The Toronto Raptors Have A TRICK UP THEIR SLEEVE…

so there’s been a lot of Raptors rumors that have come out lately and things are getting crazy seems like the Raptors they’re eyeing a big move messiah Jerian company they could get aggressive and look to add another big name as the Raptors they have been linked to Kevin Durant a whole ton they have been in reports suggesting that they’re open to trading Yaka Purle Quickly Barrett and even willing to offer the number nine pick in the 2025 NBA draft so in this one guys I just wanted to give you my take on everything do me a solid drop a like subscribe to the channel for more Raptors videos just like this so Brian Winhorst he reported that the Raptors are lurking in the Kevin Durant sweep stakes of course the Raptors they have been linked to Durant since it was known that Durant was going to be traded and then Winhorse also reported that the Raptors are open to using the number nine overall pick in a potential trade for Durant and then as the rumors continued to come out Jake Fiser also reported that the Raptors are open to trading RJ Barrett Emanuel Quickley and Yaka Purle so that was interesting that told me that the Raptors are looking to make a big move and they’re looking to potentially restructure their roster again remember the Raptors went through that entire restructuring not too long ago making the trades of Ojan and Pascal Seakum and it looks like they’re not going to be patient with seeing what a healthy group of IQ Barrett Barnes & Company can do if the opportunity presents itself they may be looking to trade those guys and see if they can immediately upgrade their roster and then it was reported that the Raptors are willing to trade any combination of RJ Barrett Emanuel Quickley Purle and the number nine overall pick in the upcoming draft for Durant that according to Grant Ath so this is all interesting to me because I I do think Messiah is trying hard to get something done it’s a contract year i feel like he feels pressure that the Raptors they can’t have another loss season they got to do something where they’re in a position to compete next season there is no more room for patience here clearly with what the reports have been indicating so let’s start with the Durant piece a potential Durant trade would look something like RJ Barrett Yaka Purle and the number nine pick which is something I’ve talked about at large in a previous Kevin Durant video that I think would be one of the better deals and potentially get it done but you got to ask yourself about a Kevin Durant trade and if it’s worth it look Kevin Durant he is still one of the best pure scorers in the game he would raise the Raptors ceiling however why I’m hesitant on a move for KD is Kevin Durant’s going to turn 37 years old before next season and he’s also on an expiring deal so this could very well be a rental that doesn’t work out and you sacrifice depth now Durant is eligible to sign a 2-year $122 million extension with any team that acquires him but again it it’s a massive risk because let’s just say you part ways with two starters essentially here any combination of RJ Barry Yaka Purto or Emanuel Quickley Yakapurto and the number nine pick for Durant and this team doesn’t get it done then all of a sudden you gave up draft capital you gave up a couple of starters and you know you find yourself in a position where Durant could very well leave you high and dry and even if you have Kevin Durant on the roster I don’t think it significantly moves the needle where this team can go out there and win a championship look the Eastern Conference is wide open so maybe they can maybe they can make a run Eastern Conference finals and they address the depth issues after which is going to be tough because even if you trade Purle you’re going to be getting rid of the only true center on your roster maybe they got a backup plan Brook Lopez just throwing a name out there i don’t know but yeah like it’s still not going to be a sure bet for this team to get out of the Eastern Conference i know a lot of people are saying “Oh this is similar to when Messiah gambled for Kawawaii.” That Raptors team was a piece away from winning a championship they remember they had multiple good seasons and they were just coming up short time and time again in the playoffs this Raptors team is completely different they were 30 and 52 last season right now they’re not close to competing for a championship so I don’t think this team is a Kevin Durant trade away from winning a championship yeah the big three of Scotty Barnes Brandon Ingram and Kevin Durant looks intriguing on paper but then you’re going to have some holes to address on this roster and they’re going to have to ask the young guys to fill in the gaps immediately if this team wants to go for it all and obviously by training for Durant that’s going to be the expectation and with Durant I just think at this stage of his career I mean I never viewed him as a 1A guy he’s proven that to us he’s always been a oneb i mean look at what he did with Golden State he can’t lead a team so it’s like even if you trade for Durant can he lead this team like BI it’s unfair to ask him to be the 1A he’s coming off injury scotty I don’t think is the 1A so again I always view Durant’s best destination to be paired with a 1A like an Ant Edwards like a Victor Wabanyam on the Spurs which by the way that’s my prediction i think Durant ends up there that makes a lot of sense but for this Raptors team it just doesn’t make a whole ton of sense right now it’s like they’re trying to skip the line and and again it’s just like they haven’t even given this group a fair shot with Ingram in the equation and they’re ready to blow it up i mean it it would be wild if the Raptors end up with Durant would I be happy obviously it is Kevin Durant would he make this basketball team better yes but would it be an absolutely big risk that could set this franchise back if let’s just say they trade starters draft capital for Durant they don’t do anything in the playoffs and then he ends up leaving and that’s the thing about Durant like he’s not a loyal guy this guy’s jumping teams so often like if he was younger yeah but like he’s 37 so it’s not like you trade for Durant and your championship window grows you got to win immediately and I just don’t think this team’s in that position right now now what I do like and I’m more open to is the notion of you know dangling RJ Barrett and Quickly and the number nine pick to trade for a star who better fits the Raptors timeline you know a a younger star that is in a better contract situation you know you have them tied down and who can be there with Brandon Ingram and Scotty Barnes for the next little bit you don’t have to worry about is this guy going to leave us high and dry like Kawhai did and some names that have been thrown out there well really the one name and I think the Raptors right now betting wise are the favorite to get him uh is John Morant now I’m not saying the Raptors should go all in on John Mor what I’m saying is I’m more open to if a star player like that is available and there’s a pathway to trade for him with what you got on this roster and you’re looking for that third star with Scotty and Brandon Ingram i think the Raptors should exercise that option more so than this Kevin Durant trade we’ll see what ends up happening the Raptors they’ve been in a lot of talks here for Durant i think there is interest i think it’s going to come down to you know what they ultimately have to surrender but let me know guys do you want to see a Kevin Durant trade go down i was always open to a Giannis trade go all in for him but obviously he’s not available with Durant I’ve just kind of been iffy from the start about it especially if you you know when you look at this roster construction you got to get rid of pieces to get him with the contract situation one year he can leave you after just a lot of risk and the reward just might not be great enough to pull the trigger on that so let me know your thoughts we’ll see how this plays out guys drop a like subscribe to 1. It would be exciting to have a star and Raptors back in the spotlight. As constructed Raptors are not going anywhere in the east.. I do agree we should not trade for Durrant. We can make moves to make this team fit and connect well and one with an offensive and defensive Identity with the structure . This is what we should be doing. Scottie should be under evaluation this upcoming season. WE need to see more or we need to move on.

  2. No,No,No , too expensive, too old , just a rental , causes chaos everywhere he goes , will destroy the Raptor culture ! Doesn't want tobe here , will get injured the game and won't play the rest of the year !! No,No,No !!!

  3. Masai is not feeling or under any pressure…. If the owners don’t resign him he has a plethora of options and teams would be throwing money at him.

  4. Despite what Raptors fans think RJ doesn’t have great value around the league. His contract is not a toxic one and is more neutral.

The only way RJ is included for a big star is if the other team is desperate in getting rid of the star due to being disgruntled or in a contract year and the player has indicated he doesn’t want to resign.

  5. KD wants the Spurs. He ain't winning a ring with the Raptors b/c he is no prime Kawhi Leonard. I don't see KD signing any extension, esp with Toronto being in anti-free speech Canada. He'll just play out his contract and join the Spurs as an UFA next summer and get a ring then…if he hasn't become injured and retired.

  6. VERY RISKY for the Raptors. KD ain't winning a ring with the Raptors. He is no prime Kawhi Leonard and is an injury away from retirement. I don't see KD signing any extension w/Toronto being in anti-free speech Canada. He'll just play out his contract and join the Spurs as an UFA next summer and get a ring then…if he hasn't become injured and retired.
