding AB right here about to see pitch number 10 [Music] and it’s ball four he missed down low that’s a great at bat he saw a lot of pitches and earned a walk a great back and forth in that at bat he had to lay off some really close pitches and somehow Boogie found a way to keep the bat on his shoulder right there i’ll tell you right now I couldn’t have done it newman the next to hit takes outside and that’s a little bit high and now two and 0 on the ground to third and that’s a fair ball throw stops the lead runner at second two on and two out well they call that an advantage count for a reason you’re so much more likely to get something you can handle just one of those seen eye base hits through the infield he just kind of rolled over on it a little bit but sometimes those can find a hole and get you a knock could be a chance here for them to start clawing back into this ball game needto in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike he swings and fouls one off first and second two down strikes him out for the second time today still nothing on the scoreboard for him after five it’s the Yankee 7 and the Angels nothing [Applause] back at Yankee Stadium John with my buddy Chris Singleton set to get us started bottom five Aaron Judge mvp soraniano back to work misses just off the outside edge i think that was a strike you know these Yankees simply put are producing a lot of quality swings they have five extra base hits on the stat sheet so far and that tells me they’re seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really well and that’s in there at the knees with all those extra base hits it’s easy to think we’re going to see that trend continue the rest of the game they seem to be really locked in at the plate next offering is downstairs definitely not a pitch location you’re expecting up there as a hitter when you know the guy’s got a good sinker ball if he can get in that location boy you’ve got to look top to bottom and that’s going to make it very difficult to hit that’s a hit so a runner aboard to start the inning all over that one right there nice job going the opposite way with it letting the ball travel and not allowing the barrel to hook around the ball it’s so frustrating when you see a good pitch and your hands roll over it was on the outside part of the plate and he approached it perfectly and here comes Bellinger and first offering is fouled off and it’s fouled away next pitch misses and the count one and two two strike and that one missing low he’s trying to stay down in the zone but the hitter just will not chase now back in a two- two count he’s going to have to go to something else to get him out the two- two on the way fouls it back with two strikes foul ball left side he’ll see another also really good at bat what I like about this guy his bat stays in the zone for a long time gives him the ability to foul off tough pitches swinging a miss struck him out he didn’t make it easy for him on the mound but they still get the strike out number 11 so digging in Anthony Vulpi both for two in this one and that’s in for a strike 0 and one and he pumps it a strike all right now he may have not liked either of those first two pitches or agreed with the umpire’s calls but at this point he’s going to have to bear down and be ready to hit anything close to the zone spoils the two strike pitch and he’ll see another judge over at first with one away and the next pitch is way outside lifted to left center way back there and that is gone [Applause] a two-run homer and they add a couple more it’s 9 nothing that’s their fifth homer of the game man they’re all getting into the action it’s starting to feel like a home run derby up here [Applause] so many times a sinker inside is a foul ball off the ankle for the batter but that time he did a really nice job of staying inside the pitch and getting through it [Applause] here comes the manager out of the dugout and he’ll make a move for the bullpen jose Soraniano done for the night we’ll be back in a minute with a new arm on the mound there we go so the Angels turn to their bullpen for a new pitcher Jack Kachanowitz he’s into the game but the base is empty the channels so one out nobody on now it’s the switchhitting outfielder Jason Dominguez [Applause] that’s in for a strike at 95 and it’s 0 and one still only one out here in the inning and a curve is down and in comes up empty as he chases that one in the dirt man that was pretty gross right there that’s right [Applause] and that one’s a little bit low two and two and that’s awfully close i don’t know how you take that he’s seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really well right now swing and a miss struck him out two gone now now batting two out base is empty now it’s Lameu up to hit beh first pitch just misses [Applause] and that skips in the dirt [Applause] and a strike there to Lameheu no need to offer that pitch until you get to two strikes it’s just a low percentage of success when you want to try to go after that down and away pitch in the dirt and the count is three and one back to back breaking pitches away you get the feeling as a hitter that the pitcher is afraid of you that he doesn’t want to challenge you so I think the confidence level is raised right here and a foul ball you can see he was trying to stay back long enough to handle the off speed pitch but just a little tardy on the fast ball [Applause] swing and a miss for the strike out couldn’t hit the fast ball at the knees but two come across to score in the inning courtesy of this two-run homer it’s now 9 nothing you’re dialed into the show back here at a blowout which gives us a chance to talk about just about anything don’t get me fired all right Singi in Bball Park Entertainment you got a favorite mascot race yeah I love what they do in DC with the former presidents somebody always gets tackled they always get hurt i know and it’s just crazy imagine running around in those big bulky suits and somebody’s always going to go down here’s a 20 do you remember when Tim Kirkin ran in the sausage race in Milwaukee no I didn’t see that one yeah they used one of the kidsiz ones you know this isn’t exactly a mascot race but I love what they do in Atlanta with the freeze speaking of walks did you see anything special during your walk into the ballpark today i know you like to take in all the surroundings i just love interacting with the people it’s just fun to connect i mean as I was headed up to the booth one guy shouted at me “Make sure to say hi to Kenny.” Trout in the box now no balls in a strike 0 and one i wanted to race the freeze with one point i don’t think my hamstrings could hold up for it now i feel like 5 years ago you could have handled the freeze it would have been fun and I would bait you into it and try and get you to train to race the freeze and it just never to second it pulls him off the bag definitely trying to work down and get that double play ball but it got away enough to erase any chance of that good job of moving up in the scoring position now a hit could make that wild pitch really sting [Music] guy picks up strikeout number seven no that’s not the best two strike fast ball I’ve seen but certainly got away with the location there you know sometimes as a hitter when you’re down in the count you’re so focused on a pitcher painting the black and you just get a little bit locked up on something down the heart of the plate not expecting it and it just kind of freezes you ward stands in now and watches strike one next pitch is inside and the count is one and one that one missed runner at second here one gone that one fouled off two and two i wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball try to go again with a fast ball slightly elevated he just having a hard time catching up and there’s a ball [Music] man at second and ball four two aboard oh looking for a swing anding miss right there or for the ump to help him out and make a call with that last pitch but neither happened close pitch but a good take to earn that walk jorge Solair the next to hit for the Angels his next home run will be the 200th in his career it would be pretty cool to see it right here and that one a little below the knees and it’s one and0 shadow the lead runner at second ward at first one gone late on that fast ball it really looks like these hitters have been in between with their timing today good fast ball excellent slider but they’ve not been able to commit to one velocity and stay there one ball two strikes rodon fires cut out and miss curve ball struck him out that’s a pretty nasty pitch right there i’d call it a power curve ball in the 80s it’s got so much spin on it and you really don’t have a lot of time to sit back and watch what it’s going to do before you have to commit it was a good one for the swinging strikeout new York let’s go come on go darnell in the box again takes a strike oh that’s in [Music] next pitch not close up high good spot for the hitter definitely has the advantage in this count with runners on look for him to be aggressive on this next pitch first and second two down and we’re the top half of the six and strike two just an outstanding job of spinning the baseball moving it around doing what he does cut on and missed and it’s a strikeout and that is the inning [Applause] back for more from the Bronx well we go bottom six here’s the Yankees catcher now Austin Wells that one pushed foul [Music] next pitch misses outside and one and one action in the Angels bullpen hector Nerys up and throwing anderson also throwing on the ground to third newman to first in time one up one down now batting third baseman Oswald oswald PZA now at the plate it’s interesting he plays kind of a a power spot defensively but runs pretty well so when you’re looking at that position you’re not expecting someone that has maybe above average speed but he does and I think that skill set really upgrades the position because when you have that kind of speed it makes the whole team that much better what about him playing another position on defense one that would require a little more range absolutely and I think if push came to shove where they had to make a move during a game it’d surprise a lot of people you might even be able to put him in center field can’t connect on the curve ball struck him out oh that’s a curveball that people like to describe as a hammer or Uncle Char you can see why it’s not a looping slow curve he throws it hard and it gets plenty of bite on the end goldie in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike two down nobody on that misses the zone now one and two i don’t like to say he wasted a pitch i think that was a purpose pitch change the eye level have him look up now go back ah that’s strike three and the third out so we take a break down in order go to Yankees but they still hold a nine nothing lead back at Yankee Stadium and now the center fielder Joe Adele so what we’re seeing is a lineup that’s just out of sync with the pitcher they’re guessing wrong and their timing’s off pitch misses inside and that’s ball one activity in the bullpen for the Yankees yeri de los Santos getting loose out there for Aaron Boon warren getting loose as well ball [Music] next offering is fouled back swings here and drives one well left field way back and you can’t forget it [Music] his 14th of the year and they’ve got their first run it’s 91 well there goes the shut out just like that they’re still behind but this is a start back cutter inside can be a back breaker you have to catch it out front to get the barrel to it does a really good job recognizing it early getting the bat head to it and hitting it out of the ballpark now it’s the second baseman Luis Reano not even close there one and0 [Applause] strike one now just about to hit that century mark 100 pitches for this game [Applause] that one missed nobody on nobody out with a run in here in the top half of inning number seven [Music] and a curve misses outside fouled off again and it remains three and two [Applause] drilled in the air high and deep right field that one carrying reaching for it and brings it in got to love the over the shoulder catch i tell you what those are really fun to make and here comes the Yankees manager to the mound pitching change coming [Applause] now pitching new pitcher for the Yankees Yerry de los Santos he’s pitching on two days rest not [Applause] Kevin Newman the next to hit one for two [Applause] pulls that one foul de Los Santos a righty that throws with power he features a sinker a slider a change up and he works in a four seamer way high one strike [Applause] swinging a miss at a slider one ball two strike [Applause] hacks and misses it’s a strike out you know Boo you often think of sliders more for that horizontal movement but most of the good ones have both vertical depth and that horizontal movement and that’s what we saw right there good drop on the break and got him to swing over the top need now at the plate as he swings through strike one wow no fair right there i mean that slider didn’t move till the very last moment incredibly difficult to pick that up just going to have to tip your cap on that pitch [Applause] just off the inside edge [Applause] tapped softly on the ground whips it to first on the run and they get the out angels get one with a solo homer and this is now a 911 ball game you’re watching Major League Baseball on the show back here in New York bottom of the seventh and now the first baseman Ben Rice with this kind of lead he can swing freely try to hit the ball out of the park do what he loves to do and there’s a strike good heater at 98 [Music] next offering is fouled back new York swing and a miss as he chases that one darting out of the zone sends it to first and one away in the bottom of the seventh he’s really good hitting the baseball the other way so credit the pitcher for having him out in front of that pitch clearly he had him fooled aaron Judge at the plate he’s already homerred in this game right through there for a strike one down base is empty started to swing held up and Judge spoils that one base is empty one away here in the bottom of the seventh fouls that off to the left and will do it again next offering misses down and away [Applause] knocks that one away and we’ll do it again good battle here about to be the eighth pitch of the at bat swing and a miss curveball in the dirt darno on to first in time for the second out good job to clean it up after the drop third strike just a hammer 126 curveball right there Boo that was exactly what he wanted to do with it not a ton of pitchers can throw a true 126 break but he does and you can’t throw it any better than he did right there here comes Cody Bellinger hammer down the right side but foul two outs fought off foul well two outs and a chance to put up a zero on the scoreboard here and that’s not something that’s come easy for this staff in this one foul ball it stays nothing and two another one that’s five straight strikeouts impeccable command in that one three batters three strikeouts that’s electric stuff out there on the mound we’re in the top of the eighth so in now for the Angels nolan Shanuel shanuel de Los Santos back to work there’s a strike 0 and one foul ball there swing it a ball popped in the air out to shallow center makes the catch for the out and there’s one down out the designated hitter Mike Trout here’s Trout 0 for three a fly out a ground out and a strike out great speed and great power a great athlete quite simply swings through that he’s like Mike Trout you figure whatever you put in his hand whether it’s a bat whether it’s a golf club whether it’s a basketball he can do it and get it done and a rare talent so much fun to watch and that one is in the dirt going to count one and two liner snagged it first that swing right there tells me he’s seeing the ball pretty well i know it didn’t produce a hit but he made solid contact and that’s all you’re looking to do anytime you’re at the plate taylor Ward the next to hit for the Angels that one outside ball one and downstairs next offering is down low [Music] Eddie Watton oh you know this guy wants to swing it but he’s showing some good patience in this one the second time he’s taken ball four two outs runner at first and now the right fielder Jorge Solair first off and it just misses hard hit right side he takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it angels leave one they trail it big it’s 91 bottom of the eighth now the short stop Anthony Vulpi stop you talk about elite defensive players especially in the middle of the diamond and this guy is at the top of the list first pitch and he just misses and you played behind guys and they loved having your speed out there defensively one of the things that we talk about is how much pitchers enjoy having those elite defenders behind him the wine to kick the two boo and the one thing about that is speed never goes in a slump and defense shouldn’t either hittingwise you can struggle you can lose your mechanics but the thing that you can do consistently every single game is play great defense if you’re talented in that way and this is what this guy does swaging a popup foul out of play off to the right side that’ll find the stands that one misses so a lead off walk just missed his spot on the inside right there now Patty digging in is the switch in outfielder Jason Dominguez vegas swaging a ball hit out towards left center field adele makes the grab one away up to the plate steps DJ Lau the second baseman DJ Love View first pitch doesn’t find the zone 10 and there’s a foul ball nope inside ball two and that one fouled off vulpi the runner at first with one gone in the inning cuts and misses sets a strike out austin Wells stepping in now for the Yankees well [Applause] let’s go counts one and in the dirt and another ball [Applause] next offering is in for a strike the Yanks up big in this one here the bottom half of the eighth inning and that’s in the dirt one strike [Applause] to the right side ranifo tosses to first that ends the inning no runs no base hits no errors and one left ninth inning coming up the Yankees nine and the Angels won and welcome back to the ballpark all set to start the ninth in this one and now it’s Travis Darno at the plate [Applause] fast ball for a strike [Applause] and a swing and a miss there’s that slider no balls two strikes [Applause] yeah the slider misses down and away [Applause] chopped to third pza and the lead off man retired here in the ninth now batting the center fielder Joe Adele joe Adele will hit next [Applause] out in front with the swing and that is strike one oh and one just missed [Applause] scorched to center no doubt about it that is long gone another homer he’s done it again his second homer of the game it’s 92 that one just sounded different and it might have been the loudest moment yet man my ears are ringing i can feel that swing from the booth change up in the zone is a hitter’s dream it’s a BP fast ball but you’re playing in real time most times the pitcher’s asking for a new baseball just like right there one out base is empty here’s the second baseman Luis Rangifo [Applause] highf fly ball out towards left center carous two down now back third base so they’re down to their final out down to third baseman kevin Newman one for three and first offering is fouled off two down base is empty but one run across here in the top of the ninth [Applause] the Angels down to their final strike and a swing and a miss and that is the ball game offensive explosion today for these players they gave up a few runs but they had more than enough firepower to turn this one into a blowout this one ends the final 92 for Chris Singleton and our entire crew I’m John Shambi saying so long
