the Atlanta Falcons worst nightmare just came true and it might have just cost them their future there’s been some drama there’s always going to be drama when you talk about a quarterback position last off season the Atlanta Falcons signed Kirk Cousins to a 4-year $180 million deal to make him their quarterback of the future or so we thought because soon after the Falcons drafted Michael Pennix out of nowhere however if you look deeper into Kirk’s contract the Falcons actually had a plan the Falcons wanted to start Kirk for two years then move on to Penn by cutting Kirk and saving the rest of the money on the contract due to one hidden clause pennix already took over at the end of last season and Kirk Cousins himself has admitted he’s a backup quarterback i’m just here to support him you know as he needs it no team is going to give Kirk over $10 million now which means the Falcons just lost a combined $114 million in salary cap over 2026 and 2027 because of this there’s no choice but to say
